Come hungry!!!!!!! Good deal for the amount of food you get at this local spot for hot pot! It's worth the splurge because you can stay as long as you want during operating hours of course, and the portion sizes they bring you are huge! Try it all! Plenty of free parking! Service was friendly and our waitress tried hard!

Loved this place! It's a bit of a hole in the wall, tucked into a shopping center that seems to be struggling a bit. As is the case, there's plenty of parking in the area. When we went, they were not accepting reservations, though it's not clear if that was a situational thing or if that's how it always is. There were plenty of tables, so it all worked out. They have a full bar, and had some drink specials, even on a Saturday night. When you sit down, you will find a piece of paper with all the ingredients you can choose. We selected 2 broths, Tom Yum and House, and then several meats, fish and veggies. I especially appreciated that the Ingredients were grouped by how long they should cook in the broth. Once you've made your selections, they will bring out a pot to set on the hot plate. Then they'll bring out your selections! Remember, you can cook things a little at a time. No need to throw everything in at once. This is a nice group or date meal/experience. I would also recommend going in person to this restaurant, rather than takeout, given the experience element!

In the words of my daughters, this dining experience was a 10/10! The food was delicious! Everything was fresh and proportioned just right. The broths were seasoned well. This food was so good and we ate to our heart's delight! The ambiance is laid back and can accommodate multiple persons per group. This experience would be best with two or more people. The service was amazing. James, the host was fantastic as was Malika, our server. Malika was personable and knowledgeable about the experience. She was awesome!

Boiling Pot I was taken here by a friend. Nice decor. The pots were huge and the meat and vegetables were fresh. Really nothing to complain about. I've been to many Hotpot establishments and this one is a solid restaurant. Our waiter was excellent. Overall a good experience. One last thing, the white rice bowl was huge. Nice. Not AYCE but decent. Recommended.

First time. Ada took care of us. She was very nice and informative. Very attentive as well. The restaurant was kind of busy when we got there but the food came out quickly. Everything was very good and huge portions. The broth had amazing flavor and everything seemed fresh. Would def be coming back.

a combination of ingredients in the broth: spicy sezchuan and miso.

walking into the restaurant with little to no knowledge of how hotpot works, i'd be lying if i said i wasn't intimidated. our wait was brief, thankfully, as i have the anxiety of an anxious squirrel on a highway. right off the bat, our server, dallas, was warm and welcoming. honestly, she made the experience even better. drinks were always full, she wasn't overbearing... girl knew what she was doing. as for the food, we chose our broths and ingredients; we had so many options. for $30/person, i was pleased with the amount of food we were given. it was fresh, vibrant, and so real. 11/10. the one thing that initially made me hesitant about the restaurant was its look. overall, it's outdated and a bit drab. the music was... cringe, tables are kind of scrunched together, it was easy to listen in on other conversations, but this didn't affect me much. i definitely recommend this place for hotpot. it's a little hole-in-the-wall, but the food is totally worth it.

Decided I wanted unlimited seafood today and the Boiling Pot was the perfect place. As soon as I ordered my food came out in about 15 mins If that long. I couldn't even order another round because it was so much food. I've been here a few times and I enjoy all options and I will return.

Highly recommend coming here! Such a fun experience. You pay about $35 for all you can eat and the food is so good! Our waiter was so nice and we had such an amazing experience. That atmosphere is pretty laid-back but the cooking style is so cool that this is a great spot for dates or special events.

Very frozen seafood. Unusual.

Been to many hot pot restaurants from North Carolina to California and this was one of my least favorite. Service was pretty much non-existent, food quality was mediocre and no sauce station? What?! Unheard of. We saw that there wasn't a sauce station so we ordered some sauces from the menu, they NEVER came and we didn't see our waitress until the end of the meal and at the point the sauce was no longer needed. Yes, they give you some basics like Chinese bbq sauce, garlic, very watered down peanut sauce, onions and soy sauce but where was the vinegar? Ponzu? Sesame oil? Oh and order what you want at the beginning because they won't be back to ask you if you want anything more. What was really mind boggling was the frozen solid seafood. The meatballs were frozen together in a block of ice, the oysters are the frozen kind you get from the Korean market in a freezer section and the shrimps were the frozen kind too. The shrimps had no flavor at all. The beefs we ordered were okay but the pork belly was not good. Crab Rangoon was decent but the gyoza needed seasoning on the meat. It's sad to say that at a hot pot restaurant the only decent thing was the crab Rangoon. If you don't know hot pot, this place will probably do. But if you do, you'll be disappointed. If you do go, don't forget to get the veggie essentials for the your hot pot: watercress, tong ho, baby bok choy and Chinese cabbage.

Ingredients for dipping sauce(not a lot of variety but does make a delicious sauce)

If you're looking for AYCE hot pot, this is the place in Charlotte to go. They also serve seafood boil and Asian entrees, which I've never personally had. When you get hot pot, you get to choose your broth, meats, seafood, veggies, noodles, and any appetizers. We got the Tom Yum broth split with the House broth. Both broths were tasty, the Tom Yum was nice and tangy. You're given a plate of ingredients to make your dipping sauce, which results in a tasty sauce, however I would prefer a bigger selection of ingredients. Everything came out at once and categorized(meats, veggies, seafood). All you gotta do is boil the food until fully cooked, dip it in your dipping sauce and enjoy! Everything tasted really good. The only critique I had was that despite not being busy during lunch, the server only checked on us once and the hot pot broth never got refilled with stock as it evaporated from the pot, but by then, we were wrapping up our meal. COVID precautions noticed: tables were distanced at least 6ft, staff and patrons were masked, and giant bottles of sanitizer all around the bar for use. If you're craving hot pot and you're in the Northlake area of Charlotte, this is a good place to stop by.

