Terrible. Then I went to the cashiers to ask If this was correct. Yes, these are "large" and not kiddy burgers. $10 for 2 midget burgers and an extra $1 for one spoon of chili. Pitiful

Needed to borrow reading material. Should have gone to Book Out. Needed help robbing a bank. Should have gone to Look Out. Needed help winning a chess game. Should have gone to Rook Out. Neede.... never mind. What to get: Cajun Chicken Sandwich, Burger, Fresh Banana shake, Sweet Tea. Even on the eve of Thanksgiving I was delighted to have the chance to visit the original Cook-Out location right here in Greensboro - which seems to give birth to a hundred different food chains - but none more delicious than Cook Out, with it's amazing burgers and Cajun Chicken sandwiches - not to mention the wonderful banana milkshakes and sweet teas. Service wasn't great but one of the employees was absolutely gorgeous so that made up for it. They served several people after closing time even the night before Thanksgiving - you can't really get better than that. I have to give them 5 stars for the food being so good and for them serving people late and staying open a holiday and for being the original location of perhaps my fave burger chain in the country, along with Swenson's. Just be aware that it's a dangerous area late at night - so be careful if you're on foot and stay alert. Greensboro is a poor town and this is a lively, rough intersection with a lot of action and craziness going on. Stay alert and then meet me back at my place. And remember to rock out with your Cook Out.

Solid Southern style Chile Dog with Slaw

This is another one of those places where you pretty much know what you'll get, and you pop in for a quick meal on the run, or for a specialty item you really like - in this case it was both - a Hershey's Chocolate Milkshake for Alice, and I grabbed a Southern Chili Dog with Slaw, and a Chopped BBQ Sandwich. The milkshake was outstanding as always, thick and creamy, and loaded with flavor - and frankly I don't know of a better one in the area! The sandwiches were solid, if not spectacular. The Hot Dog is probably the better of the 2 items - nice chili, decent wiener, good slaw, and a fresh bun. It's a bit sloppy, but then again many good things are. The BBQ sandwich is a notch or so above average, but it'll provide a quick pork fix. It lacks a certain amount of freshness, but soundly beats most "commercial" products found in non-BBQ joints in the state.

This may have been the slowest cookout I have ever been to! The only bright side was that the food was hot when I got it.

As someone who considers themselves kind of an authority on the humble hot dog (it's a taco by the…read moreway, not a sandwich), it's kind of surprising it took me this long to visit this Greensboro local staple on A&T's campus. Well, I happened to be out and about while a lot of people weren't just after the heavy snowstorm on that Monday, and happened to be in the area. Hot Dogs sounded great, so I pulled in. One thing you definitely cannot argue with is the price, especially on a Monday and Wednesday, where they feature all hot dogs for $1.25. A sum that is safe to say, ultra-rare, in this day and age. Going along with that, this place is pretty humble, as you might expect. Could use a little TLC, but of course that also comes with costs. Ultimately, if your hot dog slaps, you could just be serving off a plastic folding table for all I care. I ordered two Aggie dogs, side of onion rings, large half sweet half unsweet tea. One of the foibles of this place is that it is very hard to hear the person on the other end of the drive-thru speaker. But he eventually repeated back to me my correct order. Drove around and paid, then pulled up to the window where they give you your food. I'm not sure what went wrong here, but even though I was the only person there, I got someone else's order. Didn't realize that until I drove away, but luckily, I didn't go far. Realized it when I put my straw in and took a sip of Coke, not tea. Kind of wish I had kept the Coke. I did not enjoy the tea. It had a strange flavor. Other than the tea, now that I had the correct order... again, for the price, it was pretty strong. Messy hot dogs on soft buns, but tasty indeed. The Aggie dogs are basically your classic all-the-way southern dog with chili, slaw, mustard, onion. I got the beef hot dogs (they also offer turkey), great flavor on the frank, chili and slaw perfectly good. I could have downed 4 of these easy, and maybe next time I will at that price and forego any sides. The onion rings were actually nice though, very crispy, tasty. Anyhow, I bet you cannot beat this for cheap hot dogs anywhere in town, if not for the chaos on getting my correct order (and whatever happened with the tea) I would have surely given this a 5 on value and taste for said value.

I didn't have fond memories of my previous order, but this time around left a much different impression. My friend and I arrived around 5:45, and were welcomed in by the bartender. They told us to could sit anywhere where wanted, and they brought us menus once we found our seats. They've got plenty of tvs on the walls to catch any and all games at the same time. The menu offer s a great variety of burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, flat breads and salads. They also have a massive selection of bottled/canned beers, along with 16 different beers on tap. It took me a bit to make a decision, but something drew me to the meatloaf sandwich, and I have no regrets. It was fantastic, full of flavor, with a fantastic provolone cheese pull. I'm actually trying to figure out when I can go back and get another, sooner than later! For my side, i got tater tots, which they served with home made ranch. everything was fantastic, and great portions! Great visit, friendly staff, huge drink selection and many tasty food options. Today I stopped in for a to go order, but next time I plan on enjoying the patio with my pup Ziggy and try one of their burgers. I ordered the Madison Avenue which is a croissant smeared with honey walnut cream cheese, smoked turkey, and granny smith apples. My side was slaw and I also ordered fries with a side of ranch. Upon walking in the place appeared clean, the customer service, not the best. But maybe someone was having a bad day, I get it. I'm so glad I did check my bag before I left because they did not give me ranch or plasticware, man I would have missed out on some amazing ranch. The young man gave me three ranches which I'm so disappointed I only grabbed one. Unfortunately I didn't get the best pictures but the food tasted great. The fries were thick cut (probably frozen) and let me tell you, I would just come back for the ranch! They have my favorite restaurant ranch. The slaw was really tasty - good ole southern sweet mayonnaise slaw, not too vinegary. The sandwich, not bad, good combo of toppings, they paired well together. I' ll be back.
