I would say they are awesome but two of my favorite baristas are no longer with this business for a range of reasons. They were creative and gave amazing suggestions for anyone who was willing to try something new. Since then the customer service and passion that I'm use to from this place is mediocre at best. read more

I stop by almost every morning (much to my wallets dismay ) but y'all these ladies are awesome sauce! And the Milton is always my go to. It's a hopping place but they keep the lines moving and are always upbeat and extremely pleasant. I stop here almost every morning and usually as I'm pulling up to the window they already have my drink made. I'm not sure of the ladies name( she has blond hair and usually wears in in a braid) but she's is always super nice and very happy! I was pleasantly surprised by this place !!! Truthfully I was looking for a breakfast sandwich but I'm so happy this is where I went looking. Their food menu is mostly pastries & bagels and I ended up sticking with coffee. I recently discovered I'm not a huge plain Latte fan, so I opted on a themed drink called the Poe, espresso, dark chocolate, and raspberry drizzle. It was absolutely delicious - a flavorful combination that was well blended and not too sweet. The lady helping me was really great in giving me options on hot v. iced. I had a wackadoodle coffee jones this morning, and they actually coached me into identifying a modified version of the thing on the menu that best reflected what I wanted in my cup. They even kindly wrote my name down so that people would know how to make my weird-ass order the next time I come through. Amazing customer service and a solid delicious warm yummy cup of coffee. This was my first visit to any of the drowsy poet locations and my first experience was really great. The little drive-through was quick and convenient and pretty easy to navigate and the gentleman working was extremely nice and friendly and helped me with my choice. I had the special of the Bees Knees which tastes really amazing. If I lived closer I would definitely visit more due to the great service and delicious beverage. read more

My family and I were forced to flee Tampa due to hurricane Irma. My parents are elderly and my brother and I thought it would be best to get them out of there. We left at 10.pm and could not find any available rooms from Gainesville to Tallahassee. That said, we ended up getting a few hours of sleep at a rest stop about an hour from Pensacola. The next day We decided to try and go to Biloxy to get a room and stopped for coffee at the Drowsy Poet in Pensacola before another 3 hours of driving. The coffee, the latte and the chai latte we ordered were all outstanding, but it paled in comparison to the compassion we would stumble on to at a time when we needed a helping hand. After talking to the person at the front counter and exchanging our stories. A gentleman named Bill told us he was the owner and within moments he graciously offered us a much needed random act of kindness by offering a fully furnished 3 bedroom house he had bought for his parents who currently live in Pittsburg. We couldn't believe how easy Bill Made it for us to accept his offer. His daughter quickly showed us the house and Bill dropped by to make sure we had everything we needed. He didn't know anything about us, he just knew we really needed help because of our parents and he didn't hesitate to solve our current problem. My family and I are so grateful to be able to rest in a safe place and monitor Irma . This is something we will never forget .... ever. Great tasting coffee, fast service, all in a convenient spot just off I-110. If you don't know about the Drowsy Poet's other location you might not think the coffee here would be as good as is it. A coffee drive-thru kiosk. I love these establishments. I saw these all over the place in Alaska when I visited years ago, and I remember wishing there were coffee drive-thru kiosks like these in Pensacola. Well, here is one, right next to a Raceway off of Airport Blvd. Staff is cheerful and friendly, and that is commendable considering they have to sit in what is practically a box in a parking lot. Coffee is just as good as at the Drowsy Coffee Shop on Brent Lane. Do they carry every single item that is carried on Brent Lane. Probably not, but this is a drive-thru kiosk. Convenience is key. Fill up on gas and caffeine at one convenient location. read more

I love this place, every time I go I am never disappointed. These people truly care about their customers and the quality of their products. If you are in the mood for a coffee with a twist I definitely recommend the Poe because you get the nice dark chocolate flavor with a hint of the raspberry which adds to the prominent coffee taste. It seems like it is too sweet but it actually just wakes up all the senses. Coffee was average - not a lot of flavor for a private company. I got a latte and it was very watered down...over done with flavoring. Maybe ask for a double shot of expresso if you want to taste the coffee flavor. read more