Are any of the broths gluten free? I love hot pot and have been dying to go, but am celiac.

Are you guys vegan friendly?

They have lots of vegan options!

Is single person welcome?

Yes of course

Are you guys doing dine in?

Yes they are and it was pretty full because of the reduced tables

Looking at the menu it seems all to be a la carte. But the website says it's $27.50 for all you can eat. Can anyone please let me know what it really is? Reviews are not very clear. And is it up by Northlake?…

All you can eat is off of the hot pot (aka Chinese founder) menu which comes with apps and dessert! Think melting pot.. but unlimited :) super close to Northlake mall

What's the difference between the boiling pot and the melting pot restaurants?

These restaurants are not affiliated in any way. The Boiling Pot is more of an Asian Fusion restaurant focused on asian style "Hot Pot" meals. They have a fairly wide array of options for the contents of the hot pot including the broth(s), noodles,…

I have been here a bunch but it's been a while and I decided the restaurant week deal was too good to pass up. The value for money is probably the best out of all restaurants participating. Everything we had to eat was phenomenal (meat and cheese, patatas bravas, croquettes, flank steak, cheesecake). Mainly writing this review because of the service - I joked with the sommelier (?) that you'd never know this is technically a "chain" because the experience is so intimate and feels local. Our hostess (so sorry can't remember her name) checked us in and let us grab a drink at the bar as we were early to our reservation. When my boyfriend went over to ask about the potential for getting a booth, because we're both very tall, she remembered his name and made it happen. Our server, Nick, was the best. So attentive without being too much, and timed each course perfectly so we weren't overwhelmed with food nor waiting around for the next dishes. Our sommelier (I think that's what it is) was also a delight to have around. The manager came over when we first got seated to give us water for the table, and I really appreciated seeing that as opposed to someone overseeing in the background. It's so nice to see a restaurant function efficiently without sacrificing personality and experience.

It's tucked away in a business park near Lincoln's Haberdashery but signage is good. There is parking in the lot of the u-shaped building, but may be all taken at busier hours if the day. Street parking is available on E. Bland. They have a huge bar and amazing bartenders. I enjoyed my drink. Pretty and tasty. There's lots of seating inside, at the bar, booth and tables. The menu has really good variety I enjoyed pretty much everything I tried. So fresh and so good. My fav were the dips. If you order the whipped feta or hummus you get an order of the amazing grilled bread. When I say it was good, I mean it. Plating was beautiful on every dish. I appreciate the effort that went into not only making the food taste good, but also making it look good. Our server was great - really patient and helpful. He gave great descriptions and recommendations of the menu. The chef came out to greet us, everyone really went out of their way to make it a great visit. What I appreciated most is that the prices are reasonable - Something that is becoming harder to find these days, but that allows you to really enjoy the meal and try various items. That's what I plan to come back and do. I hope they get more media attention because this place is really is amazing.

Thankfully, I was out with an excellent foodie friend--which means we came quite close to having one of each. We enjoyed a delightful lineup of scallops--not what I expected, but exponentially better!--lion's mane schwarma, hummus, shrimp, tuna kofta, lamb shank, and the IG-famous baklava sundae. With each dish seemingly more visually impressive, delightful to all the senses, & DELICIOUS--the layers of FLAVOR that Chef Whitney & her squad can fit into a dish never ceases to amaze me--it was hard to declare a clear favorite. All I can say is the shrimp, lamb shank, & baklava are must-haves for me. All of this plus a complimentary shot at the end of the night of a craft concoction featuring house-made orangecello?!!! I am already beyond ready for my next visit! Pro Tip: 1 round of bread will never be enough for your hummus--get extra for dipping...into everything. Cheers!

I ordered the street tacos with the papas bravas, while my boyfriend got the carne asada. The papas bravas were the coldest, most under-seasoned potatoes I've ever been served. For the tacos, I tried the duck and the carne asada. The duck was dry but edible. The carne asada taco, however, was practically a weapon against mankind--the most charred, burnt, and flavorless taco I've ever had. I could only finish it after adding some of the sauce from my boyfriend's steak. As for the carne asada entrée, it looked like two separate steaks had been pieced together into one. The center pieces were noticeably undercooked and inedible. The only standout on the plate was the reduction sauce. The potato pavé was simply... potato, relying heavily on that same sauce to carry the dish. It was a highly disappointing experience, especially since we were excited to finally try the "sibling" restaurant to Crunkleton and Rosemont. We genuinely enjoy both of those restaurants and have brought family there several times, but never had the chance to visit Puerta until now. Sadly, it felt like a waste of money. The aesthetic was beautiful, but that's about where the positives ended. One additional concern was food handling. Our bartender repeatedly touched her hair and face while wearing the same gloves she used to handle drink garnishes, which was disappointing to see. I truly hope they regroup, tighten up the execution, and improve the overall experience because there's a lot of potential here.

The duck taco was the standout for me--the crispy fried duck skin added the perfect texture and flavor. We also shared the Para la Mesa with sweet corn on the side, empanadas, and churros for dessert. The empanadas were incredible, especially with that amazing sauce that had just the right kick of spice. The wagyu steak from the Para la Mesa was another favorite, cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. And I can't forget to mention the warm, fresh tortillas--they were absolutely delicious and elevated every bite. Sometimes it's the little details that make a meal memorable, and these tortillas definitely did. If I had to pick my top three items, they would be the duck taco, the wagyu steak, and the empanadas.
