For a second I was worried I had gone to Widows Bay and would have to fight the evil entity from within but lucky for me this is just the BODEGA!! Not scary at all - but you know what is scary good...the breakfast sandwich - Bacon egg and cheese please on everything. I would agree with other yelpy yelpers that the bagel is a bit dry, but don't let that deter you from the yummyness. So get your holy water - watch widows bay while eating a bodega bay sandwich - and enjoy fighting the evil! read more

Very disappointing experience. I saw great reviews so I went. The sandwiches were all OK but nothing all that much better than Subway. I had to ask several times for things like mustard and hot peppers which were supposed to be on the side. Most egregious of all is that the store sells a lot of alcohol like wine and beer. I bought one and only after purchase did they say I couldn't open or drink it there. I would not recommend for dinner. read more

Bodega Bay in Chicago is such a cool vibe! This bodega-style deli serves up a standout Smashburger, boasting perfectly crispy edges that give it a satisfying crunch. The combination of mustard and a light drizzle of ketchup elevates melted American, and really nice pickles for extra crunch and flavors I thought the burger was outstanding but then the New York chopped cheese. It's a delightful with a creamy mayonnaise and ketchup blend, melt ooey gooey cheese topped off with fresh tomatoes and crisp lettuce. It's hard to say which sandwich is better because they each offer something special. Both so friggin good. But unique to have a chopped cheese in Chicago The owners a brothers duo nicest guys! I can't wait to return and explore more of their menu! If you're in Chicago, swing by Bodega Bay in wicker park pick up a beverage, liquor, bag a chips but definitely grab a Sando read more

Feel kinda dumb that I had never even heard if this place, given its location. And it is a troop bodega with a total mishmash of products being sold, from coffee to potato chips to deodorant to microwave dinners to some slot machines. Its pretty frantic inside. But they also have a deli and they make some bad ass sandwiches in the back. The Cuban Panini was excellent. My spicy Latina bombshell wife thoroughly enjoyed it. Service was great. read more

I wish I had taken pictures of the food. However, sometimes the stomach wants what it wants, and I couldn't even wait the millisecond it would have taken to pull out my phone and capture the moment. That's how good the food is here. First, let me say there are two things I think make life worth living: a burger and fries. Now, admittedly, I haven't had a burger here yet, but the sandwiches and chopped cheese are phenomenal. Now, on to the fries. They know how to make them right. Just the right balance of crispy and soft. Not overly crunchy, but definitely not flaccid either. They're exactly how fries should be. Based on that alone, I'd have to say this has quickly become one of my newest favorite places in Chicago. Plus, they have the infamous lunchroom cookies. Love this place! read more

Stopped by for a quick bite while visiting Chicago. I ordered the Bucktown BEC. Clerk was very kind and rang me up super quick. He hand delivered my bagel to me. The Bucktown BEG on an egg bagel was delicious and exactly what you want in a quick breakfast! Bodega Bay is right in a busy area with the CTA and bus stop close by so you can get anywhere you want after! Definitely would recommend. read more

I was really looking forward to trying their breakfast bagel but it was okay and unfortunately kind of dry. I got the bacon, egg, and cheese with chipotle sauce on an everything bagel. The bagel was a little too toasted so that it was dry, and the sauce was not distributed evenly, so that it was only on one part of the side of the bagel and the rest was stuck to the paper packaging when I opened it. The egg was good and the cheese was cheesy, but altogether it didn't have much flavor, which may have been due to the uneven sauce distribution. It may have been an off day, especially with the good reviews. But I'm not sure if I'll be back for the bagel sandwich. Maybe I'll try the other sandwiches or their burger next time. The bodega space itself is bright and clean and has some counter seating facing the window to the street. It's a nice people- watching location, and conveniently located right at the Damen blue line and lots of bus stops. read more

Good subs, nothing too special but good. They have a pretty average sub menu, but they do have a breakfast burrito and bagels. I got the Ham and Cheese sub it was good, nice lettuce, tomato, and the bread didn't seem fresh, likely it was bought not baked. I was looking for something a little more artisanal. This place does have a lot of snack options, no coffee, and beer / wine. When we got here in a Sunday during the Wicker Park Farmers Market there was 1 person in front of us. We ordered 3 items at the counter, it took about 15-20 minutes of waiting to get the three sandwiches. While waiting only a few people came through. It definitely is a good sandwich shop but I am not sure it's popular. They have a few seats to sit in. Definitely a take out type place. read more

Delicious sandwiches, friendly service! After some disappointing meals in Chicago, i was pleasantly surprised by the sandwiches at Bodega bay. We ordered the Cuban, pastrami, hamburger and tuna fish. Everything was delicious! read more

As the name implies it's a small, catch-all mart. Snacks, drinks, alcohol, foodstuffs and sandwiches. That alone gives them four stars. They offer a decent selection of breakfast sandwiches, subs, paninis, soups and smash burgers. Note, subs and paninis are made with sub bread only. Toasted sandwiches means pressed. With that said there's little difference between a hot sub & panini. Less ingredients but stiff bread. Either way hard to hold in hand and eat without dropping key ingredients. Sandwiches in general are a three star offering. I'd grab a cold sub if grabbing to go in the future. read more

