The bathroom had a leaky toilet, but luckily it was the fresh water valve, so not the complete end of the world. It's a cute little wing place with lots of antique looking signs on the walls. As I'm looking at the menu on the wall, the "too cool for school" dude behind the counter was ready to ring me up before I even ordered. The girl asks "first time in here?". It had been all of about 30 seconds since I got to the counter and with nobody else in the place not sure why the rush. The truth is, I had been here before but it's been a while and I was looking at the list of wing flavors looking for lemon pepper, which is not on the menu. The guy points to the counter in front of him and says, the menu is right here. I mean, I could see the menu on the wall just fine. I ordered the 10 piece wing combo with fries, a sweet tea, 1/2 Garlic Parmesan and the other 1/2 Sweet Red Chili and the girl says "That's a good one!"-referring to the Sweet Red Chili sauce. The guy points to the sides and says, "Pick 2". I said, "Two? It comes with 2 sides?" He confirms. So I said, "Ok add the Mac n Cheese" and he asks if I want any additional sauces. I said just Ranch and some Ray Ray Sauce for the fries. He rings me up and repeats back, "10 Nugget Combo". I corrected him with "10 Wing Combo" and he re-rings the order, I pay and go have a seat. The girl goes into the kitchen, comes back out and says they are all out of the Sweet Red Chili sauce so I ordered the Stingin Honey Garlic. When the girl brings me the order, it's the 10 Wing Combo with Mac n Cheese and no Fries. I asked about the Fries and we looked at my order which said 10 Wing Combo-Mac n Cheese. I told her that the guy at the counter told me to pick 2 sides but no big deal since I got what I paid for (or so I thought-people count your wings!) and it was just miscommunication. Once I sat down to eat, there was no other interaction with the staff. I did notice the floor had dried up sauce in various places and the floor could use a good cleaning. About the food. The Mac n Cheese was served hot and it's basically noodles with velveeta cheese sauce which is fine for this type of establishment but I remember the other time I had visited, the Mac n Cheese was served in a cup and it had actual cheese melted on the top. The Garlic Parmesan Wings were amazing. Just how I remembered them from last time. The wings weren't served as hot as they should've been (IMO), but seemed like they had been precooked earlier in preparation for the Rush. The Garlic Parm wings had a generous amount of sauce on them. The Stingin Honey Garlic wings did not have enough sauce on them. Some parts of the chicken didn't have any sauce on them at all. The tea was good. And now that I'm uploading pictures, I see they only gave me 8 wings. 5 of the Garlic Parm and 3 of the Stingin Honey Garlic. I paid for 10, the receipt is shown in the picture. Just took another star off. Really wanted to give them at least 3 stars.

From the moment we walked through the door, the owners, Slim and his wife, Lynn, made us feel like family. Neither me, my family nor Slim are originally from Siler City, but you'd have thought we'd all known each other for 30 years. They were professional, genuinely welcoming, and went the extra mile to make sure everything was perfect. They brought our food out promptly and Lynn spent time working the room (lol) with her mix of warm, welcoming personality and a sense of humor that had customers smiling and laughing everywhere she went. Slim and I had a chance to chat a bit about his story, and at the same time he made sure everything was exactly the way it should be. Getting to know both of them and hearing about the journey they've been on over the last few years was honestly one of the highlights of our visit. Now let's talk about the food... absolutely phenomenal. The mild chicken wings were exactly what my family has been searching for ever since leaving the Southwest, where bold flavor and great food are simply the expectation. Today, I'm happy to report that The Bone Yard has officially become our East Coast BBQ spot! We sampled a little bit of everything, including the mild wings, a full rack of ribs, and a half pound of pulled pork topped with Slim's own Carolina mustard sauce. Every single item brought something unique to the table. Nothing tasted ordinary or mass produced. The ribs were tender, juicy, and practically fell off the bone. The pulled pork was packed with flavor, and that mustard sauce put it over the top. Every bite showed the care, passion, and pride that goes into the food. You can genuinely taste the difference. As I looked around the restaurant, all I saw were smiling faces enjoying incredible food, and I knew we weren't the only ones who felt this way. In our opinion, this is hands down the best BBQ we've had anywhere in North Carolina. Would we drive 40 minutes just to eat here again? Without hesitation... hell, we might do it again tomorrow. Five stars all day long. Incredible food. Incredible people. An unforgettable experience. Slim and Lynn have built something truly special, and we can't wait to come back. If you're anywhere near Siler City, do yourself a favor and make the trip. You'll leave full, happy, and already planning your next visit.

I ordered the hunan beef lunch special with egg roll and pork fried rice. I asked for steamed dumplings as well and was REALLY happy that I did. The dumplings are fresh made and loaded with savory meat, green onions and a nice sauce. They are bigger than I'm used to and I would call that a meal for one in and of itself. The egg roll was perfectly fried with a thin crispy skin. Great flavor came through with no nasty refrigeration taste. I did not need duck sauce. This is what I imagine an egg roll to be until I'm disappointed. Again- it was fantastic. The hunan beef had a tremendous portion. It was not loaded with sugar like it normally is. You can taste the ingredients. I found it very mild with no spice. I will ask for it to be made spicy the next time.
