I highly recommend Kiley's business The Dailey Method for: 1) Her approach is sensitive, mindful and thoughtful to her clients, and her approach flows throughout to her instructors. 2) I take the Dailey Basics and Dailey Barre classes. They are effective in it has kept my core tight from the spread one gets as a "women of a certain age". It's also kept my bum, legs and arms tight. Overall my body is tighter, my alignment and stance is better. Kiley and team teach technically challenging and mentally stimulating classes. The classes vary between, Dailey Bar, Interval and Fusion all of which test your alignment, coordination and strength. I've been going regularly to TDM classes for about the last 8 months and I couldn't have better things to say about this studio, the workout, the owner, and the instructors. Truly sad to be moving out of SF. The studio is clean and cozy - they sell organic, natural snacks and drinks, and cute yoga clothes. Spacious for SF; never felt crowded in any of the classes. The workout is fantastic - I've felt soreness in deep muscles I didn't even know could be exercised. I love that the exercises don't require heavy weights, and almost everything can be done at home or on vacation. I've truly seen and felt a real change in my body. The owner, Kiley, is truly a ray of sunshine and her positive energy is infectious. I look forward to her classes She will learn your name the first time you come into class, and personally follow up with you to ensure your experience was great. She makes corrections individually during the classes to help you achieve the best workout, but never makes you feel singled out. If you need to stop for any reason, you can. There is no pressure to do anything that doesn't feel right for your body, which is often not the case for other intense fitness studios. She offers modifications throughout the class, allowing everyone, regardless of their abilities, to participate fully in all the exercises. Her class doesn't just leave you feeling refreshed and strengthened physically, but emotionally and spiritually as well. Kiley never change! All the instructors are fantastic. I love Dailey Method, I hate Dailey Method. Well, I only hate it when I'm gasping in the middle of class. I'm not going to lie, this isn't easy. It's ballerina boot camp, what I imagine pilates to be like, and medieval torture all rolled into one. I've had my thighs shake so violently I thought I might hit my head on the bar. I wasn't quite sure how I was going to make it to my 4th floor walk up after class either. But I made it, and I've been returning ever since. Taylor is my absolute favorite instructor. Her classes are so hard I'm convinced they count for two visits. (This is a good thing) Not only does she push everyone to work their hardest while being so darn nice, but I've noticed that when we do exercises that are difficult for me because of a knee injury she is always right next to me to make sure I'm doing the right modification. Classes aren't cheap, but you make up for it in results. I'm happy to fork over the cost of 2 drinks a week to drop a dress size. If that isn't enough proof here's the thing - I just took a three week hiatus, and I already noticed a change in my body for the worse. Yes, I just used my butt (am I allowed to use the A-word on this thing?) as a unit of measurement for a review. And I just scheduled two classes for this week. read more

I have been a regular of Dailey Method for over a year now. I am an avid fitness buff. I workout every day, whether it be walking, spinning, running or weight lifting. Dailey Method provides me with a break from my own routine. Dailey Method has whipped me into shape like nothing else! I love it! The class works all parts of the body: arms, legs, butt and abs- all in one hour. The class also involves a lot of awesome deep yoga-like stretching. I have a difficult time actually making myself stretch before and after cardio on my own- and I hate yoga. Dailey Method has provided me with a good outlet for toning and stretching. I have attended classes at the Rincon Center and in Burlingame. However, the Cow Hollow location is my all time favorite. Taylor is the best instructor I have taken at Dailey Method. She has this awesome drill sergant way of very sweetly telling you to take down another inch and do one more set and hold it for 8 more seconds. She smells nice too. Really, she always has the best perfume! If you are considering Dailey Method I suggest you try a class with Taylor. I also suggest that you splurge and buy the sticky bottom socks, they really make a difference. read more

