Super friendly and welcoming staff and instructors. Unfortunately the studio didn't work out for me as parking is near impossible and I kept getting fined for no-shows. read more

I've been going to Karma since 2023 and it's truly become my favorite studio. They offer Hot Yoga, Hot Mat Pilates, and Hot HIIT, so there's something for every mood and movement style. The instructors and front desk employees are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and their playlists are a huge highlight with a mix of EDM, pop, and hip hop that makes every class feel like a workout and a vibe. I also love that you can select your own spot in advance, and the studio is thoughtfully spaced out. Highly recommend if you're looking for a challenging, high-energy workout in a welcoming environment! read more

This is a great studio for someone just not for me. First off the front desk staff is super friendly and helpful. You can tell they are really great at their work. I happened to try the studio out the second week of their opening at the new location. It's close to shake shack and tacko in the marina. There are two studios one in the lower room and one upstairs. It's a little wonky to get upstairs because you take your shoes off inside and then walk outside on a rug on the street to the upstairs location. You can opt to leave your shoes in a cubby outside on the street as well but I mean it's SF I wouldn't trust leaving anything you like outside. I only tried out the upper studio. It is clean which is nice! You are also assigned a mat location which can be nice depends on what you like. The room is heated but not overly. There are a range of classes from pilates to hiit to yoga. I am a yoga teacher and love the practice so I opted for yoga most of the time. The room is very dark and the music is very loud. The music competes with the downstairs music and voices and it's not a very zen experience. This place is focused on fitness so just know that going in. It seems similar to soul cycle with a dark room, trendy, and loud music. I did really enjoy one class and I can recommend this one it's the 5:15 power flow with Sevilla Santana. She's great and has creative flows and enjoyable music. I think they are still working out the details so there may already be improvements. They also provide a towel for every class, have water refill stations, deodorant and other hygienic items available, and the best part of course is the cold lavender towel they give you during Shavasana. Such a luxury after sweating it all out! You can't go wrong with the intro deal of 10 classes in 30 days. Give it a try and see if this place is for you. It's fun regardless and not much of a commitment. read more

Tried Carrie's heated HIIT class at their new studio and loved it! The workout was super challenging without feeling like you're dying in class. The infrared heat is perfect - you're dripping sweat but can still breathe. Parking was super easy, the space is cute, and everyone was so welcoming for my first time :) read more

aesthetic: 4/5 class: 5/5 service: 5/5 a chic and friendly yoga studio with wonderful heated workout classes. i came here to try out the hiit flow class and had carrie as my instructor, who was motivating, welcoming, and made the hour go by super quickly!! i really enjoyed the ab section of the workout and liked the class was structured, focusing on different body parts or alternating between a slow + controlled movement and speedier routines. although the heat takes getting used to, your efforts will be rewarded with a well-deserved scented cold towel at the end :) aesthetic-wise, the studio was very spacious and clean. i loved not having to cram certain postures to prevent bumping into fellow classmates, which has happened to me at other studios. the squishy floors are also a thoughtful design touch. as a marathon swimmer who trains down the street at aquatic park, i loved how nice a cardio-based hot yoga felt beforehand -- i 100% would recommend karma yoga for dryland training and will be back !! another bonus of taking classes here? being right next to feel-good, post-workout eats, like palmetto and wildseed ;) read more

A year later and I'm still coming here consistently. I can't get over their squishy floors. My knees thank them. They also have some of the best instructors, like Katie, Hilary, and Dana. read more

Took a couple of classes with classpass. Terrible experience. Very rude front desk, they pack a lot of folks inside a tiny space, it is almost suffocating. Also, do not expect any personal attention, you just have to follow the person next to you to figure out the moves. Final straw was terrible experience with the front desk, where they would not let me inside a class, even though I was within the exact time. It felt like they were out there to get you, so that they can get their no show fees. Never coming back again, there are a number of similar studios around Union Street. read more

Such an awesome vibe in there. It was my first time taking a class here, the instructor was great and super helpful (Jocelyn). The receptionist was so kind! I was telling her I was a bit nervous but she reassured me it'll be fine and gave me the boost of confidence I needed. She gave me my complementary towel and gave me a great tour (I believe her name is Cali). The place was super clean and they kept up with all the classes. The beginners yoga class was perfect, the poses were great and I got to take it at my pace. Will be returning! read more

