Fried chicken is my weakness..on that note, Popeyes is my fast food favorite, and Bojangles would come in a close second. I love Bojangles, and I'm sad that their northern expansion only opens locations that are pale imitations-that is, this location and their location in Ohio only offers boneless chicken options and sides. Their flagship product is their bone-in chicken so it never made sense to me. Anyways, this location shares the same building as a Love's travel stop, so it's pretty convenient if you're on the go. I had a bad experience at this location; I ordered 6 biscuits and a half gallon of tea. When you order the tea, usually the person at the register gives you the tea before you leave the counter. However, in this case they did not, and so I had to ask for it when I received my biscuits. The cook obliged, but then the person who rung me up said that I was stealing tea from them as I hadn't paid for it. I showed the cook my receipt which clearly noted I paid for the tea, but the cashier kept on insisting that I didn't pay for it. I told them to check the cameras if they were so concerned, and I kept on offering the cashier to look at my receipt and I clearly didn't have any tea on me or in the restaurant before I came up to the counter. The cook was so confused as well. When I laid out my case, the cashier didn't admit that she was wrong and just brushed me off saying that she would "take care of it". The experience was super frustrating. Anyways, the sweet tea was great, but the biscuits were inconsistently baked, with some wan and super moist on the inside, and others overbaked. read more

I don't understand the bad reviews of this Bojangles. It's super clean, service is fast, and the food is ABSOLUTELY spiced and seasoned well. We love stopping for a stretch and a three piece tenders meal. The hand breading makes it extra special and their honey mustard is delicious! read more

I was spoiled in Tulsa with 8 major fried chicken chains and a million mom and pops. When I moved to Springfield last year I found kfc, popeyes and a Harold's. All of them are awful. Terrible service. Orders always wrong. I'm in Bloomington for a conference so I decided to see if their popeyes or kfc was any better. The 1.5 star reviews told me everything I needed to know. Then I see bojangles! Whaaat? No google reviews and only 11 at Yelp so it must be new. This isn't a full fledged bojangles. It's attached to a loves travel stop. It's basically chicken strips and chicken sandwiches and sides. Staff was polite and moving fast. Order was taken. I was asked if I want sauce. I know that sounds crazy but it's been a year since A. Anyone asked and B. Anyone actually gave me. The sauces I wanted. I got back to my hotel and found a fork in the bag for my Mac n cheese. What? Popeyes and kfc don't just give you anything. Chicken strips were perfect. Mac n cheese is typical crockpot fast food Mac n cheese but it tastes good. BBQ sauce is great. If they keep up this pace and quality they will be the number one fried chicken joint. Super jealous that we don't have one in Springfield. We got a caines but it's not as good. read more

I stopped for breakfast sandwiches this morning and was very impressed. The bacon, egg & cheese biscuit was like something you'd get at a nice Cafe, quite elevated for fast food. High quality bacon. The chicken and biscuit was just that, both ingredients great quality. I'd like to try it with the pimento cheese spread. I got take-out a few weeks ago & was very impressed with the mac & cheese. Second trip here. Waited in line quite a while, there was only three workers there on a holiday weekend....seems under staffed. Every time a new group came up to order, the cashier kept looking back to who I'm assuming was the shift manager and asking if they had something they were ordering. Once we ordered, the cashier gave us our sauces, but they were the wrong ones and he disappeared before we could ask for different ones. At the drink station, the iced tea was practically empty, there was soda leaked all over the counter, the ketchup container had a layer of water at the bottom and they were almost out of medium lids. Obviously, they'd been busy and hadn't had time to restock. The dining area kinda confirmed the same...tables needed cleaned and there was bbq spilled on the floor in front of the trash area. And once again, the sweet tea is still not sweet. Food also tasted like it had been sitting in a warmer for a bit. read more

This location is so underrated! My wife and I placed a carry out order for lunch. We got a combo with 5 tenders, coleslaw, biscuit, fries and drink. The tenders are nice sized portions with white meat chicken that is well seasoned!! The tenders have a kick but are not too spicy. The tenders are cooked perfectly and are moist! The coleslaw is creamy,crunchy and has a good flavor! The fries have a seasoning on them and are pretty good! We washed it all down with a good sweet tea! Biscuits are great! Very new. I lived in NC for 20 years. This is not the Bojangles that remember. No chicken pieces. Only tenders. Flavor was ok. Dirty rice was bland and a very small serving. The south is known for seet tea...this was not it. The tea was weak and not nearly sweet enough. The place was very clean. A nice touch having the biscuit maker highlighted behind glass. If only she looked Iike she liked her job. Be prepared to wait. 10 mins to get my order. read more

A big disappointment! At first, I was so excited to have a Bojangles in the general area. When we went to have lunch, we discovered that they do NOT serve bone in chicken like the Bojangles down south does. Just tenders! Dried up tenders! So much breading on them, you can hardly see the meat. They did not get our order right. They missed our 2 sides! Didn't realize until we got home. ALWAYS CHECK YOUR ORDER BEFORE YOU LEAVE. They did say they would give me 2 sides the next time I come in. Well who knows when that will be because we live 45 minutes away, and don't want to eat tenders again. Tenders are tasty. Fries are unique and seasoned. Biscuits are flaky and warm. Dipping sauces are a good size portion and delicious. Wait time was less than a minute. But when I went to get a Sarah missed there was no syrup. When I asked one of the workers about the syrup they said oh yeah there is none hooked up. She also said really none of the drinks taste correct. And then I asked her what happens when someone fills their glass with Sierra mist starts down the road and realizes it's only carbonated water? This location has only been open 3 weeks, so keep that in mind. I've never eaten at one, so I was excited to try it. We walked in at 6:00 on a Saturday and it was busy but not jam packed. The menu doesn't include anything on a bone, no fried chicken, no wings. I forgot to ask if that will change. I ordered tenders and my husband ordered a chicken sandwich. We both got fries. I did ask about the pimento cheese and the cashier said she had never tried it. We walked over to get our drinks and every napkin dispenser was empty. We could only find one clean table and I noticed other customers started cleaning their own tables. It took about ten minutes to get our food, but happily it was worth the wait. We agreed the food was good and it was served hot. They included a biscuit and it lived up to the hype. We will go back. read more

Only have children tenders. No bone in chicken. So they don't have entire menu as they have in the south. No online ordering either.

This location is ridiculous. They don't offer fried chicken only tenders. This is supposed to be Bojangles. That's seriously like McDonalds not having burgers. Why even bother? I haven't been to any of the other IL locations but I hope this is an isolated joke and not a new trend. read more

The service was terrible, employees standing around ignoring us. After a long wait we ordered, the place smelled like burnt food. When we finally got our food it not only smelled burnt but tasted burnt. We couldn't eat it , we complained at the counter and were told, "that's what we got". We were ignored and they did nothing about it. pathetic menu, chicken tenders only. The only good thing was the drinks. tried some berry biscuits, they were stale and hard. do not go there!!!!! We complained online to the home office, they told us they would replace our meal. After two weeks we messaged them again and were told they would expedite our complaint.
