This is not your mother's yoga. This is an alternative experience that takes yoga to a whole new level. I walked in looking for some basic yoga to stretch my body. What I discovered were techniques that really bring the brain and body together. The exercises focus on not only stretching your body, but creating balance and physical strength. And through these exercises you can definitely achieve major stress reduction and a level of inner peace. The center offers a number of workshops for expanding personal growth. There are also workshops around the country for those who are interested. But most interesting for me has been a bond I have formed with the other members who attend. It's a close nit group who are supportive and really care about each other. All the instructors are sensitive to individual needs and are extremely professional. The center manager is a unique individual who touches base with all his students to ensure they are doing ok and always there to listen to your questions and concerns. The classes can be intense, but they are also fun. We have the opportunity to do classes at Matheson Hammock early in the morning on occasion and it's a magnificent experience. Like anything, what you put in is what you get out. There is great opportunity for both physical and emotional healing in a very safe space. And they serve delicious healing tea at the end of every class. And that alone is worth it. read more

First off- Body and Brain classes are clear, simple yet powerful! Alex has done an amazing job of maintaining and even upscaling the quality and caliber that is Body and Brain! He has such great sense of humor too aside from his very caring nature. All the instructors are really passionate about what they do here. I was visiting in Miami for the weekend and wanted to continue with my yoga practice. Came to the Body and Brain Yoga and Tai Chi in Pinecrest. What a hidden gem this place is!!! Sunday I took the 10:00am Tai Chi class with Instructor Master Kris / Alex and came out rejuvenated and full of energy to enjoy the rest of the day! I normally don't sweat and I certainly didn't expect to sweat during a Tai Chi class but, that is exactly what happened to me this time!!! Such a great release!!! I have decided to make this specific yoga my daily practice. I have always enjoyed yoga. I loved how it made me feel comfortable in my own skin and made my daily stressors easier to deal with.
