This spot is so good. I visited with my friends and we all ordered seafood combos and they filled us up. The crab legs were great quality and corn was delicious. They give you a lot of sausage in the combos too read more

What a breath of fresh air! I've visited this place two times and look forward to coming again. The seafood boils are tasty and satisfying and the staff is friendly and engaging. I feel bad they are located in an area with so much construction, but once word gets out it's going to be hard to get a seat at this restaurant. The prices are fair for the quality and the menu options are diverse and surprising. I like the options to choose flavor and heat for my boil. I'm a light eater and i had enough leftovers for a second meal. If there were any changes I would make it would be only atmospheric. They play classical piano music that doesn't quite fit into the sensibility of the restaurant. If it's a creole restaurant maybe some creole jazz/blues to set a better tone. The restaurant was so quiet and I wasn't comfortable having conversation because it was so quiet. The attitude was more upscale than the menu suggested. It'd be nice to see them loosen up a bit. There are not too many places in the area serving traditional boils and creole food so I know this place will quickly become a favorite amongst locals. I hope to return soon! read more

Considered telling the people waiting to get seated as we were leaving to save their time/money and go to McDonald's. Gas station sushi, no water refills, bill was incorrect read more

If you're traveling through Akron or live there you must give this place a try. This is hands down the best restaurant experience my wife and I ever had. We drove 45 mins to try it out and it was well worth it! The food was outstanding and in big portions! Our server, Be, was absolutely wonderful! Very nice to us and every other table we saw him service. The assistant owner, I didn't get her name, had such a genuine smile and gladly talked to us a bit before we left. She was so bubbly and seemed to truly love her job and be interested in us and our story. Not to mention, there was an event going on in town so we had no parking and she went out of her way to make us a custom parking spot. I've never had any place do that for us. Before we left, after our meal, Be came over to us and asked if we drink alcohol, we did not have any with our meal, and we said yes so he brought us a free mixed drink. Just an incredible time overall. We will most definitely be back soon and suggest everyone give this place a try! Thank you to everyone that works there for an amazing experience we won't forget! read more

I have never been steered so completely wrong by Yelp. Biggest. Ripoff. Ever. I wasn't expecting to be blown away by the seafood in Akron, but this was beyond disappointing. We went here based on the reviews and i have to wonder if we were even in the same place as those who gave such high marks. I ordered the #1 combo and my "1/2 pound" of snow crab was a small cluster that was so over cooked that I couldn't get much more than a few shreds of dry meat out. And i have never been to a "seafood restaurant " that charges extra for drawn butter. My husband had the king crab legs, which were a few knuckle sections with very little meat. The service was the only good part about this experience...we should have followed our instincts and left when we saw how empty the place was at 7 pm on a Friday night. read more

Food was mostly good. I had a sushi roll and shared a seafood boil. The crab legs were mostly meatless but everything else was great. Server was decent but could've checked on us more as my sons drink sat empty at the end of the table for almost 10 minutes. But she was friendly. read more

They give you a very good amount of food for the price you pay , it's fresh seafood with great flavor Definitely recommend this place to others that enjoy seafoods! read more

This establishment has rude and disrespectful management , when people come for a good time and to spend their hard earned money we expect good customer service and food that matches the price ...The atmosphere is racist and the food is far from fresh.....Moving to downtown Akron means nothing if your service and food sucks. I urge other patrons to seek a place that will offer both a relacing fun atmosphere as well as great food because this is not the place !!!!! read more

Patience is a virtue and you'll need it here! The food was absolutely delicious but it took almost an hour to receive it after we ordered. When you first arrive, you'll be scared because the menu looks like it came from a cheap Chinese food menu & my husband told me not to expect anything good. Once we were sat and ordered, it took forever to get our food. We made jokes that they needed to drive to Costco to get the crab legs...had to go to fishing to get his fried fish but once the food arrived it was DE-LICIOUS! I recommend you try it but when you don't have anything else going on read more

