Upon walking in, I smelled something burning, but made a nice comment that it smelled like roasted spices and perhaps was the Naan breads toasting. Either way, the counter person
was not the friendliest from the get-go; even quite abrupt and then somewhat arrogant.
Long story short, I had been offered a 15% off (on take out) when the restaurant was new and wasn't told of any minimums or expiry on the offer. Due to various factors it took a while to get there --- I even called to check their hours and see if they had re-opened at one point.
After explaining this and showing the business card with what was written on the back, I was told I would have to order more then $30 to use that discount. Then after explaining more of the details, it went down to $20 (referring to some story about back then this-and-that...).
Again, I wasn't told, nor was it written there was a minimum or an expiry to the offer (just for take out), so you'd think it would be simple. When I got it the person was very welcoming and said come back and use it next time to try.
Needless to say during these challenging times - I was surprised, taken aback and disappointed; since I had made a specific effort to come back and use this welcoming offer.
In the end, I ordered 2 Naan (one for me and one for someone who asked since I was going).
It turned out to be a nice pre-dinner snack and is the reason I'll hold off on a (rare) one star. read more
