Both their all you can eat options (veg and non veg)
    Foodfx

Checked out Bombay Kitchen & Bar for their all-you-can-eat thali, and it's a solid option if you're looking for variety and value. Both the veg and non-veg thalis came with a nice mix of dishes, including butter chicken, fish curry, tandoori chicken, shahi paneer, eggplant bhartha, dal, channa masala, aloo matar, garlic naan, rice, papad, raita, and gulab jamun--and everything was refillable! Definitely a great deal if you're hungry. Flavours were decent overall. The butter chicken leaned on the sweeter side, and the fish curry was a bit mild, but the tandoori chicken had a nice smoky char, and the naan was fresh and garlicky. Some items could have been a bit more bold in flavor, but nothing was bad. Service was friendly, though a little slow at times, but for an AYCE Indian meal at this price point, it's worth trying. If you want a big, comforting Indian feast without breaking the bank, this is a solid spot

Take a look at the photo I took of the naan! It's HUUUGE! I remember the feeling of seeing it arrive at the table. Just incredible. I had so much fun breaking off pieces of naan and eating all the different curries with it. Another highlight for me was the tangy mango lassi. I always appreciate a beautiful presentation. It looked so pretty with the nice design on top! I also love mango lassi with Indian food because it's great for balancing all the savoury and spicy flavours. I would also like to say that I love the restaurant's ambiance too. It's like a *mood* if you know what I mean! Like somewhere you would go for a special occasion with friends!

Mandatory chickpea curry, rice, naan, gulab jamun Have 2/3 choices for the other 2 slots: we did butter chicken and lamb curry

Did the unlimited Thali. There's no information about it online. It comes with naan, rice, chickpea curry, 2 curry items, and one gulab jamun. You have to pick veg or non-veg and cannot mix. We picked non-veg and there are 3 options: butter chicken, lamb curry, or beef curry. The server did not specify what type of curry so I don't know what it is. You can choose the spiciness levels as well. When you want to order more, you can only refill the things you had. You cannot choose a different curry. Those are the limitations of this unlimited thali. You're also allowed to refill anything else on your thali (rice, naan, chickpea curry, gulab jamun). We chose the butter chicken and lamb curry. It took extremely long for the orders to come. Each curry only had about 3-4 pieces of meat on it. The butter chicken was extremely good - probably the best I've had. The lamb was very tender. We asked for more refills and those came fairly quickly. However, the refills for 2 people is really just as much for 1 person - the same 3-4 pieces of meat to share between the both of us. The naan was nice and soft. The gulab jamun was well made as well. Overall the quality is very good but having 1 server to handle the customers, the calls, and the delivery services is hard. There were only 2 tables seated at the time and the server was so busy already that one customer walked in, waited, and then walked out because nobody served them.

BUTTER CHICKEN SO FLAVORFUL! Came here as a Yelp elite event and they delivered! Staff: the staff here are so pretty in their outfits. Very sweet and accommodating even when the restaurant was a full house. 2 waitresses taking care of a full house restaurant, very impressed! Interior/exterior: the exterior looked simple and generic but when you enter, I did not expect how pretty the walls and the lighting was. Gave a nice and friendly ambiance Food: Appetizers: Sev Puri + Vegetable Momos Both are delicious! So much flavours Mains: Butter Chicken + Lamb Curry + Paneer Butter Tikka Masala + Aloo Gobhi + Vegetable Biryani + Naan/Garlic Naan. My fav was the butter chicken and paneer ( wished they cut the garlic naan bread, very understandable the way to share is family style but during covid times, sharing is not ideal at the moment with people touching my bread and ripping it. I did ask for scissors if they can cut the garlic naan but they didn't. Even tho the original was cut properly) Drinks:Mango Lassi It's like a sweet mango smoothie with some tangy flavour to it! Refreshing with a floral print Presentation: I would say it's generic, but presentation was inconsistent. Some people had drinks in different cups and don't have floral designs on their drinks. Consistency is key so all customers can get a beautiful experience Price: price for the quality, definitely would come again! Overall: the flavours were wonderful and I definitely recommend anybody who loves alot of flavours in their food to try this place out

    Unlimited Dinner Feast
    Carrie C.

Delicious food and great service. We each ordered the dinner feast and were stuffed to the max! The feast items are determined by the cook and then served at the table, but are endless if you choose. Ours had butter chicken, lamb curry, Chana masala, Dal (lentils), vegetables, tandoori chicken leg, naan, cucumber riata and rice pudding.

