Okay, this spot has a lot of great potential and I would LOVE LOVE LOVE for it to stick around, so I'm going to be detailed in our joint opinions and suggestions. Coffee and bakery area have a wonderful vibe going on. We were very warmly greeted by the young man at the bakery counter who could tell we were new. My PSL was excellent. Mildly spiced, perfectly sweet, with a fantastic creamy foam. Their bakery selections looked delicious. We stopped in for lunch, and there were a few people in the coffee area. My husband got the burger combo and I got the gyro combo. I'm not sure why they have American food on the menu, because if the burger he had was standard for them, then they need a lot of work or to just get rid of the American basics. It was tiny and greasy. The menu referred to the burger as "big and juicy". Um...no. It might have been 2 ounces of greasy beef. The fries were hot, and cooked and seasoned well, but again, just basic frozen crinkle cut. Meh. However, my lamb gyro was delicious. The meat was preformed gyro style, hot, generously sized with a reasonable amount of fresh sauce and some veggies and feta. I'd love to see more onion, tomatoes, lettuce and some kalamatas on it, but as it was, it was very good. The wrap was soft, hot, pillowy, and fresh. I suspect their Mediterranean dishes are outstanding, and their American staples just exist to fill a void that they imagine they have (they don't). They don't need the American stuff...focus on the real food. Some additional small notes that may help them stick around: Have real brewed tea (not the Nestea stuff I had at lunch) and real glasses (we ate lunch...maybe they have non-disposable adult size cups at dinner?). Heck, maybe even some wonderful fresh brewed tea with mint over ice would be fantastic and keep with the Mediterranean food menu. Make sure to bring drinks and silverware to the table quickly, rather than after the meal is served. Also, there was some kind of music or radio blaring but it wasn't coming from the speaker system, and it was not pleasant. It wasn't loud...it was almost like it was coming from the kitchen. Also, pick one decorative style, preferably the one that is in the coffee/bakery area. That area is rich, warm, Mediterranean, woodsy and welcoming. Keep it going over to the deli/restaurant section, which currently has an amusement park feel to it. So, if they can get their act down pat and smooth out some rough edges, they will quickly become a favorite stop! read more

Great service! The waiter was really really nice. She told us about how the restaurant was a started and how it is run by their family. She also gave us free snacks that they make insisting that we try it as a gift. The food was also very good we had their falafel wrap and hummus with pita nd would recommend it for sure it was juicy falafel and soft pita. As always, we had a fantastic experience here. The food is excellent, great prices, outstanding service, and fast. It's a very clean establishment and modern. Everything is new and inviting. I would highly recommend this place to anyone that enjoys good food (I think that includes everyone). Second experience with Boeshreen ever better than the first. Young lady that took my order of the lunch special asked if I wanted soup or salad to go along with my chicken, peppers and onions over rice, so I opted for the lentil soup. It was amazing! I would drink a gallon in one sitting. Rich flavors with citrus undertones. I don't know what I did to deserve it, but I was given a side salad with tomatoes, cucumbers and feta cheese as well. Holy moly, this was good!!! For about $25 we had an awesome dinner. I had a lamb gyro that was super packed with meat, totally stuffed my face with it. We shared a spinach and cheese borek that was so flaky and nice. He had falafel sandwich with fries that was flavorful and delightful. We then we had a bit of baklava that was just sweet enough and would be amazing with coffee. Then split tiramisu that was delicious but could have done without the chocolate on top. Great Mediterranean food. The Hummus was the best I've eaten, including my trip to Israel. The Greek salad was delicious. The Tzatziki sauce is authentic and flavorful. I love this restaurant! They offer a plethora of authentic Libyan dishes cafeteria style. Anything from simple chilled tabouli or hummus to vegetarian or meaty stews. I had the shakshuka. It's a vegetarian dish made with sautéed vegetables and poached eggs. The flavor is wonderful! The chef Steve even brought it out to my table and served it fresh from the skillet to my plate. I also had the roasted eggplant stuffed with beef. It was awesome! I recommend this place to all of the foodies out there! read more

This is my first bad review. I thought this place would be really good after all the reviews. My first experience at this place. I have been missing halal Persian Turkish Mediterranean since moving from NYC. stopped by on a Wednesday for dinner at 7 o'clock. I waited about five minutes before anyone came to the counter(both counters were empty). And then was told that most of the dinner specials that I saw on the menu would not be available until Thursday. The items that they did have were at best subpar. The spinach and cheeses borek was soggy and the falafel biting into it with no sauce had a soapy aftertaste. It was a let down and really was excited. Oh well Will not be going back again. read more