I was a little hesitant at first going to the Daily Method, because I am a runner, and I am not flexible at all. The first instructor I had was a witch. She kept singling me out because I couldn't lift my leg on the bar. Sorry I have muscle and am tight. The next time I went I had Taylor. She was so sweet an amazing. She pushed me but she had so much energy, not to mention a body to die for. I went back and had another instructor. She was so boring that I went for a run after. No one compares to Taylor's instruction. If you want a hard, challenging workout by a motivating, teacher who won't single you out, but makes you push yourself, go to Taylor's class. Probably my favorite workout studio in San Francisco! It's a bit out of my way in terms of commute, but I always make an effort to get over here for a class. I have gone to 3 classes at the Dailey Method (with 3 different instructors) and definitely agree with other reviews on here that Taylor is really the best part about this studio. I have taken barre classes at other studios (Physique 57 in NY and Bar Method in Downtown SF location) and compared to all the instructors I have seen, Taylor is really an amazingly energetic and inspiring instructor! The only gripe I have about this studio is that the Saturday morning classes I attended were jam-packed, literally elbow to elbow. It was difficult to do arm exercises and planks without hitting the person next to you. I also found finding free parking on a Saturday morning to be rather difficult. Overall, a very clean and welcoming studio and a class with Taylor felt like 2 bar method classes! read more

It's been almost a year since I converted....I can truly say it's been a serious integral part of my overall fitness regimen. Taylor continues to be the most motivating, most energetic instructor. Seriously, yesterday, my friend, whom experienced her first class....was most impressed with Taylor's energy, her fine teaching skills and her umph! I have exercised in a large gym setting like the Bay Club for most of my life, but now I have Dailey Method-Mania! I am challenged by the Dailey Method instructors (especially Taylor!) and I am motivated by the client's sculpted, strong bodies. I am regularly humbled by beautiful women in their 50s out performing me in class, although I know I shouldn't compare myself... I am nearing the end of my first month of Dailey Method (going ~ 3x per week). I am have become a devout DM believer. I'm not new to the world of exercise. In the past two years I've run multiple marathons and half marathons and I've been a regular bikram yoga participant. None of these activities made my body change as quickly as the Dailey Method. Taylor is the best fitness teacher i have ever had! I tried the Dailey Method with a girlfriend for fun and because we wanted a good workout. We bought a package of 10 classes and chose random days to go. While all the teachers we had here are great, Taylor is by far the best. Her classes are super busy but she manages to give everyone individual attention, and makes sure your body is in the correct positions (which is great because I think Im always in a wrong position). She is super energenic and makes exercise fun. And i was beyond suprised when she remembered us after only one class. My friend and i live in the mission and thought we would start attending the new Dailey Method on market st when it opened. We went once, but then missed Taylor, and now we try to only go to her class. One last thing, my friend is now very pregnant. Last saturday we took Taylors class again. Taylor was so kind to my friend and really took care of her. Throughout the class,Taylor gave my friend many alternative posses and was always checking in to make sure my friend was comfortable while also getting a good workout. So after a year of being hesitant because I was afraid I wouldn't be able to handle it, I finally took the dive and started coming here a few months ago through the$100 new client unlimited deal and-- I seriously wish I started sooner!!! When I finally came, it was not intimidating at all. There are people of all levels, and the instructors are all extremely patient/ helpful with giving corrections and making sure everyone does each posture correctly. I usually go to Taylor's classes and ahh I love her!! She is really sweet and so energetic. I always feel extra sore after a class with her, and my legs will still shake when I walk out of class afterwards. I'm not sure how Taylor does it, but she somehow always walks over just as I've thought I've reached my limit, and her enthusiasm gives that extra push through the torture- I mean posture! Some other instructors I really like are Delilah, Chelsea, and Sharon. You can't really go wrong with anyone, they all have their own style, and there are different twists to the postures every week so it never gets boring. After three months, my body has changed soo much! My stomach has flattened out, I see muscles peeking out from my abs, I have visible biceps for the first time in my life, my legs have become leaner, and an ass, I have an ASS!!!!! I like to run, and this has increased my flexibility too, I can finally touch the ground without bending my knees! Awesome music selection too!!! It's really upbeat and dance-ish. I bought an introductory month-long pass that DM promotes for new customers. Because I was not working, I was able to take full advantage of the pass and go several times per week for a whole month. The first couple of classes kicked my butt, and I was very sore for some time in several muscle areas. In short order, I found my physique changing for the positive. I definitely got more toned and flexible. However, I found myself incredibly bored after about a dozen classes. The movements were very dull and repetitive despite the subtle changes teachers would make. Basically, you do the very same method (hence Dailey method), to achieve results in various body/muscle areas. I don't think of myself as particularly athletic, but I have been a dancer, runner, and swimmer from a very young age, and as a dancer (ballet, tap, jazz, modern) I am accustomed to doing endless stretches, warm-ups and bar exercises, but I also enjoy the part where you get to dance. I feel like the DM focuses on achieving results, rather than enjoying movement and achieving a great body as a by-product. I realize the DM is not a dance studio, and so bottom line: DM is a solid method to get results if you want a toned body, but it's not a particularly interesting way to get there, at least not for me. read more

