Peanut enjoying his coffee guy pup cup.

Love this place, great service, and addicted to their large iced Funky Monkey. It is delicious. It was the first one I ordered there, and I am a very picky coffee drinker. Highly recommend them; coffee is expensive to begin with no one wants to pay for bad coffee. I go to the one at 6700 North Davis Hwy. My baby peanut is also a fan of their pup cup. And they are pet-friendly; no one wants to leave their beloved pet in the car in this heat. I live an hour away, and every time I go to Pensacola, which is a lot, this is my first stop

We were staying at the Marriott nearby and liked this place so much, we signed up for "perks"! Outstanding coffee, delicious cakes and great service. Plus, who can resist a coffee place that doubles as an eye ware emporium?! We loved the steaming cup decor. Almond Joy latte was a favorite!

I have been coming to Pensacola for work for about 3 years now- I had Coffee Guy Cafe on my first visit and have come every time since! It's my morning ritual- I love the variety they have and appreciate how many sugar free specialty drinks they have. My favorite and my go-to is the iced Snickerdoodle- sooooo good!!! They also have food options and baked goods. The cake display is amazing- I would order it more often if I wasn't trying to be a healthy eater haha! The breakfast options that were added are a hit- good variety and tasty. I love this place! Very interesting concept with the eye doctor inside. Decor is great and the staff is very pleasant. Quick service inside. They also have a drive thru

What a cute concept! An eyeglass store and coffee cafe! The location in the west side of Davis highway is the newer location of the two and it is so cute and unique. You walk in and are greeted by the aroma of coffee and an eye glass store. Anna and Leah were very helpful in recommendations and providing information about the cafe. This specific location has a neat underground element that is great for a quaint quiet space. I order a hot Honey, I Love You latte (honey and lavender) and my husband ordered an iced Pumpkin Spiced latte with Pumpkin Cold brew. Each created with taste in mind. So good and will be a local favorite for a while!

We have wanted to try this coffee for a while. We were greeted by employees. The inside is really cute. Lots of space and options to sit down and enjoy your drink. We really liked it here.

What an interesting concept. An eyeglass shop with a coffee shop, but it works. We ordered our drinks and browsed through the products they sell. Shirts and coffee mugs were cute. Love the big hot coffee cup outside. That caught our attention while driving by so great marketing. Coffee was good in flavor, and I drink coffee black. After giving us all of our food and drinks, we stood there, still waiting, and I noticed they were wondering why and realized they forgot to give us one more item, which was on the side. No biggie. I'd stop by again when I'm in town.

We absolutely LOVE the Coffee Guy Cafe!! We don't live in the area and would always see the sign when we were cross the street at Whataburger (also doesn't exist where we live), so we finally decided to check out the menu and then just had to give it a try the next day. Boy are we glad we did! I don't eat any sugar regularly, so it's amazing you can get almost any drink sugar free! Over the next few days we were in town we tried a bevy of beverages, including: The iced I Love You, the frozen s'mores, banana pudding, hot peppermint, iced Velma, and Superman (not available sugar free) for my son. We loved them all! We also visited both locations and both were equally as good with the drinks as the other. This particular visit happened to fall on my birthday, and they offer buy one get one free cake slices, so I did cheat on the sugar free diet to try a bite of them. We did the cookies and cream cake and the strawberry cake. My family (who ate the majority of them) loved both! They also tried to lemon stuffed blueberry muffin and liked that too. I will say the newer location had a better selection of baked goods than the original location. Not sure if it's because of the amount of orders each receives or just so happened they got a shipment the day we tried the newer location, but I did find it interesting, especially since they are right across the street from each other. Either way, both locations had phenomenal drinks and very friendly and helpful staff who were both kind and patient helping me order all of the drinks sugar free. We can't wait to go back again when we are in the area next time!

Cheesecakes. Look good but I'm not all in. Try them and let me know.

*Service is always amazing, but it can take 10+ min to get your coffee at peak times especially if they are trying to keep the drive thru line moving. * Ambiance is always great. Cute decor and always holiday appropriate. Has a southern country feel to it. * Coffee is amazing and I will always come here for coffee!!! * The food. It looks amazing. I've tried many options multiple times. I WANT to love it but it's just "meh". I love cake and nothing I have tried as far as cakes are outstanding. Other people may disagree, but I'm a cake snob and I have expectations regarding texture and buttercream taste. It's a 3/5 for me for all cake flavors. The wraps are also meh. Chicken salad is definitely not "Chicken Salad Chick good". * The app. It could use work. I'd love a description on the app as to what each item is. Redneck Latte? What's in that? The food items to order ahead are also very limited on the app.

