Chicken samba (bottom) and vegetable/chicken (top)

Kismet is a convenient location for lunch near the Univ of Waterloo campus. A decent variety of Bangladeshi dishes for meat eaters and vegetarians, with daily specials. Food is tasty and spicy so beware! I would not recommend anything higher than 2 chili's for anyone not feeling too adventurous. Atmosphere is casual and service was friendly and attentive. The Chicken Samba and Chicken/Vegetable are both well spiced but the rice was honestly quite dry. I would get only the pita in the future and overall it was a good experience.

Butter Chicken & Super Hot Zalfrezy! Hot & delicious as promised

This family owned & run business has been my ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE for over 10 yrs. Simply, Clean decor that does what a restaurant does BEST!! Feed you great healthy delicious Indian Halal food at reasonable prices. My fiancée tried the hottest dish on the menu & wasn't disappointed. My favourite has always been the yummy sweet Butter Chicken, Garlic Naan & Pakora's with the very delicious homemade fresh mint dip!! Abu, the owner welcomes you with his great personality & always suggests just the right combination to feed your hunger. You will not ever disappointed with "Kismet"

Butter chicken - not enough sauce/chicken with the rice but really tasty :)

This place is pretty good! I've been meaning to try it for quiet some time now and I finally did. I ordered the butter chicken with rice (comes with rice/naan). The butter chicken sauce itself tasted really good! However there were only about 3/4 pieces of chicken in the plate which was a total bummer. Also the sauce isn't enough for the amount of rice you get.. I wish they would separate the rice and sauce in different packaging. The rice texture was also very different.. It wasn't grainy, I feel like the rice pieces were all broken so it felt and looked like little spheres instead of rice grains... lol Overall the butter chicken was really good! A little pricey for the amount of food you get ($10.50) but the taste is worth it :) The placement of the restaurant in the university plaza is a little secluded and I feel like that's mainly why not a lot of people come here but I would recommend trying it at least once!

    Chana masala with rice

Got both takeout and ate in at kismet. Ordered the daal soup for takeout (side) and it was smaller than I expected a side to be, but it's okay because it was delicious! It was very flavourful and hearty. Eating in I got the Chana masala with rice - again, I found it to be very flavourful. The dish seems pretty healthy and light, and is priced reasonably (around $7). Service was quite fast during lunch time.

    Best curry place in KW!

Best curry place in KW! Ragan Josh and Vindaloo are really good! My favourite is chicken bangalore, but it is extremely hot. Try ragan josh if you can't eat very hot.

Everything was tin-foiled! Made it really hard to eat :( The curry in the picture was really good.

The food is pretty good, not that amazing or anything. I like their curry a lot actually. They have a pretty comprehensive menu, which I enjoy. I usually get take-out from here. What I found weird is that they tin-foil all their items. The chicken, the kebabs, and even the salad was tin-foiled! It made it really hard to un-pack and eat.

Great food, maybe best Indian food in K-W. Price is very reasonable and I've never had better naan bread.

The naan was fluffy and hot, and the different dishes and sauces were delicious. The vegetarian option came with a chickpea dish and a cabbage+pea dish, both were pleasantly spicey. The meat dishes were a sweetened butter chicken and a stewed goat. I really enjoyed our meal here and will definitely return again for their lunch. Cannot speak for their dinner serving sizes and prices, which I find are typically less "worth it" in most Indian restaurants. Owners were friendly, would recommend if you're nearby and craving Indian food.

The first time I came I ordered the Chana masala with basmati rice, the combination of spices they used in the dish was magic in my mouth! For our table of three we shared two appetizers - the vegetable pakora and onion bhajee which were deep fried and delicious. I could not wait to come back! On my second visit, I ordered the bharta and my boyfriend ordered the chicken chettined. We shared an order of basmati rice and their fluffy naan bread. Bharta is an eggplant dish mixed with herbs and tomatoes, I am a big fan of eggplants and this is the best preparation I've ever had of this magnificent vegetable (or fruit?...) I honestly cannot rave enough about this place. If you want a trip to flavor town, hit up Sahar's Kitchen!
