Wanted to give him a chance since Metric Motors while amazing is more corporate and I like local family owned businesses. I was there with my daughter today. Gipping two new ladies ( myself and my daughter ) for an oil change?? lmao Never paid that much for an oil change in my life. I ll never go back there again. Maybe their business would do well if they didn't over charge people. Hes must ve thought I was stupid. Shouldve went there with a man. Maybe he would still try to get away with it. IDK I liked them both which is why I gave two stars. In the end though just be honest even if you re trying to survive like the rest of us. read more

Totally dishonest. Went for a NYS inspection. My inspection sticker had expired 20 days ago. He removed the expired sticker, inspected my car and failed it due to worn out front tires and also said I needed all new rotors for all four wheels. When I questioned the rotors, his comment was that they were rotted and I should look at the back side. The worn front tires were a legitimate failure, but when I asked him why he hadn't given me a ten day sticker, his response was that they don't do that anymore, a complete lie. So I asked him what if I get pulled over because now I have no inspection sticker, even the expired one, or a ten day extension sticker, his response was "you will get a ticket, no big deal". So basically he left me with a car I couldn't drive legally at all. I went to a tire shop and had the front tires replaced and asked them if in fact that if you failed inspection, were you issued a ten day sticker in order to have the necessary repairs done and they said absolutely. I then had my car reinspected at another facility and there was no issues with my brakes or rotors, so with my new front tires my car passed inspection. Meanwhile, I had gone to an auto parts store and purchased four new rotors at a cost of over $458.72 which I had intended to install myself, but obviously not necessary. Buyer beware with this place! Totally unprofessional, a liar and a ripoff artist. read more

Read the other reviews but wanted to give him a chance since it's a local business. They reviews are accurate. Price doubled after phony fees added. Not very honest, took advantage of my vulnerable situation. Going here was a mistake! read more

I took my car to Bogarts to have a simple tire and battery job done I was given a quote of $1000.00 to cover everything so I agreed to let them do the work. Within 2 days Bogarts auto called me and told me they did brakes and change the brake lines without telling me they were going to do that which took the bill up to $1777.00 then they went into my checking account without telling me who does that just up and go into anyone bank account without permission. After all that, his site has posted the methods of payment they accepts which is personal checks so I had to take a check to pay for my car when I got there he told me that is not his website and he doesn't take checks. Then called the police to tell them I'm trespassing even though he has my car in his shop the police came and told me I have right to be there because my car is there so they did nothing to me. since I had to cancel my card because of bogarts going into my account without permission he refuse to take my payment I could do so he's holding my car and would not give it back until he gets cash. This business is crooked. If you value you bank account and your car find someone else to take it to. Learn from my lesson. If I could give 0 I would. read more

Bogart's Auto - What his website states as payment - Auto Repair Near Me - Poughquag, New York

See all

I was very happy with the friendly customer service and how quickly they fixed my car. Bogart's Auto has completed two inspections and fixed my rotted out tail pipe. I'm pleased that they told me what was starting to go on my car without persuading me to fix everything which would have been more than I could afford. I would highly recommend this place! The prices are reasonable, they explain everything well to an I knowledgeable car owner and are not pushy! read more

Used Bogarts a handful of times and would not recommend. I started to realize shortly after I had work done there, something else went wrong too shortly after. Also does not stand behind his work. Had a costly repair done recently and failed within 2 weeks, went back and he said I would have to pay hourly rate to figure out what went wrong! I understand things go wrong but not when just payed well over $1K and fails within 2 weeks..... should've at least diagnosed and would have gladly paid for repair. Since, I've realized that other repairs there had led to more related repairs shortly after. Use at your own risk! but he does seem to be a nice guy up front.... or at least I thought. read more

NEVER EVER EVER GO TO BOGARTS. They continuously charged me hundreds and hundreds of dollars to fix my car, it was an older car so I knew it had issues but couldn't afford to buy a new one. Eventually he told me the car was beyond repair and essentially stole the car telling me he would junk it and he was doing me a favor. Upon getting a new car and him starting to say the same stuff he did about my other car I realized I was being scammed and my other car probably was never beyond repair. I got a second opinion on my new car and the other garage charged me $200 when bogarts was going to charge me over $700 for the same exact thing!! Do not trust them with anything!! read more

Extremely unprofessional!! Seems to me, after reading about all the legal scam issues associated with this place, they would be a bit more professional now in how they deal with their customers. Having gone in to have my sons car inspected, it failed for bald tires. Understandable and not a problem. Upon returning the following day with new tires, my son was told there was an additional $11 re-inspection fee on top of the already paid fee of $21. A joke since all that had to be done was look at the tires and slap a sticker on but hey, that's apparently how it's done so again, not a problem. The problem occurred when I called him asking about why I wasn't told about the re-inspection fee while I was there, (my son returned home having no cash on him) and rather than simply and politely explaining the procedure to me, got extremely rude and talked over me when my suggestion that maybe he let people know about this additional fee prior to returning wasn't taken very well. To top things off, my son was standing in front of him at the time and because of our little argument, threw my son out telling him that I said he was going elsewhere which is not true. Really? You couldn't have just slapped the sticker on and charged him the $11 and sent him on his way? Childish, unprofessional and not worthy of my business. I'll be using a more reputable repair shop in the future. Awful experience. read more
