As an Indian myself, this restaurant is NOT good! The tandoori paneer tikka was simply uncooked paneer pieces that had not been marinated or grilled the way paneer tikka usually is which made it a total waste of money. The paneer tikka masala was also horrible. Daal was way too spicy and the waiting took too long. Did not enjoy the food and do not recommend coming.

Great for groups to dine in at! This place was right by the Airbnb my friends and I stayed at and we walked in with 6 people and they sat us immediately. All the dishes were sharing sizes so it's easy to do family style.

Friends and I just stopped in passing by. It has a nice dimly lit ambiance. It's not too dark. The service was ok. I got the Thali avec poule au cari. The Paule au cari & Chana masala were good however, I wasn't a fan of the tandoori chicken leg. It was a really random addition and wasn't needed. The salad was also just dry lettuce with nothing on it. I enjoyed the meal, but probably wouldn't return due to the experience being so ordinary.

Even tho' we ordered dishes not too spicy (I like the spice, dining partner is NOT a fan), the dishes were spicy. The restaurant is BYOB. Service was a bit disjointed but we eventually got everything we ordered. They seem to bring it as it's ready but the steamed rice (I'm pretty sure they have a huge batch of it in the kitchen) was the last thing to show up after asking about it multiple times. The interior is very dark & dingy so sit at the front near the windows if possible.

Hands down to this restaurant, as a Indian food lover, I always have the tendency to look for the best especially for consistency and freshness of the spices. Singh's fascinated me and I fell in love with their food and restaurant. This restaurant is very cutely decorated with Indian puppets and idols. In addition, it is very clean. I went for the vegetarian thaali and it consisted of rice, naan, and 3 vegetable dishes. I had the aubergine, dal and kofta. They were all delicious and so filling but as I loved their naans because they were so soft and melted in my mouth as well as the crunch of the naan. In other words, just cooked to perfection. I'd definitely go back to try other dishes at this restaurant. Plus it only cost me $6.99 for this dish which I found really cheap compared to other restaurant. I'd definitely recommend it if you want the real authentic foods from India and Punjab as you'd definitely fall in love with that place just like I did today. My tummy is a happy camper after this sumptuous meal at Singh's. :)

We were in Montreal and need a good Indian restaurant. Called a friend of mine who lives in Montreal and he recommended this restaurant. My friend had called the owner and informed him that we were coming. The restaurant has a great vibe. The decor is traditional Indian. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The prices are reasonable and the food is delicious. The best part is that you can bring your own alcohol in. The best compliment I can give and Indian restaurant is that they cook genuine Indian food. And this place cooks genuine Indian food. Everyone in Montreal or visiting Montreal should try this restaurant.

It's towards the top of Old Montreal so we had a nice walk to and from the restaurant. We were greeted by the host and sat down immediately. The restaurant inside was very pretty and had low lighting to make it look very intimate. I'd definitely consider Veranda a fine-dining Indian restaurant. We ordered the samosa tarts and malai chicken tikka from the appetizers and both were absolutely delicious! We also ordered mango lassi, butter chicken, and garlic naan (all automatic orders for us when we go to Indian restaurants) and none of them disappointed. However, we were a little disappointed that they didn't have a few menu items that we see back home or at other Indian restaurants like onion bhaji, pakora, biryani and tandoori chicken. The only complaint we had was the service wasn't that great. Our order was taken a few minutes after viewing the menu and the staff was very friendly but after we finished our appetizers, we felt neglected as other tables were served their food and we were waiting 25-30 minutes to get served our main dish. We had to let the server know that we were done our appetizers and ready for the main dish. I'm not sure if this is normal in Montreal or at Indian restaurants in Montreal? Other restaurants we were served our courses immediately one after the other, with maybe 5-10 minutes in between. It wasn't busy either for a Wednesday night where they only had 3-4 tables. Regardless, we would recommend Veranda to anyone craving Indian food who wants to eat in Old Montreal! The food is delicious!

Montreal's most magical dining experience!…read more If you're looking for a reason to book a trip to Montreal, let me give you one: Tula. My husband and I visited during a recent trip to the city, and without question, it was the best meal we had -- and honestly, one of the most memorable dining experiences of our lives. From the moment you walk through the door, the space wraps you in warmth. The atmosphere is inviting, the decor puts you instantly at ease, and the staff greet you with the kind of genuine kindness that's increasingly rare. But it's Abhi and Renata (apologies if I've misspelled either name!) who truly make this place something extraordinary. These two are the heart and soul of Tula, and their passion for what they do radiates through every single aspect of the experience. We spent a few wonderful hours there, and I mean that -- the time just melted away. Renata sang for the entire restaurant, and her voice was absolutely stunning, a spontaneous and beautiful gift to everyone in the room. Abhi, in the most generous gesture, sat down and hand-wrote a list of vegan restaurant recommendations from around the globe for us to take home. These are people who love what they do and love the people they do it for. And then there's the food. Oh, the food. We started with an Indian taco special that set the tone perfectly, then moved on to the Tofu Achari Masala curry with chapati and the Dal Sambar with steamed rice -- both absolutely spectacular. We finished with a special pistachio cake dessert that was the perfect, dreamy ending to the meal. Every single dish tasted like it was made with genuine love and intention, because it was. This is vegan Indian cuisine at its very finest. I left Tula feeling something I didn't quite expect: greater faith in humanity. That might sound dramatic, but if you go -- and you absolutely must go, as soon as possible -- I think you'll understand exactly what I mean. Don't wait. Just go.

Sarasvat cuisine in the heart of montreal, that too vegan! Sign me up…read more This is a must try esp if you have any dietary needs or are exploring ayurvedic cuisine or just love your mind body soul or are adventurous... Basically all of us. Abhishek the owner is a person my Saraswat folks would be proud of. Representing the culture so well but also acing at hospitality. Come here to find out what I mean. He juggles customer's needs, kitchen times, and the ambience like a ballet dancer that's training to do this since birth! The food is so homely. It is full of flavors without forcing the oil, salt, or bulby aromats. You feel so satiated yet don't leave with a bloated stomach and a cloudy mind. The menu is beautifully curated. For a first timer, just do the thali. Be adventurous and choose the sassav, the koliwada, the ghasis. If not, do the more popular vegetarian meals you won't regret anything. Their mock/cocktails are equally amazing. 100/10 would recommend!