Cute coffee shop, quiet and comfy seating with good vibes

I'm active duty military and came in on Veterans Day with a buddy and Hailey was the barista who took our order. She blessed us with a random act of kindness and she paid for our order out of her own pocket! We tried to protest, but she was faster to tap the POS machine. As two active duty guys, that small gesture meant so much! Coffee was awesome, vibes were better, and Hailey basically earned "Employee of the Year" in our book. 10/10

Coffee first please , then an eye exam!

The restaurant was less than clean. I initially chalked it up to a busy morning, but it was obvious that tables hadn't been bussed and the bar hadn't been wiped down. We specifically chose this restaurant because it was listed as offering gluten-free options due to food allergies in our group. We declined a receipt when ordering, which was on us. We ordered lattes and breakfast sandwiches. The lattes were made incorrectly, and when we pointed out that they had been made with almond milk--even though one of us has a nut allergy--they didn't offer to remake them. One of our breakfast sandwiches was ordered on gluten-free bread, but when the food arrived, the staff didn't know which sandwich was on gluten-free bread and which was on regular bread. When we asked, we were simply told that "both breads are really good." That completely missed the point. We chose this restaurant because we needed a safe gluten-free meal, not because of a preference in bread. Since the kitchen is open and visible from the dining area, we could clearly see the food being prepared. There was significant cross-contamination between the regular and gluten-free bread, making us question whether the gluten-free option was actually safe for someone with an allergy or celiac disease. While we were eating, I also watched a staff member clear the bus tubs and take the dishes to the sink. He appeared to simply rinse the dirty dishes rather than properly wash them. By that point, I had already finished my meal and honestly wished I hadn't. I genuinely like supporting local businesses, and I don't expect perfection during a busy breakfast rush. However, when a restaurant advertises gluten-free options, food safety and allergy awareness need to be taken seriously. Between the cleanliness issues, the handling of food allergies, the cross-contamination I observed, and the apparent dishwashing practices, this is unfortunately not a place I will return to.

It was also nice seeing them interact with their regulars--it definitely feels like a neighborhood coffee shop with a loyal following. I ordered the Poe Iced along with a slice of the carrot coffee cake. The coffee cake was outstanding--rich, moist, with fantastic icing, and tasted like a quality homemade dessert. The Poe Iced was good, but it wasn't quite as complex or memorable as I expected from a coffee house with such a strong reputation. In hindsight, I probably should have tried one of their seasonal specialties instead of sticking with a classic drink. My only real complaint is the drive-thru, which was a bit awkward to get into, so I ended up parking and walking inside. Thankfully, the welcoming atmosphere more than made up for that inconvenience. Will I be back? Absolutely. One thing I've learned about independent coffee shops is that they're always worth a second visit. Sometimes it takes trying a different drink to really appreciate what makes them special. While Drowsy Poet didn't quite blow me away on my first visit like a few other coffee houses have, it's still a very good café and easily a step above the typical chain options like Starbucks, Dutch Bros, or 7 Brew.

Definitely new since I left home. I was interested. Ambiance was wonderful. A good amount of seating with each sitting spot feelings mildly secluded, which is nice. No one wants their coffee shop gossip being overheard. And when you walk in, you're first greeted with that classic glass case of available pastries and goodies. It was hard to not just order one of each item. Service was nice. It was counter service, and they bring your order right to your table. Can't ask for better service than that. Nice folks, good small talk. And the food, it was delightful. We got a couple of fancy coffee drinks, which were well-flavored, not too sweet, and the iced one was presented in a mason jar. Classic. We also shared like four food items. The pull-apart monkey bread was sweet and dense and delicious. Don't order this if you're alone. You'll need help to finish it. Got a creme filled pull pastry thing. That was nice. Flakes for days. This was no rough puff. For the chocolate croissant, also known as a pain au chocolat. Again, very flakey, very buttery, the perfect touch of sweet chocolate. And a savory, massive scone. Bacon and chives, I think. Also very good. Crumbly. Overall, I was very surprised. There certainly wasn't anywhere like this in Pensacola when I lived here. This place is a quality bakery that could easily be found in a medium-sized city.
