Small classes and friendly instructors! Natalie did a Cardio Sculpt class and it was such an intense workout - very rewarding. Was helpful to see some demos (could have used some more personalized form feedback) Only thing was I wish there was more ventilation or air since it got pretty hot. Love it! Such a great workout... short(45minutes) but intense. Most instructors are very nice espresso Eric on Friday class! Pay attention and help adjusting our poses. Parking on the other side could be challenging but you can pay for parking next door....which is more convenient but expensive ($15/2hours at the machine but $18 if you pay through mobile app). read more

Really like the place, it's my 3rd Pilates studio and is the perfect one for me. It's not too expensive. I've been to some cardio sculpt and flow classes. Julie is amazing, she's in on fridays for flow sessions, and she actually cares for you to do everything right. She came to me several times to show me how to do the exercise properly, and when I wasn't getting it, she asked if she can touch me (I'm totally okay with it) and actually corrected my posture, so that I started to feel the right muscles. But not all the instructors are like that, in other classes I usually just do what they're saying and they don't bother you (maybe to not distract or smth), but I saw others ask for help and they happily do so. The place is also super inclusive, you see other people with normal body sizes, along with pretty fit people, which helps to feel more comfortable. The front desk is also super nice and are willing to help you with any questions read more

Great workout. I like the lights and layout of the studio. Sometimes hard to follow along with the music being a bit louder than the instructor. read more

Love the classes Ive gone to here! Studio is overall pretty clean, and most of the instructors teach challenging yet fun sessions! I would note that the locks or doors on a majority of the lockers appear to be broken at this location, so I keep my stuff nearby my reformer machine. read more

Ok workout. Too much reliance on the machine instead of actually working out your body, plus it's hard on wrists and shoulders. No towels or water fountain, but they have a water bottle refill station. There are better workouts available out there. read more

I was hesitant to try this spot out because I had heard it compared to Core40 and I hate Core40. I'm happy to say that overall I enjoyed my workouts here and would recommend it with a few words of warning. First off, let's not confuse Bodyrok with Pilates. This is 100% not Pilates although some of the movements and the machine are clearly inspired by Pilates. Pilates is focused on functional progressive movements that refine deep muscle activation. Bodyrok does not focus on that refinement and is more focused on reps rather than form. That doesn't mean it's not a good workout in its own way. It's challenging, fast paced, and will likely strengthen you over time. However, it will likely also injure you if you don't come in with a good level of strength and an understanding of when to push your body/when to pull back. This is amplified by the fact that the instructors aren't as hands on as they should be, don't really demonstrate the movements or make sure people are doing them right. In one class, the instructor kept saying "amazing form, everyone looks great" when that 100% was not true. Finally, these classes are expensive! $30 per class is not sustainable for most people. For the level of instruction, I don't think this price is justified. They also don't provide towels and you have to wipe everything down yourself. The studio is clean, located in a good area, and the staff are friendly. Definitely check them out and form your own opinion. read more

I can't give less than a star otherwise I would. This place took my money by charging me additional months that I had never agreed to. When I noticed and try to talk to someone about it they said there was a 30 day cancelation policy which I was within the time frame and they still denied my request. I finally talked to someone who agreed to Cancel and guess what? The payment was still charged. They charged me $159.00 for 6 months. It was horrible. Unfortunately I dont have money like that amd this was a burden. In addition the service is terrible they repeat everything over and over. They girls working there are super rude with certain customers and extremely nice to others. Please save yourself a headache and save your money dont go through what I went through. read more

I've been taking classes at this BodyRok location for a couple months now via ClassPass. So far, I'm enjoying it! Out of all the megaformer/Lagree studios in the city, I find BodyRok to be the most challenging/rewarding, especially their advanced classes. That being said, when I took my first class, the instructor was really attentive, welcoming, and nice. She always made sure to demonstrate the moves close to where I was and checked up with how I was feeling afterwards. I 100% recommend for beginners if you're thinking about it. Even in my following classes, I thought the pace was straightforward and easy to follow. The megaformers and studio overall are a bit on the older side, and during some of my sessions a few machines were missing springs or were cracked. In the grand scheme of things, it is still a really nice studio and everything that you need for a great workout is there. read more

