A review for pre-covid days, when life was fun. Attended a free hot yoga class, courtesy of Flatiron's "23 Days of Flatiron Cheer" community outreach initiative last winter. That was my first hot yoga class, and I loved it. How would I ever survive attending such an intense breathing class wearing a mask?? IMPOSSIBLE. The experience was intense and cleansing. I was completely drenched in sweat, so be prepared. Our instructor was knowledgeable and I appreciated her explanations for what every pose did for our body. I always want to know the 'why' behind doing things, so I was glad to learn a lot of new information regarding yoga poses that I always took for granted. Class studios and men's changing room are located on the second floor. I accidentally walked into the men's changing room, thinking that was for me. Glad it was empty. The reception and women's changing room are located on the third floor. All clean and tidy, with regular cleaning schedule. Bring a lock to secure your possessions in a locker. I forgot, so I was glad that my stuff was undisturbed. Three showers are available in the women's changing room, so rush right up after the class to claim your spot. I enjoyed that thorough shower after the sweat sesh like never before!

I seriously believe that yoga can change your whole life. I'm still occasionally struggling with my mental health but whenever I come to bodē specifically with the teacher Kathleen (mentioned this in another review but at their upper east side location!), I just feel so empowered. She's very attentive to the class and brings such an awesome energy that I feel safe and encouraged even when I make mistakes or slip up! I prefer the upper east side location mainly because the staircase here (as you see in the photos), is quite the work out (the studios on the top floor/third), but wherever Kathleen goes I'll go lol no but fr, whichever location you decide to go to I know you will love hot yoga! For beginners, I recommend bringing your own water (preferably in a insulated type of bottle that way the heat doesn't make your water hot!), mat and lock and key just to avoid any extra renting fees etc. Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable to stretch around I promise no one will judge you. Also, smile! Yoga can be hard but is so fun and worth it with consistent results. Their classes are $35 individually but you get a one time welcome special of 3 classes for $55. (After that you can decided to do packages etc.).

So thankfully, there are unique classes like trampoLEAN out there that keep my workouts exciting so I don't have to drag myself to the gym every time I want to work off the 3 desserts I likely had the night before (#facts). I signed up for the trampoLEAN rave class, thinking that it would just be a fun, little workout on the trampoline where I might sweat a little. HAH. Boy, was I wrong. This is a LEGIT workout, and I guarantee that you will be sweating. A lot. It's basically 50 minutes of non-stop cardio on your mini trampoline, complete with resistance bands (free ones and ones you pull from the ceiling), weights, glow sticks, and of course, rave-y music. Not only did I have a blast jumping every which way on my trampoline (after I got over my initial fear of falling and busting my ass ofc), but it was a great workout! I DEF felt like I burned off most, if not all of my 3 desserts from the night before (thank god so I'll be able to have another 3 desserts the next day), which is all I really want in a workout class. Will 100% be back for another trampoLEAN rave class in the future!

The noon, 45 minute "express" class was very uplifting and high energy. I awoke from my late slumber and was feeling energized for the entire day. The instructor was very positive and engaging. The music was upbeat and kept me interested throughout the entire time. We worked all muscle groups as we danced to high energy songs that kept our heart rates up the entire class. No breaks. We used weights and resistance straps to work our arm and back muscles, which was not easy. Really enjoyed the resistance strap portion, as it really engaged my back muscles, working them like I've never done my entire life. I can still feel them hurt, as I carry myself taller and straighter. That is the dancers' secret to great posture--strong back muscles! Be careful, the floor was slippery and my sneakers kept gliding whenever we did floor exercises. The studio space is small and is located on the third floor. It was difficult to find, as there were no bright indicators of the entrance. Only one workout space available, so no multiple classes can happen simultaneously. Only one bathroom on the premises. No shower or changing room, which can get hectic if you're attending a class during busy times like after work and need a place to change after sweating.

You cannot pay me to get on the treadmill, so if I'm going to do cardio this is the way I'm gonna accomplish the task. In case you're nervous about this being a room full of professional dancers, it isn't and you're gonna be fine. Everybody's just there to have a good time and flail around the music to the best of their abilities. It's much more about moving and pumping some cardio into your day so no need to feel insecure about your dancing abilities - you're gonna fit in and have a great time! There's also a DJ for every class which is a delightful touch that adds to the party atmosphere. The AMENITIES! WOAH! If you need to take a shower and get ready here, there are two showers in the women's locker room and they're full of Malin + Goetz products. They also have great hair products and a Dyson you can use with a diffuser if needed! The bathroom isn't huge so I could see it getting a little congested and stressful getting ready in the bathroom but wouldn't be a problem if you go during off hours. Overall, this might be my favorite fitness class I've taken in New York City and I will definitely be coming back regularly.

Not only were they so motivating and fun, but the DJ by the corner mixed trendy songs to match their vibes. We pretty much do dance cardio moves to different pop music the whole class, with a yoga mat ab workout in between. I loved how the lights danced along to the music change. The instructor really embraces feeling confident and loving your body throughout the whole class, that you just finish your class feeling good about yourself. I'm so happy exercising and fun can exist in the same sentence, thanks to 305 Fitness. I would totally come back whenever I want to party but also sweat it out.

Clearly the word about this studio hasn't gotten out yet, since there were only 6 people in my class (which is awesome because usually Zumba classes are so packed you can't dance without bumping into someone). Our instructor Natalia was super enthusiastic and energized, beaming the whole time and dancing expertly while I struggled to catch my breath and follow along. She was very fun and lively, and I highly recommend!! The only downside to this studio is the awkward columns in the middle of the dance floor. I didn't expect that after reading some reviews so I was quite surprised. They also had individual rooms for shower, bathroom, and changing. The shower room came with shampoo, conditioner, and body soap in dispensers so you don't have to bring your own. There are a plenty of lockers with combo locks attached. The class felt a little rushed, especially during the megaformer session. It's mostly because it was our first time and we weren't familiar with the workout. The instructor was attentive and she came around every so often to keep an eye on my form, which I appreciated. But the instruction came so fast that sometimes it felt like it went in one ear and out the other. Each workout on the megaformer is pretty short, so the instructor will start to explain the next move while we're doing something else, and that made the workout more confusing, unfortunately. I am sore the next day so I know the workout was effective. If you're used to the workout, I believe the workout would be even more beneficial. It's nice to try new workout classes but I learned in the end that I prefer simply running or doing independent strength workouts with friends, at my own pace. I appreciate that SLT Tread has given me the opportunity to try their class, though!

I actually missed the entrance at first, it's a small black door with a sign. You enter a vestibule and take the elevator down to the studio. The space itself is well set up, with lockers, showers, and towels available. The class is 55 minutes total, split into about 26 minutes on the Megaformer and 26 minutes on the treadmill. I started on the Megaformer, which was primarily upper body and core-focused, with one or two leg exercises mixed in. I have taken a lot of SLT and the former Brooklyn Bodyburn classes, and while the workout was still challenging, the shorter 25-minute format felt a bit abbreviated. I think I might have felt differently if it had been fully focused on either core or legs. The treadmill portion was less dynamic than I expected. We did about eight 90-second intervals, rotating between flat and incline, with a sprint at the end. It felt somewhat repetitive, and compared to other treadmill-based classes, not especially engaging or varied. Overall, I am glad I tried it, but the combined Megaformer/treadmill format was not my favorite. I would personally recommend sticking with a traditional SLT class or a treadmill-focused workout like Mile High Run Club or Barry's. That said, the instructor was a good, she was super upbeat, clear with directions, and gave just enough time to transition between movements without breaking the flow.
