The food is wonderful. The naan...everything we've tried is to rave about. Service has always been prompt and they attend to you very well It's a nice feeling being there. Decor is authentic. There is also outdoor seating. We recently had a mishap with a server carrying a tray (large tray!) and a dish slid off the tray right into my lap. Hot! I jumped up to get the hot liquid away from my skin and I think I startled the waitress, I didn't mean to upset her. But i did. I'm so so sorry about that. Can I give it a 10/10?! Went early for lunch, it's my birthday and I've been wanting to try Bombay Sitar. Gorgeous interior, feels true to form. The yellows and maroons and blues set the tone. Servers were attentive and nice to our little girl. We got the Pani Puri and it was a tactile experience. Also the chicken pakora which my daughter and boyfriend loved! I've never tried any other Indian restaurants in the Canton area bc we've never had a bad meal at this one! I don't eat meat very often so it's a great spot for vegetarians. Takeout review: As a former resident of Stark County, Bombay was my go to spot for Indian food. Yesterday, I was in town and got takeout and boy was I excited. Then upon getting home - the plate below was my $18.95 lamb vindaloo. Upon seeing it, I said "where's the rest??" Figuring this quart size container had to be "half the order". I counted 11 little lamb bites. My other half ordered butter chicken - similar size and two things of naan for $43.00 approx. I understand there are some price issues in this country but 11 pieces of lamb. I recall much larger portions upon previous visits. Here's the thing: it's still really good. It's a fine restaurant and the flavors are spot on!!! Great heat at Level 6 and the rice by itself has amazing flavor. Portions are really made for 2 people so if you like a specific dish order 2. The Butter Chicken, Chicken Tika Masala, Chicken Vindaloo, and Chicken Jalfrezi are all amazing. The Lamb curry was good but gamey. And the samosas are fantastic!! Garlic and Garlic Cheese Naan are great as well. Only reason not 5 star is they are very hands off from a service standpoint and portions on more popular dishes are a bit light IMO. Firstly, this food is not authentic Indian cuisine. The restaurant seemed fine upon walking in, nothing special and definitely not fancy. The cashier was less than friendly. Also, when I asked the simple question of whether or not they made a particular Indian sweet, the man said no as if in his mind he was saying " if it's not on the menu, don't ask."I placed a takeout order and the food tasted microwaved and VERY bland ( which is not customary of Indian food at all) and of course it was not at all fresh. So I've been going to BS for years but I've never written a review. This is our first time going back after the truck hit the building. As always food was delicious, we just went before the buffet and had a nice quiet lunch. We got Tikki Masala, Lamb Rogan Josh, Saag Paneer with Roti and Garlic Naan, everything was tasty. Service was courteous and attentive, not a single issues. We will probably patron this restaurant as long as we live in this area. If you've never tried Indian food, your missing out. I'm not really fond of Indian cuisine but a friend wanted to dine here so we tried it. We got some garlic naan and the fruit & nut naan which was delicious. The food was good but still not really my thing. The mango lassi was amazing. The restaurant was very clean and the server was nice but very very soft spoken. She was almost whispering which made it hard in a restaurant to hear what she was saying. She was very pleasant though. If I had to do Indian again, I'd definitely go back here. Without a buffet, the end price makes for a very expensive solo dinner. I love a variety when I eat Indian. They even charge for the yogurt sauce to calm the heat. Excellent place for Indian food! There is also a unique drink menu. We were able to be seated immediately because we decided to dine a little early for a Saturday night. We asked to sit outside and so glad we did. Four of us sat around a large table. Plenty of room for us and all the food we ordered. The food is freshly prepared and customers can choose the heat level. It can take a little while for food to arrive at the table but totally worth waiting. The meat and veggies and sauces were amazingly fresh! The servers were attentive. Our waters were frequently filled and we were asked if there is anything else we needed. Bombay Sitar is an Indian restaurant best known for the buffet. It has been the best place to get Indian food in Canton. There's not that many other Indian restaurants around here. Certainly not any with a buffet of course. While the food can vary in quality, you have a good selection. Indian restaurants are rare around here. It gets people from farther away because there's nothing else around like it. The bigger cities have endless amounts of Indian restaurants. A bad thing about that is many go out of business. There's too many of them. Here they don't worry about it. They have a monopoly on Indian food so they can just do whatever. Buffets are the best value of course. It's about $12 for it at lunch. The buffet is a little more on weekends. Food isn't as good as ordering from the menu but it's still fine. The food isn't as dried out as other places. Come for the lunch buffet. It's a good way to sample the menu. They also let customers fill up a container at the buffet for takeout. read more

Came here for Saturday lunch buffet. The variety of food offered is fantastic. They have appetizers, fresh cut fruits, desserts, drinks, plenty of vegetarian options and a non vegetarian section. The food is flavorful and not too spicy. We are of Indian descent and me and my husband thoroughly enjoyed the food. We are very picky about Indian food. They have plenty of staff walking around to help clear away plates and refill water. At 11:30, when the buffet opens, there were already people lined up to enter. This place is a hidden gem and has immediately jumped to the top of our list of places we regularly visit. So expensive! $14.95 each for vegetarian dishes; $5.25 for chai; $4.95 for galub jamun; naan was similarly expensive and for four tiny pieces!... On the plus side, it seemed clean, the waitress was good. The food was just okay - one was too spicy, the other like hospital food with no spice at all, neither that great - same with the naan. My family has ordered from this restaurant about 4 times in the last year. We haven't had an issue until our most recent order. I got severe food poisoning after drinking their mango lassi beverage. The food cooking has improved to perfection. Service has improved and they are helpful in explaining the dishes. We had dinner for four tonight and it was outstanding. We have been going to Bombay Sitar long before covid-19, when there was a really great lunch buffet and it was very reasonably priced. Now we mostly get the carry out but the dining room is clean and usually has a calm, peaceful feeling. The owners and staff are very friendly and can explain the menu items in as much detail as you may need. I just got a carry out yesterday of Lamb Biryani and Garlic Naan - very tasty. Out of the hundreds of meals we have had, only 1 was disappointing - the flavors were bland for some reason but that was the only time. I'm gonna open by saying I don't live anywhere near this restaurant. I was but a simple traveler in the desert, shriveling husk begging for sustenance. A few desperate "food near me" Google Maps searches later, I saw this spot and the menu looked good so I figured - why not? I had a buddy that lives close to here so we met up, decided to order some curries, kick it up to "Indian Hot", and just see what happened. What occurred next was nothing short of orgasmic. This restaurant is truly an oasis tucked away from society. I never imagined this city would harbor some of the freshest, richest, spiciest paneer makhani I've ever had: The paneer was cooked to perfection, with a texture that was firm... but forgiving. The gravy was creamy without sacrificing an ounce of flavor or spice. The garlic naan was a perfect buttery/crispy vessel that allowed me to subsume all these flavors into my maw like an eager Cthulhu. The owners are a very kind elderly Indian couple who you can tell have made it their personal mission to fatten up every single one of their grandkids, and they bring the same energy to the restaurant. Wonderfully kind folks who you can tell are proud to run this sanctuary. If you happen to stumble across this review as a traveler in need of refreshments, a native who didn't know this gem existed in your backyard, or a nearby local who just wants to feel something, you owe it to yourself to look past the unassuming exterior and stick your snout in some high quality, authentic Indian slop.
