This is the best daiquiri place in Lafayette. A million flavors, cheap prices, and they taste amazing.

Responding to Chelsa K.'s 1* review. As I am someone who was in the restaurant when it happened…read more I just think it's funny how you aren't mentioning y'all came in as 6 people and then wanted accommodations for 30 people during one of the busiest times of the night. Or that they argued with the amazing manager for nearly an hour total after being told they couldn't accommodate that size party. They're also leaving out the part where people from their group marched in and seated themselves, stood over occupied tables waiting for guests to leave, insisting the hosts clean the tables, and made the entire restaurant uncomfortable. This had nothing to do with race and everything to do with behavior. Any group acting like that would've gotten the exact same response. In short, do better. Y'all came in and ruined everyone's dinner because y'all don't know how to plan ahead. Stop blaming people for your mistakes and take accountability.

This may have been part of the reason its wasn't all that busy on a Tuesday lunch. Similar to some other restaurants in Louisiana I've visited, they have a side with a bar, to-go area and high tops, and a more family oriented side of the restaurant with a bunch of low top tables. Fried pork rinds are served with every table. They have daily plate lunches and the one day I came it was chicken fried steak. However, it's not usually a good idea to order CFS outside of Texas in my experience. Therefore, I ended up ordering the catfish and shrimp platter, served grilled instead and added a $5 strawberry margarita. The entree comes with a side salad but they only have seelct dressings and none which I would typically order, so i just settled on honey mustard. Margarita- for only $5 it's not bad and comes with either sugar or salt rim Catfish and shrimp platter - seasoned with a blackened seasoning but it wasn't spicy. The catfish filet was small and tasted like it was previously frozen. The shrimp were also small and didn't taste much better. Not sure I'd return if ever in Lafayette, as I was really looking for a more festive environment and more grilled options.

Now, let's talk about the food! The fried green tomatoes are an absolute MUST every time we visit. They are seriously one of our favorite appetizers, and I don't think we could go there without ordering them! And the steak frites? Another winner in our book! It's one of those dishes we look forward to ordering because it's just that good. What I love most is having a restaurant where we already know there are dishes we enjoy and can look forward to every time. There's something about finding your go-to spot and knowing exactly what you're craving before you even walk through the door! If you've never been to Social Southern Table & Bar, I definitely recommend giving it a try. And do yourself a favor--order the fried green tomatoes! You can thank me later! We'll definitely be back because those steak frites and fried green tomatoes keep calling our names!

Our server, Kate, was outstanding. She was friendly, attentive, and gave us excellent…read morerecommendations. She suggested the pork chop, and it ended up being the star of the meal. The pork chop was cooked perfectly. It was juicy, incredibly tender, and honestly tender enough to cut with a fork. It had a great char from the grill that added so much flavor, and the pickled peppers on top cut through the richness of the pork perfectly. The dirty rice underneath reminded me of my mom's rice dressing and soaked up all the juices from the chop. It was one of the best pork chop dishes I've had. My wife ordered the smoke fried chicken, and it was also excellent. The crust was crispy while the chicken stayed juicy and flavorful. The sweet potato biscuits were light and delicious, and the pepper honey tied everything together nicely. For my taste, it leaned just a little on the sweet side, but it was still a very enjoyable dish. My daughter ordered the Social Cheeseburger with just meat and cheese. She loved it, and I was impressed too. Even with such a simple order, the burger was juicy, well seasoned, and served on a fantastic bun. She and my wife both could not stop talking about the hand cut fries. They were crispy, perfectly seasoned, and some of the best fries we've had in a while. From the food to the service, everything exceeded our expectations. We left very impressed and will definitely make a point to stop here whenever we are in the Lafayette area.

We went to Ruffino's on the River for my wife's birthday. We've eaten here quite a few times over…read morethe years and were really looking forward to coming back. The only disappointment was finding out our favorite appetizer, the pork cheeks, is no longer on the menu. We decided to try the crabmeat cheesecake instead, and it was pretty good. For our entrées, my wife ordered the Fish Katie, which was as good as always, and I had the lamb chop special. The lamb chops were cooked well and had great flavor. To top off the evening, the staff brought out cotton candy and a slice of olive oil cake for my wife's birthday, which was a nice touch and made the celebration feel special. Overall, we had a very enjoyable dinner with good food and attentive service. We definitely plan on coming back and hope the pork cheeks make a return to the menu someday!

