I've enjoyed my visits to all of the Bear Market locations I've been to so far, but this one had especially cute seating I think, in an enclosed little patio in the back with a tall stools and beautiful wooden tables in a vaguely industrial style. Probably one of best specialty coffee places in dublin but probably not a great place fir matcha. I was craving matcha and i had it with oat milk bcause they don't do soya, it tasted like OAT with a hint of matcha. I didnt enjoy it at all but my friend loved her mocha. So maybe great for coffee only. Also, they serve you your drink in a keep cup which is really great to promote sustainability and less disposable cups. read more

My favourite coffee spot in Dublin! Creamy lattes in a gorgeous cup that I never want to throw out. They have a coffee grinder at the back so you can grind any coffee beans you buy to your own taste. I haven't tried any of the food but it looks good and it's worth coming for the coffee alone! A good location for a nice walk by the sea with your coffee too. read more

The layout of the cafe/store is really cool, there are shelves with nice little bars and snack and a few other unusual items. Amazing coffee! I visit here at least once a week - usually the Saturday or Sunday morning coffee run/fix! This little coffee shop in Blackrock is up there with there with the big players like 3fe, Joe's etc. The coffee is consistently good which is exactly what you want from your coffee shop. Staff are knowledgeable and always friendly... They have a nice selection of sambos, soups and breads on offer too. (I find the banana bread a little dry, but thats just my personal preference). As with most Professional Barista Coffee Shops you can purchase the beans they uses and any coffee making accessories you might need to prefect the perfect cup at home! The Highs: * Very trendy spot. Great use of space by the architect owners. * I especially love the railings that double as shelving support. * 25% off coffee & tea check in offer. * Great selection of treats. * Fantastic staff, very friendly and non-pretentious. * Great wi-fi. * Great selection of coffee & food hampers for Christmas. * Good pricing for an americano by an independent coffee shop in Dublin. €2.50 verus €3.00 in 3FE. The Lows: * Too much water in the americano, the taste of the coffee is lost. Such a pity as that should be the number one perfect feature of an independent coffee shop. So in many ways the €2.50 point of sale is now not a highlight... * Would love a coffee mug option instead of a paper cup. * Maybe the staff should know about the check-in offer so that they are not left on the hop. Overall: The 'lows' are very fixable and the 'highs' far outweigh them however at the risk of sounding like a stuck record, if I am to pay 20-30 cent more for a coffee versus a chain coffee than I do expect it to be tasty. read more

Really great cafe, the place looks fantastic has steel re-bar decorating the whole lenght of the wall which sounds odd but looks great an ready trendy. the staff were all lovely, from listening to the Barista's idle chat with one of the girls that worked there i could pick up that he really knew what he was talking about. coffee really was good and the place is full of coffee toys and gadgets,would be great if one opened in the city center I really think they would be missing a trick if they dont. only negative thing o would say i that there is not alot of space to sit in and have a coffee and all the seats are at high counters (not so comfy) although it looks like they have done the best they can with the space they have. read more

Beautiful, if small, place in Blackrock. An absolut gem that is worth the trip from Dublin city centre (bus 7 will do the trick). Coffee is superb, sweets are amazing and the whole look and feel of the place is great. Would love to have one of these Bears in O'Connell St! This cafe is always many customers. I ordered flat white and almond croissant. The flat white was good taste, and almond croissant was very good taste! Today I tried the matcha latte with almond milk, and it's safe to say I have found a new go-to drink. Staff are incredibly sound and good craic - shout out to Oddette and Ben with the slick tattoos for keeping me company on a very hungover afternoon. Forget the various chains on Blackrock Main Street, if you want a good cup of coffee then this is the place to go. And going by the various teas they have around, probably the place for a cup of tea too. Mainly a take away place, but there are a few seats available. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, the coffee is delicious and there are a range of sweet things (which I think are all gluten free, maybe from the Pure bakery?) along with soup and sambos for a bit of lunch. They also sell a decent selection of beans, including the house blend and variety of single origin beans. They have a variety of coffee paraphernalia on sale from filters and drips to presses and a range of Irish produced food. My only complaint is that all the cups are paper, even if you sit in. read more

My grandfather passed away recently. He always brought me sailing on his yacht in Clew Bay whenever I was down there, he made every attempt to spend as much time with me as possible. I didn't know that he had cancer and was slowing dying, as he refused treatment. I didnt even know until I saw his in the hospital, lying in a bed with wires and bags hooked up to him. He looked so decrepit, so tired, his bones about to pierce through his skin because of how bare he was. I cried immediately upon seeing him this way, he had always been a superhero to me; invincible, untouchable. I couldn't control myself at the sight of him, and when he saw me cry he tried to get up to hug me; he forgot his condition and tried to help me in his last hours, not himself. "Rory don't look so ugly, be brave for me". I couldnt control the sobbing. "Sit with me. I'll be going soon" he said, "sit for a while. Now Rory, don't be sad, it was an eventuality waiting to happen. Just be glad that I've enjoyed my life and I'm ready. There one more thing I need to tell you though, and you must remember this. It will be the most inportant piece of advice I will ever give you". And with his dying breath, my grandfather said.... "Bear Market sucks dick". 5/5 would go there again. read more

I was hesitant to enter this cafe at first 'cause it looks a bit like hipster paradise and I was worried it would have prices to match. But I was pleasantly surprised, not only do they have great, reasonably priced coffee but they have lots of yummy homemade treats. The staff are warm and welcoming too. read more

The only place on the street, and one of few even in Dublin that does REAL coffee. Fully trained baristas who know what they're doing. Very friendly, down to earth and obliging. The stores set up looks great, you feel good just being in the place. The selection of food, snacks and drink is great, unique and interesting. Homemade baked goods too. The old style jazz contributes to the chill atmosphere and is a lovely relief from the teen pop, chart music in most shops today. All these, and value for money make it a 5 star takeaway cafe. Easily the best option for coffee in Blackrock Village. Great first impression based on the attractive steel and wood interior design. Staff are friendly and some nice GF offerings too, especially the scones. Space inside is quite limited and sometimes the queue is long, but that's probably a testament to quality of the coffee and the good attitude of the staff. read more
