Loved kayaking on Bodega Bay! Great people and great fun. Amazing customer service. They couldn't have made it any easier or more convenient experience. Good prices. Thank you for a fun outing!!

The reviews we read spoke for themselves. We had a phenomenal experience kayaking back in August on our own after a thorough training and Q & A with Bob and his crew. They were welcoming, patient and kind which we appreciated! My 8 year old, who has never kayaked before, went in tandem with my husband while I went single. My husband and I were also beginners. Let me tell you that our time out on the water was so special because we saw tons of sea lions and other amazing creatures in the water! It was an experience that my son said he will never forget and said was his favorite thing he did along with fishing on our trip to Bodega Bay. Oh and check out the Surf Shop after! There is tons of cool stuff! Enjoy!

We rented kayaks here. The team was friendly, helpful and made the rentals super easy. They dropped off & picked up the kayaks right at the water side. The area where they had us kayak was absolutely stunning. We rowed up the Salmon Creek, saw a ton of wildlife, and very few people.

I'm just going to start by apologizing if I spelled any of the employees name wrong , but from beginning to end my family and I had a great experience! The young man at the surf shack starts with a P like pacson I can be wrong it was hard to hear with masks -__- I'm so sorry but he such a great multi-tasker , great customer service , and still self aware of how many people coming in and out of the store and wearing masks due to covid . So 5 starts for him , he's will definitely go far in any business/job ! We were walk ins and he made the process easy and quick , then we headed down to the water and met Annie she was so sweet and helpful , instructions super clear and we went off into the water had a great time. Weather was perfect! At the end we got lucky , and I believe the owner was there he was a gentleman and grabbed everything for us at the end of us finishing kayaking. For anyone visiting Bodega Bay definitely a place to stop and try out !

So this is the same spot to rent from as Bodega Bay Kayak - but leaving the review here! Oh my, we had such an amazing time. We got very lucky - sunshine, no wind, an incredible day. Bodega Bay Surf Shack (Bodega Bay Kayak) helped us have the best day possible! We checked in at the shack then met Bob at the bay where he had our kayak and dry bags ready. We saw seals, leopard sharks, sting rays and herons. Such amazing wildlife. I realize we were very lucky with weather, but Bob made our day happen! Easy rental process and such a lovely day.

Loved the whole experience. My boyfriend and I were visiting Bodega Bay for a couple of day and on Monday 8/23 we decided to go kayaking in the bay. Stopped by this kayak rental place and got there right as they were opening. The woman working there saw us and immediately greeted us and offered her help as she was opening up. We waited a few mins for her to get set up and then came in to the shop to sign up for our rentals. The process was quick and easy the directions she gave for us to go meet the other man with the kayaks were easy to understand. Once we got to the bay to meet the man with the kayaks he gave us our instructions and answered any questions we had. He was awesome as well and their service made the experience all that much better.

Cason taught Charlie how to surf yesterday and we had a great experience! He was the youngest in the group and Cason seemed to "get" that and give him age appropriate instruction and extra attention. It was rough out there and Charlie got a little "hammered" but still had fun! He can't wait to get out there again and improve upon his skills.

Can't say enough great things about our surf lesson through Bodega Bay Surf Shack! Bob was extraordinary kind and accommodating in scheduling my husband and 10 year olds' surf lesson. We had Nate as an instructor and he was absolute incredible. He was kind, patient and made the entire experience of my son's first time surfing a great memory. My son now wants a surfboard...needless to say he's hooked! Wish I could give more than 5 stars. Thanks Bob, Nate and everyone at Bodega Bay Surf Shack!

I really enjoyed the area as the highway winds along the beach with many spots to pull off and enjoy the beautiful views of the ocean. Salmon creek area is nice with a parking area with restrooms available as well. There are trails that go down to the beach which depending on which you choose can be quite steep. Take your time and be rewarded by the cool fresh air coming off the water onto the beach. We took our time to wander along the water, finding shells and cool rock formations from the constant exposure to the water. There's quite a bit of driftwood on the beach which it looks like some have made into forts/ seating areas all of which are unique. Portions to the north of Salmon Creek are rocky but you'll find cool views from around each bend along the shore. I enjoyed our time on the beach exploring and watching the waves crash, the various birds in the surf and on the shore. Definitely worth the drive and taking the time to stop and enjoy nature.

I went exploring around a large rock named Goat Rock. I did not see any of the hoofed ungulates on my visit. To the south of Goat Rock, the beach was a little narrowed with occasional pieces of rounded sea glass and intact mussel shells. I picked one of the shells up and noticed a faint violet color. It was one of those light phenomena where exposure to light drains the color from the shell, meaning the next day the faint violet color was gone. Parking was limited and I was fortunate to arrived before the masses. There were not any trees for shade on the beach, though the cool of the water on my feet did provide reprieve from the warmth for my feet.