I love a pilates inspired workout and find BodyRok to deliver a quality class in nice studios. I can't give 5 stars as the floors are rarely clean and the Cow Hollow studio allows dogs into the studio during class. I love dogs but have an allergy to some and, frankly, didn't expect to be working out inside near one. They do not provide clean towels to borrow during class. You can purchase grip socks at the studio and an instructor will give you an introduction to the machine if it's your first time. They also have a water station if you bring your own bottle. read more

I am so in love with BodyRok!!! I was looking for something a little more low impact after a couple knee surgeries. So glad I found this! Sandy, the owner, was there on my first day to make me feel comfortable and all the instructors immediately knew my name which made me feel at home. We ended up booking a private class for a company outing. We picked Summer to be our instructor and she was wonderful!! All around 5/5 stars! I love that it is 45 minutes, it is challenging but it feels like the perfect amount of time! I would recommend to any level also. You can always modify. Can't wait for the Los Gatos location to open!! woohoo!! read more

Absolute scam - I got the unlimited first month pack as a new goer, which costs $150. I thought this was a great deal but I just checked my billing statement to another $320 charge from BodyRok. I had missed a couple classes and, while I understand there is a $20 fee for missed classes, as a new member I would think the studio would reach out to me if my fees are doubling my membership cost but I guess taking my money was the real goal. I was having a hard time understanding their app and you have to cancel classes 12hours in advance but you have to book them weeks out to even get a spot - shocker that I missed classes because I didn't even remember booking them/would have trouble canceling them! The worst part is that I noticed the $320 I was charged overstates the classes I missed because classes that I was waitlisted for but never enrolled in were counted as "missed." I've visited many Pilates studios and have never had such poor quality of service. Again, I recognize I missed classes (although not all were actually missed) but reaching out to a new member who doesn't understand the systems (their app is really not user friendly) or process would be my recommendation to this business. Also, the reformers in this studio are pretty torn up and, if you don't get to class early enough, you get stuck next to the window (and there's a bus stop right outside so people do watch). There was one instructor I did enjoy but the rest would eat during class, not demonstrate moves, just read their workouts off the paper - overall, they were not engaging nor instructive. Core40 is a reformer studio on Lombard that I'd recommend over this studio any day! read more

Great classes, but lack of ANY customer support and major flaws with their app - and SMS reply service - are really starting to piss me off. They used to have a great SF rep who helped sort out issues with your account, but she's gone and instead they have a marketing rep replying to service emails for the main account. The floor is filthy and I want to like them but their lack of response is really bad. I'm no longer impressed. read more

Love love love bodyrok! They make the Pilates experience very unintimidating. They are so nice and helpful with new clients and even very accommodating to people who have been going for a while. With your pass you can try various locations through out the city. Marina/cow hollow and Polk are my favorite. They are both such great vibes. Every instructor for every class is different. Some of my faves are Kiara, Charolette and Molly. Expect a dang good workout no matter what day of the week you attend class!! But you can always take things at your own pace. And there is never any judgement. read more

I used to love this workout spot but will no longer go after my wallet was stolen out of my bag DURING one of their classes. Their staff admitted three people into the studio who were not signed up for class who subsequently stole from two customers while we were working out on the reformer machines. Today's nighttime adventure in the Marina was so that I could try Bodyrok pilates studio. I have not been using ClassPass in SF to do pilates very much because I don't really enjoy pilates, but I felt like it today. I had done Core40 before like 4 months ago and today I did a pilates workout at Bodyrok. I thought it was okay and that I could do this again. I like this stylish, sleek pilates gym on Lombard. It was started by a man named Jake and the trainer today was Alycia. She was helpful and I felt fine about this workout. But this is too light for me...and the women are wimpy women. You know when you go to these gyms...and the ladies at the gyms are stylish and yuppy, but wimpy and not the same type of athlete...so I could do Bodyrok again in the future if I want to attempt pilates. It's a nice studio...Thanks to ClassPass I have so many options to try and I am thrilled by my ClassPass membership I guess. That is all for today. 5 reviews in the Marina. I absolutely love Pilates and the instructors at BodyRok. I'm also speaking for many members who want to remain anonymous. We feel the rules at BodyRok are unreasonable. when I first joined I was charged a no show fee for not signing in. However, no-one ever told me that I was suppose to sign in. New members are never told anything on how the rules work so you just need to figure it out on your own and that has been a huge complaint by many members. We feel since we're buying a membership we should be able to cancel a class if necessary with no additional charge. I've never heard of buying a membership that charges you for not showing up. read more