This is our second time going to Ruffino's. The first time we went, the food was excellent, but…read moreservice was lackluster. The waiter completely forgot to put in our salad order, but made up for it by bringing us a salad at the end of our meal and comping it. An honest mistake and the dishes we ordered were delicious so they made up for it. They also gave us cotton candy, which I love. The crawfish cheesecake was really good and the veal parm was very tasty. Tonight was an even worse experience. We had reservations for my daughter's Sweet 16 birthday, which you know is an important occasion. My son is allergic to dairy so he was limited in what he could order, which is understandable. He ordered the Wagyu burger, and the waiter unfortunately told us that they were out of Wagyu, so we had to piece together something else for him to eat. After ordering one of their specials - the fried brisket, with a side containing dairy, we swapped it out for truffle fries with no cheese. Minutes later, the waiter came to our table, telling us they were out of truffle fries. Moving along, he suggested the fried brussels sprouts. Once again, several minutes later, he returned saying they were out of brussels sprouts, so we just ordered whatever we could at that point. I ordered veal marsala, which was ok but not great. My daughter ordered spaghetti and meatballs, and the dish was just overall very bland. There were random lasagna noodles in her spaghetti, which made it seem like they just scraped the bottom of the pot for noodles. Everything looked like it was left over from the day. My husband ordered the same thing we had at our first dinner - veal parm, and the portion was significantly reduced from the first time he had it. It was also lackluster in appearance and the cheese looked like it had basically been microwaved. Probably not but it had no baked golden color whatsoever. Perhaps the most disappointing occurrence was that we called ahead to see if we should bring our own candle for my daughter's birthday dessert. We were told we could, but that they had sparklers. I thought sparklers would be an amazing alternative to a candle, so we left our candle at home. There were two other tables seated in our section, celebrating birthdays. One table's birthday dish came out with a sparkler, but when they brought out my daughter's dessert, no sparkler. Really?! The other table next to us had their dessert presented after us and they GAVE THEM A SPARKLER. Excuse me?? The idea of giving two tables full of grown-ups sparklers, but not a 16-year-old a sparkler, made us feel like we were an afterthought. Good thing my daughter and I were in the bathroom, washing our hands, when the second table received their sparkler, because I would've been very upset for her watching other people receive delightful birthday desserts, but not her. I think most of the issues with communicating that dishes were out of stock fell on the kitchen staff and not our waiter. Our waiter Dominic was very nice and apologetic, otherwise, I would probably give an even lower rating. You could tell he was very uncomfortable to deliver us the bad news over and over again. He did comp our desserts, so that was appreciated. We tipped him handsomely and went on our way. We are likely to not return, since they seem to have a serious breakdown of communication as well as consistency. When you pay $300 for a meal, especially for an important occasion, you expect the establishment to be on their game. Nobody wants to be at a fine dining venue and meet that much disappointment. Unfortunately, it was a not so Sweet 16.

It…read moreleans heavy vegan/vegetarian but they still do bacon, real meats, and real eggs, so you can go whatever direction you want. I like having the option. The breakfast burrito is the star and it's not close. They put broccoli and squash in it. Sounds insane, shouldn't work, but it's one of the best breakfast burritos I've had in my entire life. Get the extra crispy bacon in it. Everything was texturally perfect and they've got this fermented hot sauce that goes with it. Not spicy, just adds a whole extra layer of flavor. A 10 out of 10. The coffee was the letdown. We did a few rounds (cortado, latte, cappuccino) and they came out inconsistent, milk to coffee ratio all over the place. Felt like whoever was making them didn't really know the difference between the drinks. If I'm dinging them on anything, it's that. My wife got one of those big healthy veggie bowls and it was pretty mediocre. Just lacked flavor. If super healthy is what you're after you'll be happy, but hers was a 3 and my burrito was a 10, so I ended up handing her half of mine. That's the deal here, it depends what you order. The veggie and vegan stuff is never going to hit like the real thing, but there's a ton of good options if you care about that. We also grabbed a bunch of their canned goods on the way out. Pesto, that hot sauce, radish kimchi, sweet potato kimchi. They make it all in house and you can tell there's a real passion for creating and doing new things. Super happy we found this one. Highly recommend, especially that burrito.

Yes, it was crowded, but that's a healthy sign! In fact, we were lucky enough to find a parking space in the lot. From antipasto to dessert everything was top notch. So, we went to Italy and came back changed people. In fact, I started making my own pasta being inspired by what I experienced. There is a tremendous difference between fresh and shelf. We finally made it back to Sarrica's last Saturday, and I don't know how one could be more impressed, but they did it again! We got there early and immediately got a table. A half hour later the place was getting packed. We went straight to the Primo skipping the antipasto this time. Our food arrived quickly, and at first the portion looked smaller than before. But I was deceived! The dish was full! And delicious! And gone! I'm usually not known for cleaning my plate, but had we been in a darker corner I probably would be licking what's left! No, seriously, it's that good! This place would be popular in Sicily or Rome or Tuscany! You can tell someone in the kitchen is proud of what they're serving to be so consistent. There's no question we'll be returning - if we find a parking space!
