I loaded up with chicken fajita meat, grilled veggies( not traditional bell peppers and onions but sweet potatoes, zucchini & potatoes) pico, guacamole, red onions, cilantro, black beans, cilantro rice, cheese & two salsas with a third on the side. I chose the cilantro Serrano, salsa roja & mango habanero which is really sweet and almost like Asian sweet chili sauce. It is enough for 2 people honestly neither of us could eat more than half! I've been here a dozen or more times since the first review so I think I should give them their flowers. Now that I'm more familiar with their menu, their food and prices are actually pretty good. I've been mixing it up but lately I've been getting the taco shell bowl and essentially filling it up with the good stuff I like. You can get just the salad without a shell too but the shell is more fun. Their fish tacos are also really good. My friend recommended me to Bodegas Taco Shop because it's near the zoo. I think it was fairly good to eat here as many elites gave 4 stars or above. Considering we came before the lunch rush hour. We were lucky to find parking right in front of the restaurant. Well, I had to pay at zone 47744. The restaurant was pretty clean at that time. But the cashier was throwing ice cubes at the line workers. They exchanged words in Spanish. Ah, so playful. Food came out and I didn't pay attention to see when we got our taco plates . But the beans and rice were in tiny portions like in sauce cups. I guess the portion was okay. The beans were soupy, fork can't get everything from the cup. So, I chugged down into my mouth. I was introduced to this location by a bike group and this is often their pit stop. I had a chance this week to stop by again and I always order the Chicken Enchilada plate. This time I tried the Cadillac Margarita with a top shelf tequila of your choice. Parking is not great, but they do have a parking garage. I recommend parking on the street. When Javier took our order, he was mumbling and looking down, plus it was already loud, which made it difficult to hear him clearly. I misunderstood what he said, and instead of simply clarifying the order, the staff made jokes at my expense while I'm ordering. They assumed we couldn't understand Spanish. A fair assumption in some situations, but they were mistaken. Probably shouldn't do that in a place of business. We waited until we finished eating before saying anything because we didn't want it to affect our meal. I ordered at the counter and went with build my own nachos with rotisserie chicken. First up is rice and there are two options: spanish rice and a green rice. I opted for half and half, no beans, chicken, cheese sauce, pico de gallo, corn, chopped onions, cilantro, and pickled jalapenos. There were also options for lettuce, cheese, and sour cream. This is a great place! It is super convenient to go after going to the museum, or from the medical center. It is designed similarly to a Mo's or a Chipotle, but it has so many different flavors. I got the build your own bowl with ground beef and cilantro lime rice and black beans. I added some delicious pico, lettuce, and some of the creamy cilantro spicy salsa. I then added some tomatillo salsa as well (I am a salsa aficionado, what can I say). The salsa was all delicious, and very fresh. They have probably about 15 different salsa options, too, which is fun. I am dying to try them all! My husband got a bowl as well in the tortilla, and it was also delicious. We also got a frozen margarita pitcher, which was great! It has lots of flavor and is affordable. This would be a great place to come back with a group! In fact, there were lots of groups there. The ambiance is pretty casual and social with a little bar, and lots of medical professionals and friends there. It is decorated in an eclectic, fun way that has a lot of personality. The size of these mega nachos would definitely feed 3-4 people, not the 2 that it claims. Also, the way they have things priced was confusing, because it says that you can build your own nachos for 12.95 for brisket, but I also got charged $9 for nachos as well. When went in it was semi busy about 12ish lunch time. by the time I got my food it was busy. The did get my order wrong but it was a good wrong if that makes any sense.
