Eggs Benedict and Tofu Scramble & Waffles
    Jeslyn X.

I was rather enamored with the quirky charm of its unconventional location than the restaurant itself. Sitting in an offbeat, angular house at a street corner, it's a bold move to turn this space into a dining hotspot. Stepping inside feels like entering a quaint, miniature botanical garden. Visited for weekend brunch and ordered the Eggs Benedict and Tofu Scramble & Waffles. The Eggs Benedict, served on a croissant, were quite tasty. The Tofu Scramble was intriguing, with its curry-infused tofu, though the chickpea waffle was a bit oily, but I guess that's not unusual with vegan food. The service was so-so; the staff didn't seem to care our table much. Their kitchen is downstairs by the washroom, so you could see the cooking staff when heading to the restroom. I can't quite describe it, but it gave me a somewhat depressed feeling when I saw the kitchen. Food (quality, creativity, consistency) - 3.5/5 Drinks (quality, variety) - 3/5 Ambience (interior design, cleanliness) - 4/5 Service (courtesy, knowledge, timeliness) - 2.5/5 Value (quality vs. price) - 3/5 OVERALL - 3.2

A great hole in the wall place with really neat decor and the food is delicious. It's a good idea to place a reservation if you're going for weekend brunch.

Came for Saturday brunch!!! I always enjoy my brunch dates here. It's a small place, cozy and the staff are super friendly. The food is always good. Good portion for myself. Definitely would come back again, post gym meal!

3.5 stars Located on Gerrard St E, this unassuming place is lovely- especially the back patio! Plenty of seating in the back patio makes this a good option for groups. The beautiful lights, the greenery just makes you want to sit back and enjoy your meal. I wish I took a picture but I was just enjoying the space. I opted for the eggs with salmon, potatoes and arugula salad. It was a pretty standard fare, the potatoes crispy and the eggs done as I requested (hard...sorry I just hate runny eggs lol). As I scoped the other tables quite brazenly, it was clear they have healthy sized portions here. The service we had was great - friendly and accommodating with our questions. I did take a quick peek inside the restaurant (which is a converted house) and it seems like a nice place to have intimate conversations over coffee. Free street parking in the side streets.

Very cute corner house converted to a neighbourhood eatery. Service was impeccable, and personable. Coffee was top notch. Food was served fast, and was absolutely delicious. Ample portions, come hungry. I will definitely be back.

A bit disappointing. While there's nothing wrong with Bodega, I guess I was expecting way more given all the rave reviews. We went for brunch and got: - Savoury French Toast: Serving size was huge, albeit a bit pricey. The French toast was just a bit overly chewy. The blueberry compote was generous. The bacon was the best thing - definitely crispylicious! But the expected star of the dish, the pork belly, was more fat than lean so was a bit of a letdown for me. - Egg Benedict with Salmon: They used croissant as the base, which didn't hold the salmon and egg firmly enough. Nothing wrong with the overall taste, just nothing different. Service was quick and efficient. Space was casual. Overall, it was ok. Might just be a personal taste thing because again, nothing wrong with Bodega, it just wasn't wow.

Cute little whimsical cafe!! A tiny shop with 5-6 dine in tables, painted turquoise blue and decorated with LOTS of vibrant green plants! So quaint and homey. Wish I came here for brunch to try their croissants and other baked goods. Got the chicken and waffles and polenta fries. Super filing, great sauce, plated on floral china. I like how unique and small their set up is. Their washroom sink is teeny tiny too

You can get a walk-in seating but highly recommend making a reservation. Been here a few times and the food does not disappoint! Breakfast or dinner, both are very tasty. Small menu, but everything is amazing and tasty.

Amazing hidden little gem. Make sure you make reservations beforehand as it's a very small place. So there is far and few seatings. Good is good and the interior is interesting. Coffee is mediocre as I've had better from around the area. Coffee was slightly diluted. It's a small and packed area, a great place for brunch.