Great Indian place just N of the busy part of Commercial Drive. Parking is available on the side streets. As of the time of writing, there was a nice patio in front. Staff were friendly. Looks like a family business. Food is quite tasty here. Tried their beef curry, palak paneer, and lamb korma. Their spiciness scale is tuned to local tastes. In other words, the spiciness was rather underwhelming, even at the highest level. With that said, the food did have a nice amount of heat. The garlic naan is nice and fresh and not too greasy. Buddy and I left happy. Lastly, their mango lassi is served with a nice flowery pattern. See photo. So pretty. Definitely worth checking out if one is the area.

I'm so glad I decided to come here! The food was amazing. From our samosas, the butter chicken, naan bread...wow.

Mango Lassi. Thick and mango-ey but not too sweet

This food sucks. We ordered Mango Lassis, Masala Fries, Chicken Hariyali, Goa Fish Curry, Laccha Paratha, and Steamed Basmati Rice. The fries and lassis were very good, and the place was pretty for an Indian restaurant. Chef Andy was giving a show with his kitchen utensils while the server was really kind, so we had high hopes. Unfortunately, the chicken and fish were absolutely unseasoned, very stingy, and way too rich. The dishes not only tasted awful but also had very little meat. The fish was mushy and breaded like the frozen cod fillets from a grocery store. The paratha was cardboard and not flaky/buttery like real laccha paratha. Ironically, I've had better laccha parathas from the frozen food isle. Things got worse when my mom bit on a stone in the rice/paratha with a "crack." Her molar was badly chipped as she spat a pencil tip-sized tooth chunk on her plate. Despite this proof, the chef and server denied anything. This is not at all passable as Indian food. No dramatics from Chef Andy and kindness from the server can make this food taste authentic or keep your teeth intact. If you're looking for good Indian food, aim way higher.

We ended up going to another restaurant nearby. I'd come back for a glass of wine and the baguette bites, but not for a full dinner. It's just too slow. Initially perplexed,…read moresince our Uber dropped us off one block away, we had no idea where we were in the dark of the Canadian night. Surrounded by warehouses, did the driver want us to experience a "call of the wild?" However, Odd Society beckoned one block from the corner, and two seats were available at the strange bar. Strange because our view was blocked by a kind of ersatz plastic and wood wagon wheel blocking our view of the servers and bar. It was reminiscent of Utah's Zion Curtain. Later, I was told it was part of Odd Society's Covid protection and helped the bartenders stack things up. Okay, fine, but tear the damn things down. They're obnoxious. Odd Society creates an array of liquors made from ingredients sourced locally by law. It's required by their license. I tried almost all of them, and most were fantastic. Abby and Colin, our servers, were charming, fun, and educational, answering my questions, which became increasingly inane as the alcohol took effect. The distillery also mixes fantastic cocktails, and mine, named Midori, was friggen unbelievable. I had two of them along with my liquor tasting. My Midori was made with a special concoction called Portuguese Sweet Milk, or something like that. It was amazing. I want one for breakfast. The fun kept coming, and I didn't want to leave. Alas, we had reservations at Lunch Lady up the street. We should have stayed at Odd Society. Lunch Lady was a disappointment. Try Odd Society out as both a distillery and cocktail bar. You won't be disappointed about either one.

In summary, the place was ok, but noticed after the fact that we were overcharged for the drinks. It's a small space - about 3 high tables, one lower one, each seating 4 to maybe at most 5 people, plus a bar. I reserved a table for the 2 of us at 3:30 pm on a Sunday (earliest reservation they had as they open at 3 pm) and we were seated at 3 pm. They checked our vaccine passports and then seated us. Not long after we were seated, the remaining tables were all taken just after opening for 30 minutes so I would recommend reserving if you prefer tables over bar seating. The waitress brought over a drinks menu and food menu. The menu showed cocktails at $13. We chose our drinks and ordered, then the waitress came by with a second menu that she said was for Sunday only. She apologized and said she normally doesn't work Sunday's so she didn't know this promotional menu was available. This menu had some cocktails on promotion that I would have not minded to try, but I had already received my cocktail. Oh well. I had the Violet and Claire, which looked great and tasted pretty good for the first half. However by the second half of the drink, it started to taste too sweet. It was not bad for a cocktail, overall. My friend said the Smoke Between the Sheets cocktail was alright as well. We got our bills quickly as we had a second place to visit afterwards. After paying, I snapped a picture of the bill at the time but did not notice until I got home that to my surprise, each cocktail was listed on the bill at $14.95. I recalled their physical menu saying $13, and verified this with their menu online. Unfortunately, I did not notice the discrepancy until I was home, otherwise I would have mentioned something. Note that our visit was at the end of November 2021, and at the time I'm writing this review (December 26, 2021), their online menu still has cocktail prices at $13. So, I am not sure if this was a one time mistake when we paid, or if they have just forgotten to update their menu? Either way, this was disappointing. Because of the entire experience I probably won't visit again, especially with all the other options Vancouver has for cocktails.