Sadly I loved this studio for Taylor's class alone, but they're so unaccommodating here. They changed the class time recently to 15 min early without making a big announcement. Of course, I got here 10 min early, which is 6 min after the new start time and they wouldn't let me in. The front desk girls apparently cannot make any exceptions. I've been coming here every week consistently for maybe 6 months - haven't missed a single class - and now I missed my last class because I'm moving. Honestly I almost cried. This is just not the way to treat your customers. read more

I want to love this place because the instructors I've taken classes with are awesome and I love the structure of the flows themselves, but I have a huge issue with how they set up the rooms. They try and fit way too many people in the large studio. Today in my hot hit flow class I had the pleasure of being 3 inches away from my neighbor who sweat on me all of class. Not only are you way too close for comfort, but there's truly not enough space to even do the moves properly. I get that Karma wants to make that money, but if they were to remove just one mat spot from each row it would be 1000x more pleasant. read more

I've been a big fan of karma for years. Love the classes, have brought a handful friends along with and was so happy they got creative during COVID with the digital and outdoor class options (bring back the garage rooftop!). Finally attended my first class this last Saturday back in person and it did not disappoint! Before booking the class I figured buying a 10 pack would be a good way to go so I could get a slight discount on the class price but also because they do not expire for 2 years so a big win win there. Was checking my emails this morning and saw a new deal they had just sent out - 20 classes for $300 and no expiration. Woah! I emailed immediately to ask if there would be any way to return my pack and switch to this new deal and that I would be more than happy to pay for the 1 class I used or subtract that from the 20 and still pay the full price. The email response telling me there was no way they could do that was really disappointing. I totally get times are tough because of COVID but my class was jam packed Saturday and I'm guessing they will continue to be that way because of how much people love a good sweat. Just a note I thought I'd leave here. Great classes but really turned off by this interaction. read more

Karma has been my go-to studio because they have really great friendly instructors and an impressive class selection. Unfortunately, because my most recent visit was such a horrible experience, I may be finding a more welcoming regular studio for my weekly workouts. I was utterly taken back by the front of the house staff and their treatment of a regular client. I've been coming to the evening classes consistently 3x a week for the past year. One rainy evening, I got there EXACTLY 6 minutes late due to traffic and parking, and at check-in was immediately turned away by the front desk staff saying the cut off is 5 minutes. I plead my case I was a regular, and because this was the first time I was late and not the norm, if could they make an exception for this 1 MINUTE. They still turned me away after I traveled from the opposite end of the city, and then the following week charged me $20 on classpass for missing class. I wish their teachings and brand of the studio of being an open and inviting space, translated to their business and customer service. After reading past reviews of their front desk staff, feels like bad karma. read more

Consider my review a 4.5/5. I love Karma! I've been to corepower, yogaflow, and the pad -- after trials at all 3 places, karma was the easy choice. PROS: -Variety of class options (hot yoga, traditional bikram, hot pilates which is basically a boot camp type of class and it's awesome) -2 studios (small holds 20, large holds 50) -Heated rooms; yoga flow and the pad are not heated for hot yoga. I don't think the pad claims to be, but yoga flow does. I barely broke a sweat -They clean the room/sweaty floors after! Yoga flow and the pad don't do this after each class which is gross -Nice showers and bathrooms with amenities -Free face towels for class (with membership) -Mat towels for rent (I have seen places rent mats but not mat towels) -You must reserve a spot online (or get assigned one when you check in). This prevents over crowding the class CONS: -Pretty strict cancellation (5 hrs). Wish it was 2 like I've seen elsewhere. My unpredictable work schedule makes the 5 hours tough to abide by -Being quiet before class isn't enforced (mainly applies to large studio). Makes it tough to clear my mind and reset -Shoes aren't allowed downstairs where the studios and bathrooms are. I don't like being barefoot in the bathroom/spreading bathroom germs into the studio with bare feet read more

Consistently good yoga classes. They mix up the flows and are unique and different every time. Carrie's classes in particular are awesome. I wish the rooms were a little hotter but it's a good sweat! read more