I've been meaning to come here for a while, and I'm so glad that I finally did! I walked in on a Wednesday morning without a reservation and they were able to seat me within 5 minutes. The two staff members I interacted with were lovely. I got the savory french toast with fingerlings on the side...I cannot even explain how delicious it was. I don't know how I'm going to try anything else on the menu since I loved this dish SO much. The crispy bacon and pork belly was cooked beautifully, and it wasn't overly sweet in my opinion. Probably the best french toast I've had in the city. The only thing I'll say is that I felt quite rushed at the end of my meal. I was dining alone and still sipping my coffee when the server brought the bill. I realize that many restaurants have seating limits now, but I had only been there for about an hour at that point. Regardless, I'm looking forward to going back for that amazing french toast and the crispy potatoes.

Pretty good brunch food! There's not too many tables so try to get a reservation before showing up. We went on a Thursday at 1230 and were lucky to get a table for 2. Got the chicken Sammy and the bodega burger. Both very good and all the ingredients worked well together. One thing that would be great is making the meat a bit bigger. The bread in the chicken Sammy was so soft and delicious! The side of potatoes was really crispy and delicious, wished they gave more! You're looking at spending between $15-20 a meal. Great service and vibe. You can park on the street by the neighbourhood.

Maybe it…read morewas how the sun was hitting the restaurant on our July visit, but even with all the umbrellas up there wasn't an ounce of shade. Not wanting to roast, we safely seconded ourselves inside. Here I was greeted with a chill bar environment with tables so crammed together that it'd be a Tetris feat to get yourself into a chair if someone was sitting behind you. Luckily, it wasn't busy on a Friday afternoon, so I jimmied myself into a highchair and settled down with a Gin Lizzy ($15). It's a good first drink since it essentially tastes like a sparkling berry lemonade. The rhubarb reduction and lime make it go down so easy that you must remind yourself it's not juice given it contains gin and prosecco. Personally, even with a refreshing cocktail, I like them tasting stiffer. The El Diablo ($15) hit the spot as the tequila was pronounced but mellowed with black berry concentrate and lime. The ginger beer helped to add a twinge of spiciness and bubbles. This was a favourite amongst our table. A couple of nibbles tied us over until dinner. The queso & chips ($12) arrived with plenty of warm crispy tortillas that were seasoned making them nice to munch on solo or with a sprinkling of finely diced pico de gallo. The queso was a great consistency coating the chip without being too thick and was perfectly seasoned so that it was flavourful without being overly salty. The wild zero wings ($16 for a lb) were hot and juicy, tossed in an apricot glaze that gave the wings a sweet and savoury element, sort of like a Thai sauce but not quite as syrupy. And if they weren't saucy enough, a generous portion of creamy dill arrives as well. Poor Romeo is a great place for a quick drink with nibbles or a casual date. And if you're in the area for an after-meal tipple, their version of an espresso martini is the Night Flight ($16). It certainly tasted of coffee, from a coffee reduction and Jägermeister cold brew, but mellowed out with vodka and a bit of creaminess from the Tia Maria.

Got it, I lowered my expectations and found both drinkable but diluted the margarita to combat its excessive sugariness. If anything, their menu was the perfect hearty base before a night of drinking. Having shared two of their sandwiches, the smashed burger ($21) was a hit. The potato bun was topped with two generous sized beef patties that are a little thick for a smashed burger but still had a nice crust. I liked that there was plenty of fixings including lettuce, tomato, cheese, caramelized onion, pickles, and a house sauce to give it interest. This was a tasty burger. Meanwhile, the potato bun disintegrated with the Korean fried chicken sando ($21) making it difficult to eat. Still, the chicken breast was hot and juicy with plenty of breading to give it a crunchy bite. But despite the liberal smear of gochujang mayo, it wasn't overly spicy and needed more heat. Adding some lettuce with the pickles may also help create a barrier between the bun and sauce to ensure the bread can hold up better. Maybe Rorschach's supplier gave them a bushel of the tiny potatoes, but their fries were cut so small... it's like eating Hickory sticks in fry form. You'd think a smaller fry means more crispy edges, but we just found they were really dried out. Rorschach Brewing Co's dining room is surprisingly spacious with picnic tables scattered throughout to accommodate varying sized tables. They were understaffed for a Friday, but the two servers did their best and made sure our large table was served and out in time for the concert. Perhaps they even breathed a sigh of relief once we vacated. So long loud ladies, we can go back to swigging beers.
