Please note - Yelp describes a 2-star rating as "Meh. I've experienced better." However, because this was our first experience with an orthodontist, we have not yet 'experienced better.' That said, we do not plan on returning to Dr. Bohman for a second round of braces. At this point, we are extremely underwhelmed. By "we," I mean me (who made and took child to all appointments) and my child (who had the braces). The most notable problem was that my child told me that the ortho technician who took off the braces and space-savers on and off was rough and not so friendly. My child is a sweet personality and pretty gracious with everyone. For this to be noted was unusual and so I believe it. I understand that putting braces on and off teeth requires skilled force, but I think when working with younger people, a friendly, caring atmosphere/person should be able to soften this experience. The tech may have been having an off-day, but that one day left a bad impression. The staff is going to reflect well/poorly on Dr. Bohman, depending on who is working for him. I think maybe once, my child's name was on the "Welcome" board in the front lobby. We would always look at it to see who was being seen for the day and my child's name was never there. We're not sure how you get your name on that white board. The front desk staff was OK. They were patient with scheduling monthly appointments. Dr. Bohman seems to have more limited hours than other pediatric offices in our area. This caused only mild issues with our being able to get in to see him with our school/work schedule. That said, the last time we were in, the lady at the front desk seemed groggy/tired. We were in at mid-day. One time before that, she was doing her hair. It's not a great impression for the office. Dr. Bohman was one of several orthodontists recommended by our pediatric dentist, and we did our best to select a good one, but at this point I can not recommend. read more
