We took the DART from Dublin to spend a day in Howth and found Bodega Coffee in the small area just off the train. My husband got a hot chocolate and I got an espresso shot called a Cortado. Both our drinks were great and the staff were super friendly. The shop is super small with just a few tables but a large outdoor area with tables that is shared with neighboring businesses. I would've loved to sit and enjoy the place, but there was no room so we took our coffees to go.

Chai Latte

A must visit while in Howth! Their chai latte was truly the best I've ever had! It's a must order! We also picked up a cookie cup which was delicious and a cinnamon sugar roll which was yummy. Its a great place to stop and pick up drinks or a quick snack before going on the Cliff Walk. They have a few seats inside, but there is plenty of seating outside at the market and on a Friday morning there were tons of open seats. Highly recommend!

Chai tea latte with almond milk and sprinkled in cinnamon

Popped in here for a cup of coffee with my mom and cousin and was pleasantly surprised.....this is the best chai latte with almond milk that I've ever had. He sprinkled cinnamon on top and it's to die for. The music is fun, the doors are open and it's the perfect weather. Couldn't have asked for a better coffee experience. Highly recommend!!!!

Fantastic service, warm folks. Coffee is perfectly brewed. Best coffee I've had in Ireland yet.

Popped in here for a quick (and excellent) espresso while on a day out in Howth. Great staff, decor and coffee. Would recommend.

Howth is a haven of cafes & restaurants. We stopped by East Cafe Bar for the relaxed atmosphere…read more We ordered drinks (Guinness - good, Prosecco - completely flat) and the seafood chowder, crab claws, oysters Rockefeller, and house chips. The seafood chowder was thick and creamy, with a wonderful flavor but not a lot of actual seafood in the bowl. The oysters Rockefeller were abysmal -- not an ounce of moisture or much flavor, with what I can only assume to be oyster dried up in a shell of sandy crumbs. Crab claws were tasty and meaty but a bit overcooked. I find it perplexing that a cafe attached to a well-established seafood restaurant didn't actually have any utensil for seafood except regular forks. We asked for a seafood cracker for the large crab claws, and were told they didn't have any. We were offered lobster picks but they never arrived. The home chips we ordered also never arrived, but we had waited so long (40 mins) for the food at that stage that we didn't bother asking for them. Overall, the service was lacking. We, along with two other parties, were standing around for about 10 mins (sign said wait to be seated), with multiple staff walking by us. Eventually, we grabbed someone and asked to be seated at the counter opposite of the bar which was completely empty. When we asked about the delay with the food, no one bothered getting back to us and we had to ask for updates. I love the relaxed ambience, but the service and food left a lot to be desired. For the price, there are much better options in the area.

Sitting outside overlooking the pier is really an idolic location. I had the crab claws which we out of this world, the prawns which we amazing fresh Dublin Bay prawns and the burger which was also really good. I had a pack of kids with me and they were very accommodating and the kids fish and chips was perfect. The service was great - for a small place they seemed to have tons of staff who were really quick and efficient and also friendly. The prices aren't bad - certainly not cheap but for such amazing food you certainly get what you pay for.