A great mix of light weight work, stretching, and muscle contractions to build up core strength. I've been to this class once. It was hard. Guys aren't flexible, guys don't work on their core, guy's don't train on ballet bars. So I don't know what first position is. Big deal. Let's see how much you bitches can bench! Just kidding. Serious review: I started dating my wife over four years ago. Back then, she was one of those crazy chica's who used to get up at 5:30 for the weight class at Gorilla on Polk. Is she didn't get there before six, all of the other psycho marina girls would take her weights. Bitches. About a year or two into our relationship, one of her dearest friends, who happened to be a personal trainer at the time, introduced her to Dailey Method. She loved it (my wife, that is). I thought it would be a fleeting obsession, but its wasn't. Dailey Method toned my honey for our wedding, honeymoon, and will now do the same her post baby body. It is her therapy, and it keeps both of us sane. Now the negative. You have to wear lululemon. I tried to convince my wife that other brands would do, but then I remembered what it was like to have to wear my fake acid washed guess jean jacket from Korea back in middle school: I felt like everybody knew. Oh how my buns, abs and thighs miss this place! If only I wasnt locked into a Crunch contract and the prices werent so high at Dailey, I would be a consistent member... No but really this is the BEST workout! And those who tell you otherwise are just not doing it right. Within the first 5-10 minutes I feel the pain and the gain. I had never had such tight abs and thighs then when I went here on a "dailey" basis. Plus I have a bad back and this really helped with my allignment and my spine. I would encourage you to try out the $100 unlimited, however if you cant afford the steep bill for future classes I would say save yourself the disappointment because you will be come addicted, and will want to go again! One more side note: much better then Bar Method! I found better results, classes were more challenging and different. Plus the music is better and the teachers are less uptight. read more

After trying the 30-day intro at the Bar Method, I thought I'd give the Dailey Method a shot before committing. To be totally honest, I was disappointed, but I think I had just been spoiled by the Bar Method. At Dailey, there is only 1 small studio. The locker room is one itty bitty space and the lockers are always full. There is one restroom and shower and everything is just cramped. You can't sign up on-line, so I always feel like I'm rushing to get to class. The workout, however, is amazing. Same style as the Bar with some different moves. The class is a little faster pace, so that can be challenging for new comers like me. The reason I keep going back: the music rocks! They've got a sweet play list and there's nothing like a little JT that makes me want to work my ass out more. read more

Or, if you're planning to rock a red one-piece bathing suit and prance around SF channeling Yasmine Bleeth for "Baywatch to Breakers"... you go 5 times a week. And perhaps even double-up one day. They say "the shaking is your body changing" and there's no doubt Dailey gives results like whoa. When I'm super committed you'll find me in checking-in at the Cow Hollow studio for the earliest morning classes before work (6am M/W/F and 6:30am T/Th).You'll look great, feel even better, and get "longer, leaner, stronger and more fit." I swim/bike/run on the regular, but Dailey helps with my tri training by improving my strength and flexibility. Some companies have earned corporate discounts for their employees, and there are also "trade" shifts available to work both front desk and childcare shifts in exchange for free classes. Great for those that can't afford the prices after the initial $100 new client unlimited month. The Dailey Method's blend of yoga, Pilates, ballet and weight work, has me pushing myself so hard it causes my limbs to noticeably shake. Strength training is a core part of this unique exercise philosophy. At first, the sessions seem fairly easy since classes start with moderate moves for warm up, some of which incorporate lightweight dumbbells. However, I think that the most intense part of the class comes during the thigh exercises and seat work which use small precise movements to isolate glute and abdominal muscles. For example, being asked to stand on my tiptoes and dip down for a series of endless plies (it helps to know a few ballet terms in this class) has me draped over the ballet barre trying not to cry at the pain. So, why do I remain devoted to this class? I've been an athlete my whole life and have done it all: swimming, running, yoga, Pilates, triathlons, and this is one of the best one-hour full-body workouts I've ever done. It's all about developing the perfect posterior (and a few other parts of the anatomy too). Great tuchus here I come! read more