I'm a regular or rather I was and was 1 minute late today opened the door at 12:01 when the class had not started to find out my spot was taken. I was offered a class in return not very generous on their part considering I paid a babysitter and a Lyft both ways to get there. If you miss a class they also charge you. I've also have come to this studio with a sign on there door no email no text that a class was unexpectedly canceled yet. If your a mother who is busy or a working professional this is not a studio you can count on I will be going elsewhere and not recommending this to friends any longer. read more

There's that saying..."Often duplicated, but never imitated." Well, in this case, at least in San Francisco, Bodyrok came first, then Core40. I've been going to Core40, but decided to try Bodyrok for an early morning Black Friday workout. Let me tell you something, I have ClassPass and been trying to get a class on the weekend at Bodyrok for awhile, it's so hard! They get booked up so quickly! Both studios feature the Lagree fitness method with a full body class and a combo class. It was what I expected, the usual Marina crowd. I've read some reviews and talk to some that have been to BodyRok, one person told me that they don't correct form. This is important because without good form, you won't feel any benefits and you can injure yourself. Luckily, the instructor, who subbed, Angela did walk around and correct form from time to time. I didn't like though that they had the older machines (M2 instead of M3 megaformers). Also, I didn't see much benefit of using the 3 pound weights and doing a crossing tap exercise with them instead of using the resistance bands. It's still a good workout, and I was still sweating, and a little sore the next day, but definitely feel like Core40 is better. What I do like about BodyRok is the size and the fact that they provide towels. As with most Lagree fitness studios, they don't have showers. If you can get into a full body class and live or work in the area then I think it's worth checking out. For me, I may consider coming back on a weekend because it's slightly easier to get to, but I will definitely be continuing my workouts at Core40 during the work week. read more

Bodyrok is a fabulous environment to have nearby - I love going in there daily for a number of reasons. 1. The girls and guys that work there are super friendly, knowledgable and excellent instructors. They get my best work out out of me, which is my goal. If I'm sore or taking it easy on an injury, they help me modify the exercises. They take the time to do that, and help along the way with body alignment and make sure you know how to do the poses properly, or help you adjust your posture on the bike. Form counts and definitely impacts your results! 2. I loved spin and yoga and everything else before I found Bodyrok when I moved up from LA, and I thought I was in pretty great shape :) Since doing their pilates classes regularly, I am the strongest I've ever been in my life, I can see and feel all of those little muscles you see in a bikini! Outside of being thrilled with the results of these workouts, I feel strong and confident and I can handle any kind of physical exertion outside of class. It is a whole health thing, I've wound up eating more healthy food and feeling better than I ever remember feeling! It brings me back to being an athlete on teams in HS and college and also being a ballet dancer. Its been about a year of regular classes and I'll do that until my legs fall off I guess! 3. The studio is really cute and stylish, great music, beautifully designed and the perfect size. You sign up in advance or try to drop-in and it is not intimidating - lots of women which is great! I just like going there - it is comfortable and cute and open round the clock. 40 minutes for a workout that you can fit in at almost any point during your day! It feels like an easy going friendly San Francisco version of a sorority, in a great way!! (I went to USC and it feels like Delta Gamma lol, a group of girl friends that all want to work together to stay in shape and spend time together) 4. It is a great workout for anybody who wants to improve their overall health and look better too! Bring the men in your life, they'll love it too. It's a fun date. In sum, I miss this place when I go on vacation or am out of town! There isn't anywhere like it. I strongly recommend giving them a try - do the trial monthly unlimited classes package - remember that for all fitness levels this is a challenging workout, so you do it regularly and watch as your body and strength improves and go at your own pace! It stays challenging - you don't get that plateau of results because your your body just gets used to it. If I miss a few classes it gets harder so I keep coming back. NO joke, it takes ten years off. Obviously I could go on and on - but I am a fitness nut, I've done almost every class at Equinox regularly, Soul Cycle, every kind of yoga, Tennis, Golf, Swimming, Team Sports and belong to clubs in the city but I LOVE this place and it is my go-to. Try it, you'll see :) read more

