I could like this place more if the food wasn't so so salty. I tasted big hunks of salt in the guac, like someone forgot to thoroughly mix it. Go easy on the salt! The chicken and beans are already salty. The chips were stale the last 2x I came here. Friendly staff and the queso is good - again no need to add more salt to that either! Go easy on the salt man! Lots of us have high BP! One last thing: a little too cold in the place. Food gets cold too fast. Check that a/c temp so it's cool not freezing! I still like this place! Came in and thought I would have a steak burrito bowl. Ordered it and it was so salty I couldn't eat it. Picked at it for 5-10 minutes. They added a lot of salt when they cooked their steak. Not coming back for while. It will have to be somewhere else if I want a bowl. Guys' I'm not a picky eater and I couldn't eat it. Left 95% in the trash. Gross. Usually I like Moe's food a lot. Fresh and consistent. Great when traveling because you know what you are getting. We decided to go here while passing through on our way back to STL two weeks ago. However, this place had an absolutely filthy kitchen which you can see as a customer. I was really surprised. Food was barely edible. Queso had a hard film on it. I ordered food made with corn tortillas on the menu and was given flour. Unfortunately I'm gluten intolerant but ate the inside and hoped for the best. If I wasn't starving I would have just thrown it in the trash and walked out. If this place is owned by the company they need to replace the manager. We're big fans of Moe's and have eaten in many different locations. Usually the service and the food at Moe's is great. Such is generally not the case at this location in regards to the service. We've eaten at the location in Bloomington, IL on many occasions and everything is usually spot-on. The Normal location, however, lacks in the Service department. There isn't much of a sense of urgency in the staff, they seem to be less friendly than those at other locations, and they don't tend to pay a lot of attention to the condition of the dining room. On a recent visit one of the trash containers was full. Not just full, but FULL...as in people we setting their trays and trash ON the container because there was no room IN the container. Two of the salsa containers on the salsa bar were empty, and the floor looked like it hasn't seen a broom in hours. To be fair, the food tasted great and the service was efficient (if not rushed). We love the menu at Moe's, and their Monday and Tuesday specials can't be beat for $5. If they could only pay a little more attention to the front of the house I'd have gladly given them a better rating, and we'd more willing to visit more often. read more

Good burritos. The concept is pretty much the same as Qdoba and Chipotle. Except that Moe's includes a side of crispy chips with their entrees. They also have a sauce bar with different salsas that you can try. It seems that the past couple times I've been there, the food has not been as hot as I'd like - temperature-wise. Moe's has frozen margaritas that are good and pretty strong, surprisingly. We were there on a Thurs. night and they had 1/2 price margarita pitchers for like $6 (our good deal of the day!) and we were sufficiently toasty after finishing it! All in all, when I crave Mex, my go tos are still Herradura or Taqueria El Porton. read more

Pretty much the exact same as Qdoba and Chipotle, but they give you unlimited free chips and salsa. They also have whole grain tortillas and tofu (which my wife likes). The best thing about Moe's is the green Tomatillo Salsa. It is made fresh in the store, and it is delicious. I'm not big on chains, but this one is an exception. read more

Usually a great place to go. Love the one on the other end of town but this one is terrible. The building is extremely dirty. Plus we asked them to throw some shredded cheese on top of our free chips for our 4 year old. They charged us 8$ and called them "veggie nachos." Every time we come in here, everyone is greeted with smiling faces. Very rarely is there a line, that might be due to our timing or the quick work of these fantastic employees. The shift manager, Courtney, is always pleasant; even in the face of stupidity and self righteous customers who feel that the world owes them something. I waited in line starving for 15 minutes while I waited for an associate to wrap my burrito that looked something like a mixture of cream of cheddar soup, beans, corn, and tomatoes on a tortilla. I paid $20 for two creations which would be ideal at any other Moe's location. Please drive the extra 15 minutes and do not come here, or bring a ladle to dish out your burrito. read more

