I wish I could give more than five stars. I love this place. The food is phenomenal and the staff is great. They let you try samples from the hot bar on the nights that they serve authentic Libyan food and they are very patient with those who are new to the cuisine. They will answer any questions you have and are great at describing the dishes to their patrons. From the hot bar, only available Thursday through Saturday from 3 to close, the béchamel is wonderful. My personal favorite is kabsa (rice mixed with spices and shredded chicken) topped with a chicken quarter. The vegetable stew (a mix of chick peas, onions, and tomatoes) is also great and can be served with the kabsa at no additional charge. Their "standard" fare of phillys and sandwiches are also great, and the lamb philly is unique enough to differentiate them from the droves of other philly joints in town. Back again for a wonderful lunch. Philly cheese steak , falafel and hummus fed two of us for lunch. The young man that served us was very polite, and checked up on us from time to time, refilling our drinks. He also offered us some wonderful complimentary almond cookies. I have enjoyed so much food from this restaurant. The stuffed grape leaves and hummus with pita are very good and so classic. The gyros are A M A Z I N G, and employees are so accommodating with extra sauces and things. I would say, though, that the environment leaves something to be desired. The last time we ate here (the one of two times we have eaten instead of ordered to go), the space was not clean. We moved from one table to the next because there were lots of flies, and when we moved to the other space, there was food stuck between two of the joined tables. Once we cleaned the table and our food came, an employee stepped outside to smoke and left the door propped, filling the space with the smell of cigarettes. I'm not a smoker, and it's no longer the 90s, so the smell of cigarettes in a dining setting made me uncomfortable. It may not matter to others. I hope this is remedied for future customers who do care. All of this being said, I will still continue to buy and eat wonderful food from here, just taking out! read more

So this place seems a little odd, but the food was just fine! We ordered gyros, lamb and chicken. Mine came with 5 wings that were crispy and very tasty (you get to pick your wing flavor from 25 options). My chicken gyro was huge and filling. My colleagues and I ate here for lunch. The food was good overall. I had the chicken over rice lunch special with soup and salad for $7.99. Between the three dishes, there was plenty of food. My only advice to management is to be a bit more generous with the meat portion; there was only about a quarter of a chicken on the bed of rice. I still had half my rice left after eating the chicken with rice. We arrived the around 11:30am. The place was empty and we were served fairly quickly. A few others had come by the time we left. The establishment is new, but I think they will get a lot busier over time as word of mouth gets out. The inside is quite nice and not what we expected judging by the appearance on the outside. Absolutely disgusting venue with food that looks like it's been sitting in warmers all day. Wife picked it out based on the reviews and stars. We pulled in and I thought she got it wrong as it looked like it was an abandoned location. Grass over grown and outside appearances looked less that appealing. So I go in to confirm, it was a bit warm, it smelled middle eastern and the only server said they did have 2 high chairs. We go in, the high chairs are filthy, we clean them and then notices one was broken to the point of falling apart. Then the temps inside started to become more noticeable as in no A/C running, I'd guess pushing 80 degrees. It's June, in SC, so it's like 95 degrees and high humidity. Then the wife saw the food window and was turned off to include the multitude of flies in our face. That was the last straw and we walked out. Outside looks like a disaster. Inside not much better. I love this place! It has a great location for me since I live in the North East and am not a fan of driving to eat at certain places. We ordered the falafel sandwich and onion rings. The falafel were great, crispy and flavorful. The sandwich was actually perfectly portioned. We dissected it since we were splitting it and I can't think of a better way to eat it to be honest. The onion rings were light and crispy, none of the heavy beer battered onion rings. They were a bit oily but a few napkins work that out. We also ordered grape leaves to go and they were great! We ate them on the way to Charleston ; they were flavorful, also perfectly stuffed/rolled and are my favorite. We also ordered a dessert to go which I didn't try but my friends raved about it. Since changing hands, Boeshreen has been compressed, still somewhat existing as a sub-menu of Sami's Deli but with many of their fantastic offerings gone. The first few weeks after they re-opened it was shakey; I didn't like eating on disposable plates. Ceramic has returned. The lunch special is still there. Gyros are still there. There are new things on the menu, but they are typical deli items that I don't really care about ordering from what used to be the most fantastic Mediterranean restaurant in town. The slightly rundown location had me skeptical at first, but don't be fooled! This place serves the most kick-ass food with the most incredible flavor! The Falafel Plate was delicious. The Pastry had a crispy, sugar-dusted outside, and a softer inside tanged just slightly with citrus. The Kunafa was definitely the more adventurous option: crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, it's made completely out of small, thin noodles woven together around a crunchy walnutty inside. Very, very sweet. All in all, the flavors that this place offers are so diverse yet all so dang GOOD. The prices are completely affordable too! This place is awesome. We split the lamb shank platter. The lamb was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The rice and chickpeas were also perfectly executed. Even the salad was nice. We decided to get the lemon mascarpone cake after and it was divine. Well baked cake and the consistency of the icing was rich without being too much. We even got baklava to go. Might be the best food I've had in the midlands. Doesn't look like much from the outside (nor inside), but clean inside and friendly service. Amazing place. I believe it is family owned? The owners and workers here are so kind. The food is amazing, and very good value. I used to come ever nearly every week after school with friends. Coming from the DC area where there is a lot of international cuisine, this is the most authentic tasting meal I have had in awhile. I find myself coming back here again and again.