Do you want a: Firm ass? Toned abs? Lines in your triceps? Biceps? All of the above? Regular attendance at the Dailey Method will put you well on your way to having a sculpted and toned body. I'm always amazed at how quickly my body adjusts back to its slovenly state whenever I slack on coming to class. Highly suggest making the rounds with various instructors, I am much more inspired when I attend class with one of my favorites. Not all instructors are as precise or thorough, so its imperative that you understand proper form when you begin this class. That being said, I prefer it to the Bar Method for variety, better music and a more relaxed atmosphere. Either gym is beneficial though as most women do cardio versus toning exercises. Ten minutes into my first class at the Dailey Method, I thought to myself "Wow...this is pretty much ballet/yoga/pilates on steroids. Or ballet boot camp. Either way, my muscles already hate me and this is pure torture." But that's a good thing. I have been a member of 24-hour Fitness for 7 years, and that gym routine has gotten stale. I've recently been trying out new workouts such as pilates on the reformer, and so I jumped at the chance to try out The Dailey Method using a Groupon-type deal. So far, I've only been to two classes. Chelsea (a little blond firecracker of an instructor) was very helpful at my first go-round at this muscle-exhausting workout. The movements, she admitted, do not come very naturally. The small, controlled movements felt awkward to me, but they were effective, as evidenced by the soreness in my body that lasted about 3 days after the class. After the first class, I told Chelsea that I loved the workout and felt really out of shape. She replied that "everybody always feels out of shape after these classes." I really like the rhythm of this class, and it's fabulous that the instructors "instruct" to the beat of the music. You'll just have to go try out one of the classes to see what I'm talking about. It's very motivational for some reason. I am going to have to cut out some other extra curriculars to fund this new yet expensive workout regimen, but, trust me - it works and I look forward to seeing results! read more

So far so good- been here maybe 3 times so far and enjoyed the calmer workout than I'm used to with a crazy cardio session. I am sort of an exercise addict so while some of the moves are sort of easy, a lot of them get pretty tough with all the reps and many of them aren't moves I do on my own (or with a trainer). I like getting some yoga and pilates moves in as I think classes dedicated to those things might bore me a little- this class has fun music so you can jam out in your head (at least I do) as you take the moves a little slow. I think it's a great addition to anyone's current exciting or ho-hum exercise routine. It's a little pricey if you ask me- I got the newbie unlimited month but I wish there were more incentives for existing clients beyond the normal packages- seems repeaters would be their bread and butter and some sweeter deals would be great. Don't forget to wear socks- nubby ones if you have them! read more

I recently bought a Groupon for The Dailey Method in Cow Hollow and I'm so glad I did! As soon as I walked in the door, I was warmly greeted by the receptionist, filled out some paperwork, promptly taken on a tour and introduced to my instructor. The studio is adorable and well-kept with plenty of light, the staff members are SO friendly (Georgia's my favorite instructor and on my 2nd class with her, she remembered my name. Impressive with so many people coming through!) and the classes are intense (in a good way). I have never felt like I needed to own a specific brand of clothing or be a specific size to work out here. Or maybe I'm just not noticing other people while I'm focusing on what I'm doing, but either way, it's worth it to give it a chance. read more

