This would've been a five star review--we've been here twice this week already (5-4 star visits, minor issues) and do enjoy the healthy eats. We love the atmosphere and the shops. Sure, some of their food has inconsistencies (açaí bowl had granola on top and bottom, second time it did not have it on bottom and açaí levels were half of what I've come to expect.) The cook was not very happy about it, but just gave an excuse. It still ended up being $9 for a half empty bowl. The cashier asked if we wanted a large or small sweet tea, we paid for a large, or so we thought, because it came out unsweetened and small. When brought to their attention, the guy making the drink wasn't very happy and said they don't do large. But as you can see in the photo my daughter's drink was large. My small cost me $3.50. Despite these niggling issues we left mostly positive. Their honey latte is a standout. I'm glad I'd ordered a salad to split because that was mostly what we ate. Overall, not good service, nor the quality we are used to here. After the meal, neither of us were satisfied and filled. We've never left here so unsatisfied. I'm still giving this place 3 stars because we did really like our other visits and have been coming here for years. A lot of their food is great. Their service is usually good. Neither were this time. In short? Don't ever come here on a Thursday. read more

The food was fresh, light, and well seasoned. I had the two egg scramble with andouille sausage, red/green peppers, onion, and pepper Jack cheese. I had fresh fruit and toast for my sides. My sister had the police and rosemary quiche along with fresh fruit and avocado toast (four pieces are included so perfect for sharing!). I also ordered a vanilla latte and a green tea refresher for my sister. The service was quick and the food was fresh. I love coming every time I am in town. I needed a spot to kill a few hours and work while in Pensacola for the day, and Bodacious Brew did the trick. I got there around 8:45 and it was about half full with some comfortable seating available. There were several open tables outside also. The WiFi was fast and easy to connect to. I ordered an iced decaf mocha ($4.75) and a piece of ham and broccoli quiche ($6.50) with a side of fruit for breakfast. I would give the iced mocha four stars, as the mocha syrup they used was rich but not too sweet and really tasty. I'm not sure if it was because I ordered decaf, but the drink didn't have much of an espresso taste to it so I'd order an extra shot next time. Unfortunately, the food was just blah. The quiche was bland and dry and just lukewarm. It looked really good but the taste didn't match the looks of it. It was a decent sized portion for the price but I really didn't enjoy it at all. Even some salt and pepper would have helped it out a lot. The side of fruit, which was grapes and mixed berries, was pretty fresh however. Overall it's a great place to sit and work or people watch, but I would stick to just beverages next time. read more

I was in town visiting and always love finding and checking out local bookstores. It was a definite plus that this one also had a cafe. I went later on a Saturday night and they were not busy. It's right next to a parking garage that I think was $5 for my 30 minute visit so parking wasn't hard to find. My coffee was wonderful and I found quite a few books I had been looking for. Unique and simple. I'm here on a Sunday morning and this place is bustling with people downstairs. This unique coffee shop/olive oil shop/kitchen shop is quite unique. I wanted a nice quiet, outdoor place to study and this place is perfect! There's plenty of seating in the cafe area for food/drinks, scattered seating upstairs in the kitchen/wine and cheese area and both outdoor patio and balcony seating. I enjoy the fact that I can be here for breakfast/brunch and if I'm here long enough, try out some cheese and wine or head downstairs to check out their variety of olive oils! The food here is simple, so don't expect some elaborate breakfast. I wasn't too picky about it, I just wanted something to eat. I got a 2 scrambled eggs with onions and spinach, side of red potatoes and cinnamon toast. I also got a matcha latte with oat milk. Food was simple even in the sense of flavor, more so as if you'd have to just season your food yourself. For me, I prefer that because I don't like an over-seasoned/super salty breakfast. The red potatoes were a bit on the oily side and the toast was like 5 seconds away from being burnt. The matcha latte was perfect in sweetness for me, not too sweet. Overall, the food was okay, not epic...just super simple. I'll definitely be back, but hopefully the food experience will be a little different and I'll spend some time checking out the wine/cheese/olive oils! read more

Came for lunch and some coffee. While I myself am not a coffee drinker, those in my party who had it really raved about it and were happy. The wraps were good - filling but not overstuffed - served with kettle chips and a pickle. We also got a pizza which I thought was OK. It was a flatbread pizza with a large amount of acceptable cheese and enough sauce to let you know it's there but not weigh through the flatbread. Prices were a little steep at approximately $10 for most lunch items. I'll be back, by only when my wallet is weighing me down with how much cash is in it. read more

The bottom floor is so cute and has all these different olive oils and balsamic vinegars plus the cafe with coffees and food. Its a good place to have a breakfast but nothing out of the ordinary. Poor customer service.