The ingredients are always fresh and the food never disappoints, but I still have to give it a 3 for high prices. It's got the same type of cuisine as Chipotle and Q'doba, though more options than the former and better food and atmosphere than the later. There are different names for the usual, but I go with the chicken tacos. I've also tried the steak quesadilla (decent), but I'm stubborn once I've found a favorite at places around town. Make sure you get a cup of queso for the tortilla chips, it's delicious. Tips: Sometimes on campus they give out coupon books that usually include one or two for Moe's. By far WAY better then Chipotle and Qudoba. Their burritos are amazingly delicious. I get the same thing every time (a burrito with Chicken, Cheese, Lettuce, and Sour Cream) and although there isn't much on the burrito itself, it never fails to impress. I'm not sure about the other meats that they offer, but the Chicken is always very flavorful and even a bit salty, but I very much enjoy it. They have discounts on certain days and Monday is a good day to go if you're a burrito lover. They also have coupons in the Pantagraph, so keep your eyes open for ways to save. read more

My first time at Moe's today. Pretty decent. Like Chipotle or Qdoba's hipper, cooler cousin...or maybe a wannabe hipper, cooler cousin. They belt out, "WELCOME TO MOE's" periodically when people walk in the door. The guys behind the counter that were making the burrito's were somewhat peculiar with responses, but didn't know if that was part of their niche. They have this state of the art interactive touch screen soda machine. Pretty gimicky and gets annoying after a while (to wait in a line as people fidget and look and pick their drinks). The guy behind me asked me if I knew where their soda machines were...and I pointed to the front of the line of where we were standing. The germaphobe in me was hesitant to touch the screen with all the slimy fingerprints, but the nerd in me was like, cool, just do it! At the end of our meal, I had tried 3 or 4 different drink combinations. So that was fun. But the food was just okay. Atmosphere is pretty nice...bolder, cleaner atmosphere than Chipotle or Qdoba...but since I live closer to the latter, don't foresee many visits to Moe's, unless we're in the area and out of eating options. read more

Burritos are okay but not as good as Chipotles. We usually come here when they have a BOGO coupon deal on the entrees. They give you chips w/ the entrees but not as much meat as Chipotle (overall burrito comes out smaller than Chipotle ,also). Although I've never had them, they have fajitas. Normally like Moe's but this was the dirtiest Moe's I have ever seen. The food line was a dirty mess and it looked like the containers had not been washed. The drink station was covered in dust and food. Underneath the coke machine was absolutely horrendous. Floors were unswept, bathroom was dirty and it smelled like dirty feet. I am not exaggerating. I decided to visit Moe's today while I waited for my tires to be rotated at the tire place across the way. It was about 2:20 pm, so well beyond the lunch hour. As I approached the counter and glanced at the food to decide what to order, I noticed that the entire "kitchen" was a filthy mess. There was food all over the place, on the counters, floor, etc. At least a third of the food containers (beans, rice, steak) were empty. There were packages, boxes, food wrappers everywhere. The garbage receptacle had salsa smeared all over it. The floors were dirty. It was disgusting. There were only 2 workers in the place, but it wasn't busy. I have never been to a more disgusting restaurant. I love Moe's, but will not visit that gross place again. read more

I had really high hopes for this place, but was a little let down. I loved that they have the stacks which are like the Taco Bell crunch wrap supreme. And they have tofu as an option. And chips and salsa are free. They had a lot going for them, but the quality and flavor just wasn't there. The tofu had no flavor so my stack tasted like nothing. The salsa wasn't any good either. The one positive is they have $5 burrito and drink Monday's which is a really good deal so if I went back I would go for that. This particular Moe's is not as good as others in terms of friendliness and how enthusiastically they say 'Welcome to Moe's!' The one in Normal does not do Moe's justice. read more

Went here a few weeks ago at 11am and it was disgustingly filthy. Tried it again yesterday and I guess no one ever cleans. You could scrap gunk up with a putty knife on the floor. The end lady at the cashier is bugging you to pay when there's 2 of us and we are only half way down the line! We used to go here a lot and it used it to be clean. Not for the simple taco eater. Although the quality of the taco is actually very good, its insanely overpriced. There special "Taco Tuesday" deal is an absolute joke, 2 taco's and a drink for $6!!! Taco Johns has a deal for 2 taco's for $1 and they are nearly as good as Moe's. At Taco Johns i will get 6 or 8 taco's for either $3 or $4. If i did that at Moe's i'd be spending either $18 or $24!!!! So because of the horrid price i will get a $6 tiny portion of food and leave the place still very hungry and disappointed. Moe's has good food for the price. Only issue I have with this location is the size..too small for the amount of business they do...and not always consistent with freshness/taste (of ingredients) and quantity ( of ingredients) given what you ordered. Still, can't ever go wrong with Moe Monday!! read more