After wavering between whether I should enroll in a membership here or at The Pad Studios down the street, I decided on Karma Yoga and boy, am I glad I did! Here are the general pros backing my decision: -Karma Yoga focuses on more popular classes and provides them throughout the day, making class attendance easy. I frequent Power Yoga and Hot Pilates. -Karma Yoga's environment seems higher quality, larger -You have to pay significantly more for Pilates at the Pad Studios, but at Karma Yoga, it's all included -instructors seem more energetic and excited to teach -Karma Yoga has much nicer facilities, the bathroom and retail space in particular are much nicer I'd definitely recommend Karma Yoga to friends. read more

This is an update from my original review. I have gone back with some convincing of my friend who goes faithfully and although the classes are still full, its not at bad as before covid. But I agree with my previous review the other reviews about feeling crammed into the studio and I still can't get past the 10 hour cancellation window. A lot can happen within 10 hours! You either cancel within 10 hours or you lose your class. And those classes aren't cheap! Membership prices are outrageous. And you know this is the kind of studio that would increase membership priced with the least benefits. I see why my friend uses ClassPass. Also, they took out their YIN classes which I enjoyed but always thought they were way too late and I wish they had earlier classes on the weekends - 6am or 7am start times would be great and earlier classes during the week. I think they use to have 4-430 pm classes which was nice but now their earlier is 5:15 pm. One last thing, some of the teachers have their music way too loud. It kinda kills the "yoga vibe" and hard to hear the instructor. Studio is still very clean as I remember and the front desk still nice and helpful....To be continued:-) read more

I have a love/hate relationship with Karma Yoga. The studio space is cute and clean, hot workouts are the best, and their classes are great! However, being at Karma feels like I'm in the movie "Mean Girls" (they wear Lulu everyday, not just Wednesdays). I've been loyal to Karma via ClassPass and their own app for years. Last week, I got to class and had a parking meter catastrophe. Instead of leaving early I was honest with the front desk and said I wouldn't be able to make the whole class. However, Eva Braun behind the counter said she would tell ClassPass I was late. I told her I was there and she had already marked me as checked me in. Eva stated me leaving early violated their terms with ClassPass, but she lying and saying I was late didn't. Leaving early bad, lying good. Now I come on Yelp and see they've been marking others as falsely late too. Glad to know I wasn't the only victim of their wrath! read more

Candlelight flow with Emily Meersand. You need this in your life. 7:45pm-9pm might seem late but you won't regret taking this amazing class. Some reasons why: - Emily has over 10 years of experience teaching all over the world - Poses are described perfectly with bits of yoga history tossed in - Music isn't obnoxious. All relaxing tunes - The room is heated just enough for you to master poses - The studio smells and looks amazing with candles After this class you will feel inspired, sleep well and build on any level of yoga practice you have. Emily Meersand teaches all over SF so be sure to Google her - I'm a huge fan! read more

