Came here today for their lunch buffet and it was great. The food was fresh and well prepared, with a variety of vegetarian options. Unlike Chinese or Japanese buffets, there is only a total of about 15 dishes (including dessert), but from my experience that is what many Indian buffets offer. Located in the busy Sportsworld area off the highway in Kitchener, this is another of the Bombay Bhel restaurants that we are familiar with in the GTA. There is another Indian Place across the street but this is the better of the two. The menu is basically the same as the other locations but I think it's a bit more expensive. I know I haven't been to too many of them recently but unless they raised their prices a lot over the last year, I don't think a curry should be $15-$17 for a single dish. I had the Chicken Tikka Masala and it was standard fare. I found the par-broiled chicken was a bit old and hard. The gravy was a bit more salty than I would like it too be. Nonetheless it was dinner and I need something to eat. If I wanted Indian while out in Kitchener, I would probably try a few other ones in the area. If I can't find anything better, at least I have the Bhel when I have my curry cravings. Cheers! read more

Reviewing this restaurant after one visit. From the start the servers were very friendly and let us sit wherever we wanted. The atmosphere was very nice and kind of upscale compared to the other places in the plaza. They had some nice classical background music playing which I like. They also ask you if you want your curry spicy. Food: 5/5 Delicious. The spice level of my saag lamb was perfect. I wouldn't change a thing. Service: 5/5 So friendly! Very good customer service. They always came to us to see how we were doing. We never had to raise our hands to ask for anything. The manager/owner came to ask us how our meal was after we were done. You can tell how much they value good service. Cleanliness: 5/5 Very clean, very neat. The price is reasonable for such a nice, classy place. This is one of my favourite restaurants in KW. But, everything we ate today chats/main course/dal or even dessert - lacked same taste as I have been coming to this restaurant for. The food was okay - I liked the flavour of the butter chicken but the chicken itself seemed a bit dry. I'd go back again if it weren't for the poor service we received. I called to place an order for pick up and I'm not sure if the person didn't understand me (I'm in the service industry and speak quite clearly) but she hung up on me! I'm not generally a fan of Indian cuisine but I have been craving it lately. This place is close to my job so I popped over for a late lunch. The buffet runs until 3 and I came around 2. The pros? DELICIOUS. The food was very very good. The chicken was tender and moist, with an excellent flavour. The naan was soft, the rice perfect... nothing I didn't like. If I were trying Indian for the first time I would be hooked! The cons? The food wasn't really hot. Their buffet style is like going to a banquet where they have those little burners. I wasn't offered any other drink than water - which was room temp but good! The atmosphere is elegant but dark. Overall I would definitely suggest going here, because the cons really aren't deal breakers in my opinion. read more

Worst service ever. They close before there closing time. Happening with me 3rd time. They refuse to take order even if the order is placed at 9 pm. Unfortunately same happened in afternoon when the whole staff works, Half of the menu was not available. Saw this place listed in the hot new businesses category on Yelp so I had to go. Went there for dinner on a Friday with a friend. The restaurant was full but luckily we were seated in a few minutes after arrival. Facilities/Environment: Their washroom was clean and well taken care off. The decor of the restaurant is decent but nothing about it particularly stands out. Food I ordered the karahi gosht (lamb) which comes with 1 Nan, but I order an extra Nan just in case. The lamb was cooked well but I think they have lowered the spice levels to better target the North American customer and hence they have sacrificed some of the authenticity. The Nan bread was okay but I think they can do better - the bread was too thin and dried up fast as I ate my meal. Nan bread is supposed to be a bit thicker and therefore supposed to retain moisture and softness for longer. Overall, I would say that the portions were a bit big and you should be prepared to take home some leftovers. This entree was in the $12-14 range if my memory serves me well. For dessert, I ordered the gulab jamun. The standard serving was 2 pieces presented in a small bowl with syrup. I think this entree was spot on and did justice to the dish. Service: We were well attended throughout our dining experience and so there were no problems there. We did have a bit of a misunderstanding where a restaurant staff came by to check what Yelp check-in offer I had just redeemed with the waiter. Unfortunately, after using my Yelp check in offer, the coupon disappeared which made the coupon's verification impossible. Apparently, she was not informed about which check in offers were being currently advertised. Better communication of marketing efforts to restaurant staff will make for a smoother customer experience. Outlook: I think I will come back again to try other dishes and see if I like them better and update my review accordingly. read more

We wanted to try this place out tonight as it was a new Indian restaurant to the area. We ordered the seekh kebab and it was terrible. It appeared to be in sausage casing, which it shouldn't be. The taste was unbearable and we couldn't eat it after the first couple of bites. We also had bhel poori, and it was soggy and not very palatable. The interior of the place is beautiful though. This is a chain, so I assume the others locations are good, but we will never go back here. I think we will stick to Modern India for good Indian food near Costco. read more

Me and my friend went there to eat after seeing the review and we were really hungry and ordered four to five items (bhel puri, chicken biriyani, beef and veggi) and the only thing we passed eating was the beef. We didn't want to be disrespectful and ate other stuff just a little and took the rest with us. The food was dry and no taste. It was cold and did not look appetizing. Ordered 3 curries and a kebab platter thinking that's enough for five people. The curries came in sour cream size tubs. I had to serve them in cereal bowls! so embarrassing to give such small portions. The manager said it was my error and not theirs as no one else ever complained. For me paying $80 and still not being able to feed 5 people is a totally rip off. Thanks for nothing Bombay bhel. Ordered from the menu for lunch and they had a great selection to choose from. There was a huge amount of people going for the lunch buffet. We had an appetizer and ordered two different dishes, the lamb was very nice. We had rice and naan with both. Everything was really good and the price was reasonable. Saw this place while at Modern India and decided to try it instead. Found the food to be overly priced. The staff were nice and attentive. They do serve a meal as a buffet. We went during non buffet time. Food was made fresh and tasted quit good. Portions could have been bigger. As stated earlier over priced.