I am obsessed with the Dailey Method. It is the most difficult class that I have ever taken in my life (by far) and you really get amazing results in a relatively short amount of time. I work out all the time but was tired my routine of spinning and running so decided to try DM. It is WAY better than pilates or yoga and has seriously changed my body (slimmer thighs, waist, stronger arms and back). Don't be intimidated as a beginner - the instructors will work with you and if you start going on a regular basis you will improve quickly. I love this gym. It has easy online booking, the classes are small and easy to follow, and the bathrooms and showers are very clean. But most importantly it utterly kicked my ass, regardless of where you fall in the fitness spectrum you really feel it. Some instructors are stronger than others, but all of them will give you any extra assistance you need when you ask, which I did several times. I appreciated them fixing my form and keeping me away from injury. At first everything seems impossible, but in a couple months you realize you keeping up, which is a great feeling. If you can get into Kylie or Perri's classes in particular, they are absolutely worth it. read more

The marketing speak doesn't lie. I have been going to DM for about 2 months, and really like it. I get a great, toning workout, and the hour flies right by. When I first started, I went more often to take advantage of the intro deal, and my body went down about a size. It was awesome! I don't really like feeling in adequate in non-Lululemon clothes (seriously, you will see every style at one of these DM classes), and don't like when the teacher pays too much attention to me (even though I know it's for my own good). I kind of enjoy walking around like a Gremlin the next day (a little hunched over because my abs are so sore), and I like feeling more and more sore as the day goes on. read more

DM offers a great one hour workout, that will have you feeling sore the next day (the good kind of sore). It is extremely yuppie, which I like! There is a small locker room, two studios, and helpful staff. The instructors keep you constantly moving through small movements that really target specific muscle groups of your body. It's a combination of bar work, weights, stretches, pilates, yoga, and more. Try the $100 for 1 month of unlimited classes for new clients. I would suggest no more than 3 classes/week. read more

To any naysayer or disbeliever, all I have to say is... "Try it, you'll like it" Variety is the spice of life and Dailey Method will shake up any fitness regimen. Your first class will be the most awkward experience of your life. You likely wont be able to hold the plank the whole time (it lasts 1min30) and are going to be very caught off guard when you're asked to put your ankles over your head...but the soreness in your body after the first time and the results you achieve after multiple classes will keep you coming back for more. (Oh yes, the grippy socks help A LOT) The instructors all have their own unique teaching style. I have my favorite instructors that I frequent but mix in the others as much as I am able. If you didn't like your first instructor, come back a second time and see if she is a better fit for you. Welcome to you next new addiction! read more

I danced most of my life until a knee injury. Over time, I have done a few different types of yoga, pilates (at Elle Herman which is great), and just yesterday tried the The Daily Method with Jill for the first time. It was amazing. Not only was it one of the harder workouts I have tried, the music was awesome and so was Jill. She was very interactive, making adjustments to students and generally keeping us motivated. My legs were like jello and overall I feel like it was the best hour long workout I have had in years. I think having a dance background helped because I understand body placement pretty well, but I think anyone could do it and get a ton of benefit and the instructor will guide you. I will be back! I took a Thursday morning class with Jessica Troy a few weeks ago. She kicked my butt! Super challenging seat work and abs. Class was well paced- I never felt bored over overworked in one area. She provided great modifications and adjustments (I hadn't been to a class in ages and needed them). Probably one of the best workout playlists I've heard in a while, too. read more

The dailey method rocks! I've been going here since late November and I really love these classes. The schedule is accommodating to most work schedules and the classes are challenging and fun. For me, an important factor is having good music to keep me motivated as I'm feeling the burn of the pilates/ballet/light weight workouts. Honestly, if it weren't for the LMFAO, mixed with Adele, Rhianna, and others...I'm not sure how I'd make it through the hour! Also, the instructors make a difference too. The instructors here are motivating and energetic, but also caring and I feel like they really try to help you perfect your form. The more classes I attend, the better I feel. The only drawbacks about this place is that sometimes the classes are way too packed, especially on the weekends. Also, I really wish that it was priced around $120-$150/month for unlimited packages, because I would probably go a lot more often...for now my $165/10 pack for early/late sessions will work for me! read more