We were finally able to try the Libyan food this evening (it's only available on Thursday - Saturday). Everything was delicious, but I WISH the restaurant would allow for a "combo plate" that would allow diners to try various items from the Libyan menu. When faced with so many tantalizing and fascinating menu items, it would have been nice to be able to try various things (for example one piece of wrapped eggplant, one stuffed pepper, some Kabsa, the sauces, etc - perhaps with a cup of soup). What better way to get people here more familiar with Libyan cuisine? I'd also like to suggest offering Libyan drinks - or as another reviewer suggested, tea with mint. How about Libyan music? There ARE people here in Columbia who will come to Boeshreen for the food and the cultural experience - not the Sno-cones and the Cheesesteaks. You're the ONLY place in town offering North African food. It's unique, different, and I think you could be very successful - the ony game in town, in fact. Please offer combo options... A fairly new addition to the "international corridor" of Decker Blvd.. I have enjoyed their fresh tasting salads, gyro, tomato and cucumber salad and especially the hummus and baba ghanoush. To be honest, they have the best falafels I have ever had. . almost green in color because they are full of tasty herbs! I have seen people eat the hamburger and French fries (which look to be from frozen) here and I have NO IDEA why you would eat this stuff at a Mediterranean place with good food, but whatever! Being in the middle of Decker, I would NOT go to this place in the evening without several big strong men beside me. . .however I have gone several times during lunch and have only been approached once by a vagrant. What a wonderful place. We were greeted with a welcome upon entry. The first thing my eyes laid on were the beautifully presented bakery goods, so lovely. Phillip was a very helpful and professional host. I brought to his attention that the hours of business was not correct on yelp l, he went right away to inform the boss. I appreciate that he cared enough for the business because we almost didn't go because we thought it was closed. The food was delicious and what I was hoping for. Ordered from 256toGo and was extremely disappointed. We ordered 3 orders of grape leaves and only received one and they were terrible. The grape leaves and the rice were burnt and warm, we couldn't even eat them. The kabsa, which is usually fantastic, had absolutely no chicken or vegetables in it. It was just rice and nothing else. The gyro was okay, but it was soggy. The lamb shank was good, but didn't come with anything. Overall it was very disappointing and mediocre at best. We won't be ordering from 256toGo again and we won't be visiting Boeshreen due to their lack of quality. Seriously, worst grape leaves ever! read more

Stopped in for lunch and left quite satisfied. Both my husband and I got the lamb gyro. The meat was probably the best either of us have ever had and we've eaten a lot of gyros. It was very tender and juicy and was piled high in a perfectly soft but not soggy pita. His combo came with a huge Greek "side" salad and I got an order of delicious falafel. They do lunch every day and dinner after 3 on Thursday- Saturday. We will definitely be coming back soon to sample their dinner selections. read more

I have passed by this place numerous times but finally decided to check it out after receiving a coupon from an Attractions book. Don't let the outside of the restaurant fool you with it's cluttered signs about snow cones. The inside of the restaurant has been nicely designed. I went during lunch and order a lamb gyro with a Greek salad. The cashier was friendly and knowledgeable about the items. Everything was so fresh and delicious. The salad was crisp and the gyro was flavorful. They also give you nice portions. Finally I'm picky about my unsweetened tea and am normally hesitant to get it from many restaurants but their unsweetened tea definitely gets a passing score. Everyone I know has raved about this place. Finally got by there on a Monday evening a few weeks back. I was so disappointed. I ordered the chicken kabobs without rice and extra salad. The vegetables that came with the meat were brown. I could not eat them. Not sure if they were frozen, old, or what, but bell peppers and onions should be different colors and not brown and mushy. The chicken was greasy. I guess you might not notice that if it was served over rice, but my friend had the rice and he was not happy with his plate, either. Tips were requested on Square at the time we placed our order and I assumed some level of table service would follow (after ordering at the counter), but after the man brought our plates, he never returned. My friend had to get up and go to the counter to refill his drink. If that's the way it runs all the time, no tip should be requested or left. It's possible that this poor showing was due to the time of day; maybe lunch is better. Whatever time of day, you should get fresh food. The peppers and onions were about the worst thing I've ever been served in a restaurant. Ever. Also overpriced for what we got...almost $20 for small serving of kabobs.