When staying at The Robey, Bodega Bay is just a stone's throw away. Bodega Bay offers up some tasty, hand made sandwiches. They've got a ton of options on their menu and the sandwich masters put together delicious creations. First, this place is cute and clean. They've have a respectable selection of drinks, alcohol and snacks to supplement your sandwich selection. On top of selection, they have wonderful, pleasant folks working there. We enjoyed everything about Bodega Bay so much we picked up sandwiches twice while we were in town. I believe we ordered the Beluga and the Italian. The bread was fresh as was everything else on the sandwiches. We will be back at The Robey in October and we'll definitely make a stop at Bodega Bay. read more

Really good sandwich. Surprisingly good if I'm honest. Sometimes I find myself just really wanting a deli sandwich and Bodega Bay popped up amidst my searches for sandwiches in Chicago. So glad it did. Loved the italian sub I got. Full of flavor, tons of deli meat, tasted really fresh and was well put together. Some of the other sandwiches looked great too. Can't wait to try the buffalo chicken sandwich next. My wife loved her sandwich too. Also got the tomato soup which was a well done classic example of a tomato soup. Can't wait to get Bodega Bay again! read more

There aren't a lot of places in Chicago to run in and grab a quick bite and do some shopping at the same time. Bodega Bay, thankfully, is one of those places. It's located at the six corners area at the intersection of North/Milwaukee/Damen. They have a deli counter that is making some amazing sandwiches. When I went, I tried their Cuban sandwich, new smash burger and fries and a S.E.C break sandwich with sausage, egg, and cheese, with chipotle gourmaise spread. I enjoyed all of them, but the smash burger was may favorite. It's a great value at $14.99, including fries. They also have some other great values. I got a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice in a covered mason jar and a breakfast bagel for only $9.99, and you get to keep the mason jar it comes in. The ambiance is that of small supermarket. While this not the kind of place you can do a full shopping in, but you can grab a few essentials and they have a huge drink selection, including alcohol at a great value. read more

Great value for the dollar!! Subs are East Coast style with lots of meat, veggies, and ask for peppers. So happy to find this place.

I've been here to grab a gallon of water before but today I ventured out and got their breakfast sandwich with some fresh squeezed orange juice. Everything bagel, bacon, egg, & cheese with chipotle sauce on the side- It was amazing! I ended up putting the sauce on it because it was spicy and more chipotle than anything else. The man who was working was super sweet and very helpful! My brother & I ate our breakfast sandwiches at the counter along the window- good music & ambiance. Overall great experience and will definitely be back to try out some other items! read more

First going in the Service is rude. The little girl behind the counter is definitely not cut out for Customer Service as asking her any question you get it with attitude or blank staring in your face like you're dumb. They rush you to order but then drag ass to get your order together. The food was mediocre at best, definitely won't be returning and will not recommend. We had the pastrami a Cuban and some soup that was actually pretty cold. read more

Coming back later to write a review on this because I can't stop thinking about it. I went here because I needed to finish off my doordash giftcard before I went to the airport. Such a good sandwich. Great sandwiches and stocked with basically anything you need. Staff is nice and give good recs as well. Heads up, their mustard is spicy!

Staff is really nice, and the food is good. Their chicken panini was big and way better than you'd expect from a bodega. Prices are definitely reasonable for what you're getting read more

Cozy little bodega on a busy intersection. Just about what you expect, great store for a quick pick me up snack or drinks, coffee etc. They have a great breakfast and sandwich menu, reasonably priced. They get their bagels from New York bagel and bialy so their sandwiches are an upgrade from other shops, in my opinion. Staff are friendly as well! read more

Great place to duck into for a deli sandwich! Excellent service! Paige helped me order a sandwich as I was returning home from O'Hare late in the evening. I couldn't place an order online so I called. Paige answered. She told me they were out of their French bread and were getting ready to close the deli for the night. I understood and thanked her. Less than a minute later she called me back. They still had bagels and croissants available. I was able to get my sandwich. She went above and beyond! read more

The boom boom sandwich is absolutely Fire!!! Best Sub Sandies in the area! One Stop Shop!

Really wanted to love this place and the egg and cheese bagel sandwich I got looked great at first, but the second I bit into it I knew they had added some sort of spicy sauce or seasoning. I have a low spice tolerance and was certainly not expecting an egg and cheese sandwich to be spicy. They should really disclose this on the menu and give customers an option to exclude the spice. That said, presentation and packaging were A+. Just wish I could've actually enjoyed my sandwich. read more

LOVE these sandwiches and paninis! The staff is also super friendly. We'll definitely be back.

This is a place that we're going to wind up frequenting. We went to try the sandwiches, and loved them. My husband had a corned beef and I had the ham. Both were made well and, most importantly, they did not skimp on the meat. I'm looking forward to trying the soups in the future as well. As we were waiting for our sandwiches, we looked around at all the other things available. They've got a really solid selection. Our spoiled children tend to hate taking public transit, but it will undoubtedly help us to limit the whining by stopping here to grab some treats before jumping on the train. All in all, this is a great addition to the neighborhood. read more

It was good but waaaaay overpriced. I got the great ham-bino ($7) and added cream cheese. That apparently makes it $12 which is just not worth it to me. I could buy a whole tub of cream cheese for less than the extra $5 it added to my sandwich read more
