Great mix of classes that you can do everyday. Coaches are great and the exercises challenge you.

Back in February I decided to make my health a priority after gaining 25lbs by searching for a…read morequality trainer that would help me lose the weight. I honestly didn't want a generic, cookie cutter, so called trainer that you find at most fitness gyms, so I started my search on yelp. After doing my research, I was surprised there weren't many trainers on island. Some trainers were overpriced, others had small gyms, or they weren't willing to work with your schedule. There was only a few that caught my interest but no one stood out like Reno. Or let me say, Reno was the only one that was personal, spoke to me over the phone and invited me to check out his gym. After I met Reno, I noticed that he really cares about his clients. He's the the type of trainer that will motivate you to push without injuring yourself. He's the type to notice and modify your movement to prevent prevent injury that you make have not disclosed because you wanted to feel capable. Reno really helps you view success, strength and fitness differently. Overall his work out regimens for each class are fresh and creative, having you feel like a warrior that conquered the battle. Going to R Fit has brought me so much joy and has been the best investment for my health. Not only am I reaching my goals, healthier, stronger, and fit but I have a new Ohana. So my advice is, nobody is too busy, it's just a matter of priorities. Let R Fit be your priority.

I've been to many gyms/circuit training places and have had trainers in the past, but I can…read morehonestly say that Reno is the most supportive and dedicated trainer that I've ever had! Client retention is something that most gyms lack because they are more focused on "quantity over quality"; RFit on the other hand is very different from the pack. Reno is so dedicated to his clients! He is so personable and exudes such positivity which are key skills that many gyms fail to do. My husband and I have been going to Reno for 3 years now and plan to continue on as long as he's around. We value his skills as a trainer and most of all, the friendship that we've gained along the way! His gym has all the tools that are needed for clients to meet their goals; whether it's weight loss, improving your mobility or strengthening your core... RFit is the place to go! The biggest thing that I value as a plus size gal, is that RFit is truly a facility to WORKOUT at. It's not a meat market where you feel the need to wear makeup and dress up to look good for others. The group classes are awesome and full of positivity; they will challenge anyone no matter what your physical status is - plus size, skinny, muscular... You will feel the burn! There are bathrooms equipped with showers and toilets, locker space, free parking and Reno keeps the overall space super nice and clean. There are personal sessions which I valued because Reno can assess your fitness level during the one on one and cater your workouts accordingly. RFit also offers group classes which I grew to love because you get to meet like minded people who are also focused on reaching their goals. Overall, I can't stress enough how great this place is and really, you have to check it out for yourself! Please take the time to come on down and try it out for a month at the least; I promise that you'll be coming back for more. If you want a dedicated, nice, cool, super funny and skilled trainer; Reno is your man!

Coach Justin had been training me for the past half year and I've seen results! Working out with other women creates a safe and positive environment. We all cheer each other on here. Your first class is free if you DM or email coach Justin. I tried a class for free on a whim thinking there's no way I'm going to drive to town regularly just for a workout. I loved the first class so much that I went once a week for the first month (June). I decided to upgrade to twice a month in July, and saw really good gains in my strength, so for August I'm trying 3 classes a month! There are various classes and schedule times available. Membership packages come in monthly packs of 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, or 24 classes. I'm glad I joined right before the prices went up a bit. The prices are still very reasonable, especially since I was once an Orange Theory member $$$. I stopped going to 24 hour fitness over a year ago because of covid, and it's so packed in there all the time that it would give me anxiety even pre-pandemic. I love that all of the classes are women only (I've only taken one class where one guy showed up other than coach Justin). The only coed class is technically the Biceps and Curls class. I'm excited for more classes to be added on. Classes are generally limited to 8-10 people, with some classes being more full than others. My favorite classes are the Booty Camp and Booty Building classes. They will be moving in a few months to a bigger location. My dream is for there to be a Kapolei location so my lazy self doesn't have to drive to town anymore. They do follow Covid protocols and masks are worn during class with hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes available. Bring a towel!

Walked in to Ikaika Fitness, the third gym on my list and met Alan, the owner ... and well know Hawaii Professional Body Builder. Looked around a found pretty much everything in the way of equipment I could imagine, and equipment that defied my limited skill set to understand. Signed on for a day pass to get the feel ... and quickly felt the Aloha; from the owner; from the Trainers; and from the other members. Found my "fave"treadmill, whom I now (6 months later) visit daily ... and got all the other machines figured out (through watching others, or asking questions.). Every one is friendly if approached ... but give you space, and don't criticize unless asked. Trainers are low key, and not pushy ... struck up conversations, and gently found the right fit. Ikaika Fitness is my new home; where my day begins ... I've lost weight, improved my shape, health and attitude. I've heard a good gym is the closest thing to the "fountain of youth" and I'm sure this is one such fountain. This 73' year old is getting younger every day.

Pros: It's spacious, everybody is serious at this gym (no chit chatting/on their phone just sitting at the machine), parking is always readily available, they have a WOMEN'S SECTION (this is a huge plus for me!! Ladies, you'll love this section! No boys allowed!), lots of machines and free weights, music is always bumpin' with good music, lots of disinfecting stations. Although they are not opened 24 hours right now due to COVID, this place is great and I don't have to wait for any machines or weights. I can't wait till the classes open up so I could try it, too. Cons: They need to clean...and I mean clean the dusts on the walls and floors. This is minor and could be resolved quickly but it makes me wonder how often they clean when I see the same dust piles week after week in the same area. The women's restroom smells ALL the time. Not sure if there's a plumbing issue but I gag every time I go into the locker room. There's no WIFI... I was surprised they had no WIFI. Otherwise, great gym!
