Had a great experience using this group for an Impromptu kayaking adventure! They run a smooth operation and gave us clear instructions. Would recommend and use again when back in the area.

Partnership Study Club came to conquer kayaking. Bob is the owner of Bodega Bay Kayaks. He was extremely helpful and professional. He made sure everyone was attended at all time which made the tour even that much better. Thanks again Bob, we looking forward seeing you again.

So great! Bob is wonderful and very communicative and accommodating. We had a windier day so he had us go to Salmon Creek instead and it was a wonderful, warm paddle and so beautiful! Bob is super knowledgeable and knew exactly the route we should take to avoid the wind and get the best views. Highly recommend renting with Bodega Bay Kayaks!

We rented a single and 2-person kayak for a couple of hours and thoroughly enjoyed this first-time experience.

Bob rocks. The kayaks were in great shape. The wildlife in the bay is amazing. If you go to Bodega Bay you should do this.

I ended up asking the owner for some advice on how to get started in the local waters. He was incredibly helpful- not only did he recommend a specific spoon spinner, but he even took the time to show me the best way to cast and retrieve it for the river. This place is definitely a local gem. Whether you're a regular or you're like me and somehow managed to leave your tackle box at home, it's a great spot to drop by. Great service and even better advice!

Kayaking the Russian River is something I've had on my to do list for years. This summer, with the…read moreriver still flowing nicely well in to July, I decided to finally make it a priority for a weekend adventure. In reading, Yelp and other reviews all signs indicated that King's was THE place. I had stopped in the shop during other trips to Guerneville to check out their outdoor clothing and accessories, so I was familiar with them. I had decided on what's labeled as their Trip #2 on the website which is a 5 mile kayak (self guided) from Johnson's Beach to Monte Rio. I called and reserved a tandem kayak about 4 days in advance and was given a few options of a start time. I choose 11 am since we were driving in from the East Bay and didn't want to leave home too early. They were super friendly and helpful when calling and made sure we understood the trip details and were booking the right package for our skills and needs. A credit card number is required to hold your reservation. We arrived closer to 10::30 and luckily found parking on the street right near the shop-I was worried about that on a summer Sunday but maybe getting there earlier helped. The girl who checked us in was super knowledgeable and made sure she showed us a map of our route, which includes a small section where you need to get out of your kayak and walk it about 200 yards around the dam to circumvent it and then launch back in. We were provided a dry bag, paddles, kayak and life vests. They have you walk a few blocks down to Johnson's Beach and they meet you there with the kayak. This year, after the 2023 rainy winter, the river was flowing nicely-we had a mostly smooth paddle down the river. For quite a while we had quite a bit of solitude and it was so peaceful and lovely with the river and redwoods. Things got a little busier towards Monte Rio beach and downright chaotic as we had to navigate hoards of people swimming with no situational awareness of our kayak and others coming through. It was a relief to get past it and get our kayak to the boat launch. You call Kings as you approach Monte Rio to schedule your pick up. They were there for us to shuttle us back to Guerneville within 5 minutes of us leaving the water. I had the most wonderful day out on the river. We saw lots of water birds and turtles and for the most part it was a very serene trip, Highly recommend Kings and would 100% use them again. They know the river well and gave us advice about certain areas and seem like they truly love what they do!

We went on the larger fishing boat, which was comfortable and gave our family privacy. Captain Rick and his deckhand were respectful and kind. The boat ride was calm since we went into the protected bay, and he turned the motor off while we scattered the ashes. He circled the area before heading back. My family thought it was appropriate for Dad and knew he would approve. We can visit Dad at a peaceful, beautiful place. We ate fresh fish & chips at Rick's restaurant, The Boathouse, the next day on our way back home. Thank you for a wonderful experience and a perfect sending off for Dad.

Rick answered all our questions even when we called to make sure everything would be ok. Even when we called just to make sure more then once. His attention to making sure he was here for us to make the scattering the best and poignant it could be. He held off the boat because my brother in law was stuck in traffic. Once we placed the wreath in the water he circled several times so we could say goodbye. He even ordered us up a rainbow. ( no lie!) I would recommend the new sea angler for your loved ones scattering and even a fishing trip if you're so inclined! This guy is the real deal!
