Issa, at Khoury's said that the Dazzling Bistro Food Truck comes by a couple times a month. Good to know cause I'd really like to try more like the Gumbo & Rice bowls I read about. My friend & I first grabbed a six-pack of Franziskaner Hefeweizen which paired well w/ Chef Darrell's creations. Our order was slightly mixed up, but no problem, Chef brought us an Old Bay seasoned, Spicy Shrimp Taco. It said w/ Blue Chips, but it came w/ a salad & all three items we got were on a Hoagie Roll. It worked well as a sandwich, instead of a taco too. We took off one bun from each order & then could really taste the elements of each sandwich. I loved this spicy shrimp & slaw creation! It had a nice kick of Sriracha & garlic aioli which I love! The Thai Style Beef Satay Tri-Tip was a strip of Beef Satay On a Hoagie topped w/ a nice sweet cucumber, carrot salad. I really liked the sweet sauce on top of it & it would also be great as a salad! My fav was the Smoked Pork Belly Banh Mi On a Hoagie, topped w/ coleslaw & pickled onions & cilantro! I should've taken one to-go so will have to hope that it's on the menu next time. If not, I am very excited to try what is on the menu next time this Dazzling Bistro Food Truck is at Khoury's. Thank you Chef. I love spicy, it was a wonderful experience & very tasty creations.

If you want to work with Dazzling Bistro, please be aware the pricing model is strictly cost plus. Chef Darnell does NOT work with a set budget. In our first call, I communicated our budget. We discussed some menu options, and he sent me a proposal that came in $13.8 per per person over my budget. When I reached out asking if there's a way to modify the menu to fit my budget, he wrote back to explain he'd already spent 5 hours on this and to go find another caterer. I can't speak for the food since we didn't work together. I was taken aback by the interaction as I wasn't trying to waste his time, nor was I trying to nickel and dime him. I communicated our dietary restrictions up front and I communicated our budget. My only feedback was to ask for a proposal to fit my budget. I'm sharing this review and my experience so others have the right expectation if you decide to reach out.

I can't remember having better quesabirria tacos…read more Birria Bros is a food truck that turned into a brick and mortar in a rather nondescript plaza on Sunset and Sandhill. I remember visiting a taqueria years ago in the vicinity, so maybe there's a niche there that needed filling. But you're gonna want to drive across town for these if they're as good as what I had. I was finally drawn in to try them after I learned about their special valid only this month, 10 quesabirria tacos for $33. I brought my friend to share them, and conveniently enough, they came divided evenly into takeout boxes of five each. We did eat the tacos fresh though, and they were excellent. The beefy flavor really shined in this birria. We did not get extra consomme, but there wasn't any need since the meat was nicely seasoned and juicy, kinda like a dipped Italian beef. The melted cheese added a nice texture, the red onion and cilantro were fresh, and the corn tortillas were nicely crisped up. The wedges of lime added a great vibrancy, while the two salsas were also useful if you can handle the heat. I didn't even bother trying the red hot one since the smoky, "mild" salsa was a bit of a test for me (maybe a 3 on a scale of 10). The apparently Mexican music was lively and not too loud. The dining area is small, but no other customers were actually there for whatever reason until we had finished. Parking was a bit tough since it was Sunday and a church is located nearby. Birria Bros is at the top of my list for future birria cravings. I'll have to come back on Taco Tuesday (buy 2, get 1 free) or maybe venture into something like their birria ramen, which is described as using fresh Japanese noodles.

Double corn tortillas and full of great flavored pork. The asada is one tortilla and is also good but I find my tortilla always falls apart. The quesabirria tacos are also very hot and tasty. If you go in Tuesday expect a wait because they are usually packed. I need to try a few other menu items because I've liked their meats. They have a salsa bar which has various salsas, cucumbers, radish, carrots, pickled onions, and jalapeños. They keep it clean. The staff has always been friendly and so a great job.

Super long waits for food, missing ingredients, things not tasting as good as they used to. Today, my husband went in to order a breakfast burrito. He asked for a breakfast burrito with extra cheese and ham. The cashier asked "so no potatoes and no eggs?" to which he corrected and said "I just want a regular breakfast burrito with ham and add extra cheese." The regular breakfast burrito comes with potatoes, eggs, meat of your choice, beans, pico de gallo, and cheese. So all he was doing is telling her his choice of meat was ham and to add extra cheese. What he got was basically a quesadilla...nothing but cheese, ham, pico and a few beans. By the time we got where were we were going and bit into it it was way too late for us to go back. I look at the receipt shoved in the bag and sure enough it was typed in No eggs, no potatoes...so not the kitchen's fault since they're following instructions from the cashier. Sadly, it seems if we decide to go to this location we either have to ask the cashier to show us her screen so we can make sure it's typed in right, eat in store so we can bring incorrect food immediately to the front or disassemble our entire order to check and make sure the person taking it paid attention. It's getting to a point where it's just not worth the hassle especially with all the other options in the area. I hope they turn things around as they genuinely used to make the best food.

There was also a row of local vendor booths that offered goods for sale, as well as informational booths. Most of the food trucks offered reasonable and affordable prices, but a handful of them had absolutely crazy prices. One food truck was serving pasta and wanted an astounding $22-$23 for one bowl of pasta, we quickly skipped past that booth along with everyone else who saw their incredibly high prices. There was a stage with live music, and the band was absolutely fantastic. But that wasn't the only entertainment this event had to offer... Surprisingly, they even had live wrestling... it was very entertaining. My 11yo son sat with his mouth opened the whole show... he didn't know what to think. But we all highly enjoyed it. On the other side of the event area, there was a carnival with rides, games, and a fun house. It was a lot of fun watching the riders laughing and screaming their heads off on the thrill rides. Everyone we came across was friendly, helpful, and just seemed happy to be there. We brought our puppy with us, and he had a great time too. He even made himself a few new puppy friends. I highly recommend this event. We will definitely come back again next year.