Darn no zero star option. Part of me didn't even want to waste any further time on this studio writing this review, but I feel somewhat obligated to share my experience and a number of other students urged me to submit a review. I apologize that this may end up being quite lengthy but I feel providing context is helpful and enlightening in terms of how the owner has chosen to operate her business. To provide background I hold memberships at several gyms, in addition to Classpass, & have a Peleton bike at home - needless to say, working out is by far my favorite past time and I take it seriously. I'm a student who always arrives early, shows appreciation to instructors and I try to push myself as hard as I can during the workout. The primary class I take (took) at Karma is the Inferno Pilates class. It's my understanding in all group fitness classes, content should accommodate participants of all levels ranging from beginners to advanced, those with injuries etc. As I do a great deal of cardio, I have to push myself harder to achieve a desired level of intensity (RHR 40-42bpm) so during HIIT portions of the class, I typically add a little "jump" during the moves (e.g. at the end of burpees, try to touch the ground when doing squat jumping jacks, etc - just to give myself a bit of "extra" to get my heart rate up - if I don't do this, then I get very little out of the workout - also don't take breaks if I don't feel like I need them. I've had several folks come up to me after class and thank me for helping push them to continue and that seeing someone pushing themselves in the class actually helped motivate them to continue and they got a better workout (honored to hear that!) All good? Sadly no. The owner gave me the "can I talk to you" request after one of the classes and informed me that students have been emailing her and telling her that they refused to take the class if I was there - saying that having someone that "intense" in the class made them feel pressured that they had to follow suit (e.g. jump etc). My jaw was on the ground. Firstly, I'm someone who is just focused on my own workout and embrace a "you be you" philosophy. There have been times where I'm next to someone in class and while I'm killing myself trying to do burpees, they're just standing there drinking water and fixing their hair not even moving. If I followed the same philosophy, I could easily say that having people in class who are not exerting effort, just standing there, stopping etc is very DEMOTIVATING and makes me feel like stopping and giving up. BUT I don't think that way. I think everyone owns their own workout and more power to you - you do you. If you want to amp things up, go for it! If you want to just lie there like a vegetable, go for it! Don't we improve in life by pushing ourselves and surrounding ourselves with people who might be more advanced. LOL imagine if we didn't want to learn from teachers who were smarter than us haha! It's impossible to be in any class setting and force everyone to be at the same level - each person is unique and people should respect differences rather than try to get rid of them. I can't imagine taking a weights or bootcamp class and complaining about the person next to me because they were using heavier weights than I was or being in a yoga class and complaining about the person next to be because they can do a handstand and I can't. I just can't wrap my head around it - it's mind blowing. So once again, after hearing this you can imagine how uncomfortable I felt going to class since I had no idea who submitted a complaint (TBH the vibe I got when talking to her was that she was lying and just hated when I amped up the moves and just said she got complaints when she really didn't). I was chatting with some other students and they said that sounded insane and couldn't understand why anyone would not come to a class because someone was pushing themselves. Makes zero sense. I took a few weeks off and just went back for the first time, for some reason thinking maybe things would be ok. Sadly they weren't. Immediately after class, the owner asked to "talk to me" again. Long story short, she said I have TWO options: 1) Do EXACTLY what is being demonstrated with no jumping & taking the "required" breaks (aka have a shitty workout 2) Find another place to workout. Wow. Clearly this is a studio for robots. What was even more jaw-dropping is what she said next: "We had a staff meeting and talked about you and the instructors said that when you change the routine by jumping, it makes them feel like they're "not enough" and they feel bad about themselves" Really? That's not what they said to me, so either they were lying to me when they told me they liked students who push themselves OR the owner is lying to get her way. It's easier for her to just get rid of me and tell me that students and instructors are complaining. - Peace Out #FindingaRealWorkoutElsewhere read more

It's 95° degrees, getting hotter by the second, and we're only in round two of the first cardio set. I've been dripping sweat since we got here and there's still core, arms, legs, and more cardio to look forward to. I love it. The heat, it's hot, and with a room full of crazies like yourself it will get hotter, but, unbeknownst to you, the heat provides an almost muscle-soothing element that will get you through the toughest heart-pounding movements. I love it. Five Stars. read more

I've only been here just a few times but this is what ive gathered so far: Pros: -Super clean studio -Friendly front desk people -New class times -Heated classes - YES! Cons: -They pack in the studios for almost every class and it's hard to practice when you're so close to someone that your hands hit....they need to spread the spaces out more. Lord knows that everyone who goes to this studio (and almost any studio in the bay area) pays a pretty penny and would appreciate a comfortable practice -They offer this deep stretching class with oils (super nice and not enough LOL!) a few times a week....so good but the times during the week and on Sunday's are so latee: 715pm during the week and 515-530pm on Sunday's and these classes are about 70-75mins long! I do wish there were earlier classes. Also, feedback on the last class I went to this past Tuesday with a friend: the teacher read SO much during the beginning and during the end of class. it was kind of annoying. I would rather practice a deep stretch than to listen to a book passage. no offense but its true. Also, she had us doing all of these fast yoga moves before the deep stretching began. It was hard to keep up especially if you're a beginner. Maybe slow it down a bit and not read SO much during the shavasana pose Overall, def a cool studio read more