I write this as I am sitting on the patio with my book, a caramel latte, and the Julia Child (eggs, bacon, cheese on a croissant); so you could say I'm in my happy place. There are a lot of hidden seating areas outside including 2 upstairs (right and left) and 2 downstairs (front and back). Bring your pups! The patio to the right upstairs overlooks Palafox and has nice greenery and a fair amount of shade. My breakfast sandwich was messy (what croissant sandwich isn't) but pretty good. The caramel latte was the winner for me. Someone in line told me to order the Southetown (think avo toast sandwich), so I'll definitely be back to try that. This seems like a good place to study, read, work. There is WiFi so that's always a good sign. I wouldn't say it's necessarily quiet up here with the noise of cars and people, so if you're highly distractable come for the people watching. This place is huge with a kitchen shop upstairs, the neighboring Bodacious Olive store, SoGourmet (charcuterie boards +wine) upstairs, and of course the coffee shop downstairs. I ordered a Salmon Bagel, but instead of a bagel, I wanted it on a Croissant. Half of it was so burnt it was inedible! I mentioned to the young man who burnt it that he should only charge me for the half that was edible. No response. I left. It seems like if you want your cafe to survive in these trying times you would train your staff or get more qualified employees to manage your business. His lack of customer skills and common sense cooking will take your business out. This was my first visit and my last. read more

Scrambled eggs, quiche & omelet! Presentation is beautiful, staff are all smiles and friendly! Military discount for active duty. I had the quiche, ham and broccoli- first bite was bland (I was so disappointed)- there was a tiny cup of olive oil next to the slice of quiche, I drizzled a bit and transformed the bland into tasty! Who knew! I think it was garlic with a hint of rosemary- I even put a bit over my Hashbrown casserole! Kristi had the scrambled eggs with peppers mushrooms and cheese and devoured her breakfast (I have her some olive oil to try too). Hubby had an omelet with andouille sausage, potatoes and cheese and slowly enjoyed every bite! We went for Sunday brunch, it's clearly a popular place because there was a long line. But that didn't make the wait for our food long once we ordered. It came in a timely manner. This little place is awesome! It goes above and beyond a coffee shop. They have an awesome space to sit and enjoy breakfast, a simple, structured, and accessible menu, ample street parking, and an awesome staff. This place sports plenty of seating upstairs for lunch as well as a little store and I think classes in cooking and such. Recently we stayed a night in Pensacola and needed quick but good coffee and breakfast. I had a regular drip coffee and she had an iced vanilla coffee and both were spot on. The vanilla iced coffee she said was one of the best she'd had in a very long time. I'm kind of a coffee snob and I really enjoyed it, a little hot but very awesome roast. She had a Julia Child which is a sandwich with scrambled eggs, cheese and she added avocado, she ate it all and loved every bite. I had a perfectly toasted bagel. Love trying local coffee shops when on vacation and this was a great choice. I had the honey latte and a breakfast bagel with grits - al of it was delicious. The latte was just the perfect sweetness. My boyfriend had the vanilla latte and breakfast bowl and really Enjoyed it. He kept saying how good the bowl was - and he is not one to give many compliments. Great pour over coffee and a really, really good London Fog! I ordered a small LF not knowing their cup sizing and it was pretty small. Almost a kiddie cup. My fault for not asking ahead of time but it was still one of the best LF's I've ever had! Wish I did order a grown-up size. My husband loved his pour over dark brew. The Açaí bowl ($8) was very tasty with the standard bananas, strawberries, blueberries and granola. Plenty of seating out back for warmer days and small cafe tables out front along the sidewalk. Wanted to give bodacious brew another chance while I was in town because it has such a nice location and atmosphere. I ordered a large French press and asked what roast was available. The server turned around to look at the sign and then let me know they had a 1950 for drip coffee and also told me the espresso roast. I asked her again what type of roast was able to be used in French press and then she said Ethiopian. I probably should have heeded my gut and left at this point because it was clear she was not the most knowledgeable on coffee. I went ahead and ordered anyways. I drink my coffee black and love French press because of the flavor steeping provides. I got my 16 ounce but it was more a 14 ounce and it was too weak. The color was a clear indication that she did not add enough coffee to the press. I am sure this place has a specialty drink that is very good but French press is not that drink. If you are a fan of good French press coffee, I would recommend finding a different coffee shop. Cool vibe but horrible french press. read more

When out of town, I very much enjoy stopping by the local coffee shops (or anything that's not a Starbucks). I read about Bodacious Brew on Yelp, and decided to come in for a latte--and to use their free wifi. The baristas were very welcoming and definitely scored some brownie points with me. We talked about Miami, football, which I know nothing about, celebrities and then I got my order in. The latte was delicious and their artistry was evident from how they angled the cream to pour perfectly into the cup. I'm always very impressed by that. Since I was there for business, I set up my laptop on one of the tables along the large window facing Main Street. I was there for a little over two hours and I got to watch some of the transactions with other customers. The staff always maintained a smile on their faces--and they didn't kick me out. I noticed some of their breakfast specials looked pretty good, but I was just there for the coffee. As for parking, there was free street parking outside for a max of 2 hours. I went a little over, and luckily didn't have any issues. I could tell a lot of locals (and students) also made a routine of checking in to read/study or maybe just tweet/Instagram/Facebook. They made me feel right at home so I hope to stop by again before leaving Pensacola. read more

The food and coffee were delicious along with customer service. l, however I gave them only 4 stars because their delivery of their food preparation needs work. Once you place your order they print out the order to give to the person who makes the order...today they were having printing/hardware malfunctions or something along that nature because their were multiple people that didn't receive their food because they either forgot or it didn't print the order to the person who makes the food. They also give you pagers but they don't actually use the pagers because they were calling people by their names or the customer was going to the counter asking for their food. Other then that food and coffee like I said is pretty good just need word in the food preparation to the customers. read more