The only that was good was the wings. The boiling bag I had the crab legs was way over cooked I couldn't hardly crack them. The seasoning was SALTY the corn was overcooked. IF I went back it would only be for the wings. read more

Well I'm going to say the yelp reviews to Boiling House led us right here. Amazing! Friendly staff excellent seafood! They keep it simple and it is brilliant. We are new to the area and about 50 miles from this jem. Pretty sure the next time we are going to Cleveland when I see the sign for Akron my mouth will water! read more

Amazing food and service!!! We had such a nice meal for a fun date night out! We split a combo and honestly I would 100% recommend this restaurant. I will be going back for sure!! read more

Very good seafood boils. The sauces are unparalleled. The only thing is I wish they had blue crab a bit more often. I have yet to treat it as a sit down restaurant I usually just order take out but its definitely a go to seafood restaurant especially considering its Akron. read more

This place is great, The food is wonderful and the service was pleasant. The portions are huge!!! I will be coming back here for sure!

It was really good, I thank you for a great meal. The squid/octopus I had eaten was fantastic and so was the sushi. My grandma had the snow crab legs and those were good too. read more

Recently moved to Akron and was craving seafood. Checked this place out and liked it. Our waitress was really nice. I got the combo 1 (1 cluster of crab legs, crawfish, and peeled shrimp) with medium spiced Cajun seasoning. I didn't think it was gonna be a lot so I ordered extra crawfish. I guess my eyes were bigger than my stomach. I was excited to find something closer to home instead of having to drive 30+ mins. Will definitely be back. read more

If I could give this restaurant a negative review I would. This was our first and last time going to this restaurant. Decided to try something new- would eat red lobster ANY DAY compared to this. Biggest waste of $95. Dirty martini tasted terrible- not sure if it was the olive juice or bar tender who had no clue how to make it. Beware all food served in a plastic bag bag on a lunch tray. Very tacky and pretty gross. King crab legs disappointing and literally served in a bag with a potato and half ear of corn. No bread or salad served with $36 meal. Service was poor. Big chalk board states SUSHI HALF OFF TUESDAYS. yet the sushi bar isn't open yet...no sushi menu yet but the waitress said she could get us a California roll. The roll fell apart before putting it in the soy sauce. I would not be surprised if they don't stay in business. I can't begin to explain the lack off food you get in a clear plastic bag on a lunch tray. This may be one of the worst meals I've had in a long time. 100% will not be returning. Would not recommend to anyone!!! read more

Was just ok. A bit pricey. Chicken sandwich $10?? Most people dont even make $10/HR..you telling me I have to work over an hour for a chicken sandwich lol. Wings seemed like they could have stayed in the fryer a few more minutes. To each his own just not for me. Nice interior and atmosphere. read more

Awesome seafood, cooked to perfection. Nice portions and at a fair price. Nice find for Akron.

This spot is horrible.I spent over a 100 dollars and THE food was nasty and the owner are very rude .NEVER AGAIN

I really love this place you should check it out it has great food and nice serves. You will never regret it just trust me

The Boiling House is so much fun. We had a hilarous time cracking crabs with a huge group for a birthday. They were really helpful explaining all the sauces to choose from, for your bag! Don't miss the corn fritters, they are delish! #justreviewit read more

We had the number 3 combo w the house juicy sauce for 2 people. It was amazing, large amount of food, tasted delicious, mussels were huge. The staff was very nice and friendly. Boiling House - Seafood Near Me - Akron, Ohio