I've been a loyal resident of Bodyburn studio that offers Lagree fitness in Brooklyn NY for almost 2 years. I recently moved to SF for a job and was impatiently looking for an alternative studio (I mean this workout is the best). I came here a couple of times w different instructors and have to say that this place has no comparison, and not in a good way. Cons: - they don't really correct your form (dangerous, people seem to wonder and do different things, glad I know this workout so I can adjust my form); - it is difficult to understand instructions (either music is too loud or sound system is not good at all overall); - their megaformers are outdated (I've heard they are not certified, so they can't update their machines); - workout is not as challenging as it could be (it is shorter by 15mins than the one I had, that varies I guess, but they should account for the strive of some people to advance, also machine itself could be utilized better, there are so many efficient exercises you can incorporate in this workout, also would be nice to have smoother and faster transitions - again, audio issue and prepare the crowd a bit in advance); - no feel of community. Pros: close to my place; they offer towels; bright and airy studio. At the end, I will continue coming here twice a week since it is so close to my place and I still break a sweat, but have to top my workout with a run to/from the studio to get slightly closer to the intensity level I am used to. And will do core40 on weekends (it's a long walk for me but doable). read more

A pretty avid runner, cycler and gym enthusiast I turned to bodyrok to focus on refining muscle movements and building core strength. I cannot say enough good things about this studio. From the friendly staff, clean facilities to extremely challenging classes, Bodyrok has become a staple in my fitness and mental health routine. I started taking bodyrok in the late summer/early fall of 2019 and between now and then I have such a noticeable difference in not only my strength, but the way my muscle tone looks (can you say hello to less bloating and a flatter stomach??). Overall I recommend Bodyrok time and time again (they also have tons of specials through email!) read more

The instructors/classes are great and the front desk staff is lovely but the management and customer service is horrible. I've been charged twice now ($20 each time!) as a "no-show" despite having attended class and after over a month later I'm still trying to track down a refund. Moreover, pricing/fees change without notice or any communication to members (increased fee for late cancellation, new fee for pausing membership). And lastly, given the price of the membership/classes - there is a baseline of quality expected to be upkept that just isn't - the floors are filthy, some machines are missing components and several have straps that are different lengths. I wish management would care a bit more as the instructors and workout are great but it's just not worth it. read more

Tried this class via ClassPass and really enjoyed it. They follow all COVID safety protocols- class sizes are 5 max, socially distanced, garage door cracked for air flow, sanitized everything, and masks at all times. I typically do spin or HIIT and found this as an excellent workout to weave into my routine. Instructor was really nice, welcoming and demoed the exercises making it easy to follow. read more

Oh my goodness! Who invented these torture devices?! I just took a class last week with Kate Green. Coming from a background of martial arts and lots of years of barre, I felt like I wanted to try new things, so I signed up for classpass which allows you to test out a variety of work out classes in the bay. It was definitely a challenging work out and I was drenched in sweat. A few complaints that I do have about this place- I don't feel like it is as clean as the Haight location. I came in with white socks and left with the bottom dirty, it was kind of disgusting. Also the machine itself, smelled like a dirty gym sock and that grossed me out a bit. I love the work outs, but I think I'll stick to the more cleaner studios. read more

I've been plagued by running injuries this past year-- plantar fasciitis, hamstring tendiopathy, IT band strain. You name it (muscular or ligament), I've probably had it. After trying my hand at being a yogi and cyclist, and still not improving, I decided to try BodyRok's sculpt megaformer. I am SO glad I did. First off, these classes are HARD. I'm no stranger to weight training and intense HIIT, but no joke, I almost threw up my first few classes. Even after almost a year of consistently taking sculpt I STILL can't always complete the sequences. However, many of the instructors are incredibly motivating and help me push through. While I've stopped in to a few of the spin classes (when I really can't run and want a cardio fix)-- the real standouts at this studio are Brian and Kate's weekday morning classes. While you will sweat, and curse yourself (particularly in Brian's classes) you will come out feeling accomplished and notice results. The best part is when I'm consistent in attending class, I notice my running aches and pains disappear. One side note-- do not attempt Sculpt after a hard night out. There's nothing quite like trying to do a low lunge with champagne seeping from your pores and trying to balance on one leg while your hamstrings and outer glutes are burning like hell. Trust me. read more

Totally Rocks!!!! I'm addicted to Bodyrok full body sculpt. It is the best full body workout you can get in just 40 minutes. Had my first spin class ever with Caroline this morning at 6:50am. It was super challenging- I don't know how she teaches a bunch of those in a row! I had to bike to work afterword and my legs were definitely struggling. Fun class, loud music, and Caroline really pumped me up. Regarding the experience and facility, I like that they had fresh clean towels on all the bikes when you first arrive. It's also nice that they have combination lockers where you can keep all of your stuff safely during class. The studio is split into a spin area and a Pilates transformer machines area. I tried the sculpt class on the transformer machines a few days ago at their mission gym location and really enjoyed that as well. Too bad neither of their locations are really close to my home nor work, otherwise I'd probability go more! read more

