Love the coffee here... It's a fantastic place to grab a really great barista made coffee, the flat whites are truly great! They also have pre-made sandwiches available for sale and from the counter, plenty of sweet treats and pastry delights, if you fancy. The cafe itself, does have seating however for me it's not as warm/cosy as it could be... I tend to always have the coffee to go, it doesn't lure me in to stay for awhile which is a shame; we're in Ireland and yet, of all the coffee houses which serve high standard coffee, very few have an inviting warmly cafe space which you would sit, catch up on your book, read the newspaper, etc.

Joe's is a solid cup coffee, a latte will set you back €3 and the staff is always friendly, quick and efficient. They sell a variety of juices, smoothies and Paleo friendly sandwiches, and they have a minimal selection of sweets and protein balls and the like. It's good for a grab and go coffee, but the other day I met a friend and discovered the upstairs. What an adorable space - it's cute and spacious with a ton of natural light and a shabby chic 50s dining room style decor. This I loved, you would never know it existed from the street. If you're in and around Camden Street, I'd say Joe's is the best local coffee option. A very belated "welcome to the neighbourhood!"

With just a few small tables and chairs outside, the standing room only interior is a picture of economy. These were my first impressions as customers steadily streamed inside to place orders and then leave to wait for their sandwich or sit a bit. My eyes locked into the pastrami melt sandwich on the menu and I waited my turn, albeit a bit nervously, to place my order with one of the three gents who were slinging the sandwiches. All the ingredients in the deli case looked fresh, from the lettuce, meats, cheese, etc, to the types of bead on top of the case, like the focaccia. Each sandwich is made fresh, and once assembled, is pressed to warm the roll and melt the cheese. My pastrami melt arrived loaded with the meat, and all the ingredients enhanced by the deli mustard made for a great tasting sandwich. It's probably the best pastrami sandwich I've tasted in a long while. Every employee was patient and helpful, and I found this to be quite an effort since customers kept placing orders without much of a break. The Pig & Heifer is definitely worth a repeat visit.

If you're dining in, you order at the counter and get a table number to place wherever you decide to sit. There's plenty of seating inside which is a plus. What I got: -Potato danish- savory; slight salty, crispy flakey layers. -Sausage roll- slightly salty for my preference, but has a very crispy crust and a meaty sausage in the middle. We went back a second time on our trip and got a few more pastries, all of which were very delicious. The pastries were hot, flakey, glistening, delicate, and perfectly sweet on both visits. I would definitely come back if I were to visit Dublin again.

I didn't wait more than 5/10 minutes. I grabbed a couple of different things for us to try -- the focaccia, morning bun, salted caramel roll, and the cinnamon roll. My favorite was easily the focaccia, which could compete with the best I had in Italy -- so good. The morning bun was good, but nothing crazy exciting. The salted caramel roll had to be the least caramel-y caramel roll I've ever had, but it didn't taste bad and the salted part was interesting (in a good way!). The Cinnamon roll was unique, which I appreciate. It had a big glob of cream cheese frosting (too much for me, but I imagine it would float a lot of folks' boats) and some orange flavoring! I quite liked the orange. I wanted to get a matcha to go, but they said they didn't have disposable cups. You could buy a 5 euro reusable one and then if you brought it back you'd get a refund... interesting, but I was leaving that day and wouldn't be back in the area. I can't speak to the ambiance because we were in and out, but it looked like they had a decent amount of space. All in all, I would recommend this place! For me it was a 4, but I'm sure for some it would bop up to a 5.

Outside was as mess, there were no chairs at some tables and other had to many with dirty dishes on them. So we decided to go in. There was no hostess nor any wait staff so we stood there like stooges. Finally ,two of the wait staff walked right by and just ignored us so we decided to take a seat. Now they want to come talk to us! I asked if this seat was ok and got the reply "I guess it will have to be as you already sat down". Should have got up then but the wife was tired so decided to stay. It was crazy warm in there with little air flow. I liked the atmosphere and ambience. Guess they wanted to make a point as we sat there for 15 mins without water or anybody coming by. Had to flag down what appeared to be a bus boy to get water. Finally had order taken by male bus boy who seemed he wanted to be anywhere else and said "I am waiting". We ordered two "specials" and the bœuf bourguignon. Two separate couples came in and were served before we received our food. So hard to eat as it was 80-85 degrees in there. The beef was good and would recommend. The two specials were chicken and very very dry. To wrap it up we had to hunt down the wait staff to get the ticket as they actively avoided eye contact. Fairly expensive for just ok food and horrible service. Customer service is not hard. A "Welcome" or "Glad you came in" goes a long way.