By far the best Yoga Studio I've ever been to. Wonderful instructors that genuinely care about your form and experience! This is an expensive studio but it is worth the money! Take Tara's class! She's wonderful, attentive, kind and patient. I'm not a huge Yogi but her classes are so peaceful. + Beautiful Studio (marble, wood, clean and very spacious) + Heated Rooms (they also offer non-heated classes) + Oils and Sprays for the rooms (they smell wonderful and make the classes so enjoyable) + Again, very spacious and ample room in the studios themselves + Free cold water downstairs (need to bring your own H20 bottle but still a plus!) + Candlelight lit rooms and tranquil music in the background - Not enough classes on the weekends (I know they're revamping their schedule soon though!) read more

Karma exceeded my expectations by, like, a lot!!! I came up from Los Gatos specifically to experience this studio. I have taken Carrie Bracken's classes at Yogasource in LG and just knew she'd be doing something fantastic with her new venture. My step daughter insisted we attend candlelight yoga with Emily Meersand as she had been to several of these classes already and was hooked! Emily was a very enjoyable, challenging, kind and generous yet sometimes deliciously relentless teacher. Her cues were spot on and the flow arrangement was interesting and engaging. The studio itself was very clean and modern with plenty of cubbies in the lounge area as well and lockers in the ladies room (complete with showers) and the room had the DREAMIEST studio flooring I have ever set my mat on. It was firm yet slightly plush. I was skeptical at first but turns out it helped my landings, my knee to mat contact and my wrist to floor contact. The temperature and humidity of the room were controlled to perfection. I can't wait to get back in the rooms at Karma Yoga and I highly recommend you giving it a go as well! read more

The shower, the bathroom, and the studio is very nice. The yoga classes are smaller which is very pleasant. I was in a class with 9 people. I only took one class but my instructor was really good. I am knocking down a star because at the end of the practice, the instructor massaged the girl next to me on the left and then next to me on the right. That got me very distracted about why she skipped me. Not a big deal but kind of ruined my dedication. I will definitely go again. read more

Karma Yoga is the new kid on the block. It's one of several hot yoga and fitness studios in the same vicinity. (Yoga Flow is one block away.) I came through ClassPass to check out the hot pilates class. I don't know if "hot pilates" is the best label for it, as it fuses high-intensity intervals (i.e. burpees) with a few traditional, fast-paced pilates moves, but really it's more of a bootcamp with bodyweight moves. To back up, the studio is clean and modern. It's two levels, and they sell merchandise (mostly yoga apparel) on the first floor. Mat rentals are $3. They have cubbies, large bathrooms and locker areas, and a spacious lounge area - all downstairs. I'm always a bit wary of heated classes because they make the workout seem so much harder by default, and all the slipping and sliding on my own sweat makes it hard to do moves. Hot pilates consisted of moves you're probably familiar with, like tricep push-ups, lunges, side planks, bicycle crunches, and hip raises, with some HIIT sprinkled in between each set. Overall, it was pretty challenging (in part because the heated room made me dizzy) and my core and glutes burned a lot. But was it fun and enjoyable? I'm on the fence. It was a bit too repetitive (you do each set 4x), and truthfully I can do most of the moves at home. On the plus side, the instructor and the staff were super friendly, and I know that a lot of people are drawn to super sweaty, fast-paced workouts, so this might be your cup of tea. It's worth a shot. I'll be back to try the power yoga and wish this new studio the best of luck! read more

This studio sucks. They only care about making a buck. Staff are rude and unhelpful. They give away your spot after five minutes. What about SF traffic? I can understand 15 minutes. Or 10. But 5? Really? read more

The studio is nice and the staff is great. Both the Hot Pilates and Yoga classes are excellent. Some feedback would be to add noon (or around that time) classes; Put tissues and hand cream in the bathroom; ensure that people don't walk into the studios with their shoes on- I've seen this happen so many times; stop being psycho about the towels- the classes are heated so we shouldn't be told we can't have more than 1 (small, thin) towel. read more

I think they did a lot of remodeling to make it a nice heated yoga studio. For a trendy neighborhood in SF, I'm glad someone came up with the idea for a heated yoga studio. The studio is very nice I must say and staff are very friendly! However, they sell a hot room bootcamp as hot Pilates. I went looking for a classic hot Pilates class and when the class started the teacher told me (after asking who was new) that this isn't the standard hot Pilates class but more of a bootcamp one. It is a good workout if you're into bootcamps, but they should be clear in the description or just not call it Pilates. read more