One of my favorite places to take pilates! Instructors are always kind and give great direction. I never EVER felt uncomfortable or embarrassed. Just remember that when you come in you will leave with jello legs. Classes are short but to the point and work every muscle you could ever think of. As for the studio itself it is clean and aesthetic. They offer you towels to use during your class. If you are wary of the price definitely check out classpass as well. read more

I've been going to Bodyrok for over 5 years, but recently most of my classes have been with Cyna and Tracy, who are both great. I am a big fan and a regular at 3 of the studios. The teachers are awesome, the machines and facilities are nice. It would be 5* except the $12 late cancellation fee is excessive, especially on top of losing the money for the already expensive classes. Double punishment for regular customers is not a good thing. However, as exercise classes go, I highly recommend. read more

Bodyrok - We survived ROK! - Pilates Near Me - San Francisco, California

Up until I was 23, I hated all sorts of exercise, and I hated exerting myself. Then I started realizing that my metabolism was probably going to slow down at some point, so I started running. It flipped a switch in me, and I loved pushing myself to go farther and faster. Unfortunately I did too much too quickly (did I also mention that I'm impatient?) and ended up injuring my knee. So I fell off the workout train for awhile until I picked up Insanity, because I liked getting my ass kicked. When my mother told me that I had "too much muscle, like a boy," I looked for other options. Enter Bodyrok, a gym I'd always walked past since it's two blocks from my place. My first class ever was Sculpt (which is sort of like Pilates reformer), and let me tell you, I was shaking not even halfway through class, and every fiber in my body hurt the next two days. I literally had a hard time sleeping because once I lay down, I couldn't move into another position because it hurt too much. After I recovered, I decided to try out the Power Cycle class; I'd never done a spin class before, and Laura was super helpful (not to mention TOUGH). To this day, I religiously take her classes, and she's my absolute favorite instructor (I've taken other instructors' spin classes, but to me they're not very challenging or interesting). It's to the point where I feel disgruntled if I don't sweat out of every pore or feel like my legs are on fire. My normal routine now is morning workouts that alternate between Sculpt (Nic is my favorite for this class, as I always feel like I'm about to die, which, in this case, is a good thing) and Cycle with Laura. I can feel my body getting stronger, even for non-spin-or-sculpt-related exercises; I went running for the first time in a year, and I did a 5k with no problem. So glad I discovered this studio - it's clean, the instructors are very helpful and nice, and I'm always looking forward to my next class, even if it means waking up at the crack of dawn to get my butt kicked. read more

I have always considered myself in pretty good shape. My usual workout routine consists of running, mat Pilates, and some yoga. BodyRok is one of the most challenging workouts, if not the most challenging, that I have ever experienced. For example, on the ground, I can hold a forearm plank for at least 2 minutes. However, doing a forearm plank on those Megaformer machines is a whole different ballgame - I could barely hold my plank for 20 seconds. So far, I have taken 3 Full Body Sculpt classes with Katie and Ashley - both of these ladies are great instructors. Each sculpt class is only 40 minutes, but it is extremely efficient. I normally break a sweat after 5 minutes! The studio itself is bright, well-lit, and clean and the music is usually awesome! If you are looking for a challenging, efficient, and effective workout, check this place out. Just plan to sweat and to feel very sore the next day! read more

Solid Class Pass find. Nothing special. I have taken a few classes here and I think it's a solid three stars. My first visit I didn't dig the attitude of the instructor (Annie). "You HAVEN'T taken one of our basic classes before?" "Will you UNDERSTAND how to use the reformer machines?" Yes, lady. I went to college, have a full time job and own a child. I can figure out an exercise machine that's mostly made of wood. The spin studio is nice with fancy bikes, low light and loud music. They use most of the moves from Soul Cycle (weights below the seat, crunches, tap backs/press combo). The studio has a nice changing room but the bathroom floor is a mess. Tiles missing and not clean. Needs a new floor and deep scrub. If you need a quick workout that's on Class Pass, give this place a try with low expectations. read more