Yesterday, several of my friends and I dined at this restaurant to celebrate my birthday. The food was okay, but the service was HORRIBLE. They never checked on us our entire visit unless we waved down a waitress and they still took forever just to bring/refill water. Together we spent approximately $300 and they charged each of us an automatic 18% gratuity for a group of 6 or more even though our service was atrocious. Everyone still paid the tip except 2 people who knew the tips weren't earned. So, the waitress did get approximately $50 in gratuity but was denied the remaining $16 from the other 2 guest. When we reported to management why they refused to pay the "Mandatory" 18 % gratuity they said regardless of the service it's there policy to charge the gratuity for parties with 6 or more people and no apology for the horrible service was ever given. As a matter of fact they called the POLICE and wanted to file a theft charge against my guest for the $16 Tip that they felt entitled to. Sooo, recap: $300 meals (PAID) $50 tip (PAID) $16 tip (UNPAID) So they called the police. I WILL NEVER give this business a $1 of my hard earned money again. I've never known a business to be so petty over a $16 tip they didn't deserve due to their lack of customer service. Is it just me or have these people gone crazy. ‍ BTW, the Police stated it's not illegal not to pay gratuity especially for bad service. What y'all think? Should the $16 additional tip been paid or unpaid on principal????? read more

I will never step foot back in this restaurant EVER AGAIN! POOR employee attitudes, poor service! I waited 10 minutes before I received service and I was the only one in the restaurant with my daughter! read more

This place is a great eat out and i would recommend this place i just didnt fine the pops to b ok they really need to upgrade there pepsi products but other then that there lemonade drink is great and so is the sea food read more

Tried it for lunch today after walking past it many times. Decided to try the squid and give it a go. It was excellent! I like spicy foods and so I went with the medium Cajun spice which was right where I like it. I ate the corn last and with all that spice on it, it was just great. Mild would have been too mild for my taste I think. Someday down the road I may try the hot spice. On my way out, the manager patiently answered my naïve questions and helped me understand the other menu choices and how I would go about eating them. Next I think I will try the head on shrimp. Physically, the restaurant is very nice and the staff was excellent. On my way out, she thanked me for coming in which was a nice touch. read more

Don't let the location deter you, this place really deserves more attention. Great food and service. Ordered the corn fritters, cajun hot wings and HOUSE JUICY combo #1. All super amazinggg. House juicy and Cajun hot are the two most popular choices and the difference is house juicy is sweeter. All the seafood and chicken was cooked perfectly tender and juicy. Even the corn on the cob was the best corn I've ever had. Order with rice as it goes perfectly with the seafood. Would highly recommend! read more

We stopped in on Sunday. Best kept secret. I always thought I disliked mussels, these were so fresh & tender. The calamari was so very tender. Next time I'll ask for it to fry 2 minutes longer. I will be going back!! read more

I ordered the fried catfish sandwich, it was gross. Our server was absolutely horrible. Never asked how the food was, never refilled the drinks, took forever just to get us drinks. i love this place! the house juicy sauce is amazing. a little bit pricey, but well worth it .

Very good selection of steamed seafood. Service is excellent and bartenders are friendly. Only thing holding it from 5 stars is the lack of selection of non-seafood items. While it is understood that this is a crab house, not everyone in our party likes seafood. Overall I'd highly recommend. read more

2 words, yum and fun!! So glad to have found this place. My husband and I are definitely foodies and this place is our new favorite. We ordered the combo #3 which came with crab leg, clams, sausage, shrimp, corn on the cob and potatoes. We also ordered an extra corn, salad and a side of fries. It was sooooo good! It comes out steaming hot in a plastic bag on a tray. We poured it out onto the tray so you could see everything and easily pick it up. Comes with bibs and plastic gloves that you will definitely need. We got a side of butter and a Cajun butter that I highly recommend if you like a kick. I think we chose the garlic butter that everything was smothered in. We ate every last morsel. Even those French fries were amazing. We had 2 glasses of wine and 2 jack and cokes and our bill came to $67 for all of that. Great deal for how awesome the food was. And it was fun! Also excellent service. I just can't say enough. We will absolutely be back for more! read more

The snow crab legs are great! I had the cajun sauce too and its really good! But the shrimp are head on so if you are against that at all don't order the shrimp. Its the only place to get Blue Crab but the crabs are small and not meaty at all. Bottom line is that they are great but mostly because there is no competition. You also can't beat the amount of seafood you get either! MMm read more
