This incident happened quite a while ago - about 1 year, I believe - but I still feel it is relevant to write this review so people know what kind of people own this store. I brought my Akita (who is very quiet and well mannered) in to the self groom station and began to bathe him. Anyone who has a large double coated dog knows that bathing them is an ordeal in and of itself; it normally takes me 3 hours to brush, bathe, and fully dry him. Obviously, it requires a lot of water and shampoo. The entire time that I am bathing him, two employees were walking in and out of that area frequently and even asked me if I was doing okay a few times (to which I replied yes). We were the only ones in the self groom station, and it was not a busy afternoon for them. After 2 hours, I am almost done rinsing him off when the owner of the store storms into the area and begins to yell - and I mean LITERALLY SHOUT AT THE TOP OF HER LUNGS - at me in front of her employees and with other customers in the store. Apparently, while I was concentrating on washing my dog (which, again, required pretty much all my concentration), I got some water on the floor. Well, I'm wearing tennis shoes with thick outsoles and insoles, so it did not really get my feet wet. I did not really notice for that reason, but as I look down, there is like maybe an inch of water on the floor. I'm a little surprised, but still shocked and confused as to why this ridiculous woman is verbally assaulting me. She relayed (very aggressively to me) that the floor was beginning to flood due to the fur and shampoo clogging their drain. I'm even more confused now. I'm a mindful person who frequently takes out my dog's clumps of fur from the drain when I'm bathing him. I had several large clumps in the trashcan beside me to prove it. Is their property really so unequipped and poorly set up that it can not handle the amount of shampoo required to wash a large dog and the amount of fur a double coated dog can produce? What kind of facility is this? I apologize and try to help dry the water from the floor with towels *despite the fact that she is still yelling at me.* She shouts that what I was doing was "useless" and yells at her poor employees to fix it quickly and unclog the drain. I felt bad for her poor employees since it was clear that she verbally abuses them regularly as they seemed a little scared of her. As her employees are working to quickly resolve the issue, she is not helping them at all and continues to shout at me loudly. "What the @#$% is your problem?! How could you not notice?!" She then points over to the corner of the GROOMING STATION where I notice bags of dog food laying on the FLOOR and shouting, "Do you have any idea how much money this is going to cost me to replace all this?! YOU ruined all this!" I am appalled at her. First, what kind of idiot puts dog food in the same area as one where people wash their dogs? Second, what kind of idiot puts dog food on the bare floor instead of pallets? Third, why is her facility so cheaply set up that it can't handle the fur and shampoo from a SINGLE dog (remember, we were alone) without flooding? Fourth, she blames me for all her bad business decisions. Fifth - and this is the cherry on top - she screams at me to "get the @#$% out!" I had already paid for my dog's grooming, and I was still rinsing him off. If this woman had any real experience with dogs, she would have known that double coated dogs need to be *fully* dried immediately after grooming or they can develop hot spots due to the trapped moisture in their thick coats. Yet she was kicking me out for mistakes that she made AFTER I had already paid for the service... I was baffled and enraged at this woman. Keep in mind, during this entire ordeal, I was very polite with her and her staff (much more polite than she was). I did not yell like she did, I did not curse at anyone like she did, and I even apologized a few times. This was the worst experience I have ever had with any business associated with dogs. I do not recommend anyone shops here ever again. read more
