I'm not sure what happened on my last visit as the curries were on the colder side. When you arrive parking can be a bit difficult, there is a small parking lot out front, if that's full you'll need to find street park. The restaurant itself feels warm, casual, and bustling. Queen you walk in you have the option to sit on the backyard patio or in the dining room. We opted to sit in the dining room as it just felt more intimate and the vibe we were wanting for dinner. For our appetizer, we started with the Samosas (Two crispy pastries filled with your choice of freshly mixed vegetables or delicately spiced lean ground beef) which were excellent. Next we ordered the garlic naan, chicken tikka masala, and butter chicken. The naan and samosas showed up piping hot but the chicken tikka masala & butter chicken were cold. I probably should have said something as I was disappointed but was too hungry to care at that moment. If I'm in the Seattle area I may stop by Taste of India again.

The menu is huge...lots to choose from, and I don't read the language so I was totally overwhelmed by the choices. I cold never have read the entire menu in time to order. So I landed on one thing that looked ok and decided to get that. I got the samay baji with lamb. $30. My partner got a chicken curry. I had chai and she an Indian hot toddy. The food was excellent. Super flavorful, fresh...great. I liked the chai and the toddy was good as well...though it needed a minute to steep before it got really good. Our entrees came out about 5 minutes apart. My dish had a very hot pepper garnish that I was not expecting - and is not in the menu description. The bill for two was $80+ without apps and they automatically add a 15% service fee which I also did not expect...it's not mentioned anywhere until you get the bill. Overall it was great. I've been before and I'll go again...but now I know better I'll check the menu first and be more deliberate about what I get.

The plate came with two sliders and waffle fries, but the sliders lacked sauces and chutneys, making them dry and somewhat flavorless. The chili momos were delicious and definitely something I would order again. The mango lassi was also great, although I'm not sure why they add ice--it dilutes it unnecessarily! Not exactly sure what to get, we ordered the momo combo, the malai momos, and the tandoori momos - all chicken. These did more than live up to the hype. They're simply the best momos I've ever had. The sample size on that isn't huge, as I've only had it from about three or four different places, but these blow those other places out of the water so much it's crazy. The quality here is simply spectacular - every kind of momo present is so delightful to consume. The level of marination on each of these is highly impressive. The momo combo comes with sandheko, steamed, chili, and fried types. Each of these are awesome. The fried momo has a great crunch without being overly bready. It reminds me a little of a turnover, but savory. The sandheko momo is dripping with a nutty, oily flavor. The chili momo isn't super spicy, but contains just enough for your tongue to feel that it's there - and it has a beautiful deep red color. The malai momos are also awesome. These are nutty and creamy to the max - drenched in sauce yet the dough still stays firm on the outside. The combination of flavors with the chicken feels like it shouldn't work, but it just does in a way that's purely addicting. Out of the three orders though, my favorite has to be the tandoori momos. These are plump, juicy, and the reddish brown exterior feels like they actually were cooked in a tandoor. They're the only ones crispy on the outside, yet the chicken on the inside stays the same level of soft and juicy as the other ones. I should mention how good the filling - despite being ground chicken - is. It tastes better than a lot of the pork filling I've had in other dumplings. We also had the garlic basil naan, with tomato achar. While the achar wasn't my favorite as it felt too liquidy, the naan was quite soft and enjoyable to even eat plain. Also the momo sauce wasn't my favorite either as it felt too tomato-forward. Each order was around $15-17, which for 10 pieces, I'd say is a decent enough price. Overall, I find it hard to believe that these momos will be topped anytime soon. 9.15/10

The food is really generous portions so you get a lot of value here! I didn't try anything I didn't like, but I also wouldn't say I was wowed by anything in particular. While there was a lot of seating they sat most people in this semi enclosed area and it made quite noisy. Additionally it took a while for the food to come out and there would be long gaps between dishes coming out. Overall this is somewhere I wouldn't necessarily drive out of my way for but if you are in the area I think it's a solid choice and could be a good takeout choice too.

I agree with their guidance that you should get two rolls if you're hungry. The one thing that I think is missing a bit from the rolls is a crunchy element.
