Worst Pharmacy in the area. Walgreens says they are "1200…read morescripts behind." That sounds like a YOU problem and NOT mine. I NEED MY MEDICINE. Where does the nightmare begin... Everytime you come here- expect to wait in line for an hour or so. They have one line which is for all drop offs, consultations and pickups. If you try to get someone on the phone it's nearly impossible. You will call and be on hold for an hour and a half and than the recording will say they are on break for 30 mins. This can happen at 10:45am, 1pm or even 6pm. Than when you wait that out- the system will hang up on you. Now, hurricane Ida came. I tried to pick up my scripts 2 days early because it's a hurricane. Waited in line for an hour. Pharmacist says nope we can't fill it. The law states you can have your script up to 2 days early. Pharmacist will not give you your prescription slip back either so you can have it filled elsewhere. 2nd attempt next day over 1 hr in line. Yielded same results. Day 3 storm arrives. Day 4 showed up at store.. nope. closed.. systems are down Day 5 store opens but then they close the doors without warning and still won't give me my prescription back. Day 6 is tomorrow. I'll go waste another 2 hours out of my day and will probably leave with no prescription. I tried to call my doctor's office to have the prescription called in elsewhere. They can't and say their hands are tied- because walgreens has my prescription slip. They told me to get my prescription slip from walgreens. A vicious, horrible cycle. Update: Day 6 today. I was told they would be open 8-4 today. Showed up at 9:30am only to be told the store was open but the pharmacy was STILL CLOSED. No one answers phone even when you try photo or any other department. I see the pharmacy is open at other locations but can't get my prescription transfered on app and can't get in touch with store. Try again tomorrow. That's DAY 7.

TOO MANY PANHANDLERS BY THE ENTRANCE…read more This is one of my go to pharmacies even for day-to-day items that I may not find at my neighborhood grocery or don't want to go to a Walmart type establishment to get. It went through a stretch with some employee choices that left me scratching my head but lately they've all be too notch - friendly and helpful. Here's what they need to work on. It's only one thing. Do something about the number of bums and panhandlers that hang out by the front door to get you coming and going. It's ridiculous. Almost expect to have an interaction with one, two, maybe three of them on every visit. Why do they think a pharmacy is a good place to panhandle? People are already sick and going there for a reason. Catch them at Starbucks instead. AND, it's not just a simple 'can you spare a dime' bums, it's they 'hey, can I ask you a question' bums. Just ask me for money, don't passive-aggressively try to act deep on me. You're a bum, not Plato. Last night I'd made it all the way to my vehicle as the panhandler was occupied on something else. I thought I'd made it. Pushed the unlock button on my keychain then quick footsteps running behind me followed by, 'Excuse me, Sir. Can I speak to you briefly about something important?' CRINGE! No but if you need money, here's a few bucks. Do something about it, Walgreens. It's getting to be out of hand and making the whole location seem shady which it isn't!

Of course when you're in Baton Rouge, there's a memorable meal around a lot of corners if you choose well. In these situations, the nearest chain drug store (Walgreens, CVS, etc.) is the best bet to restock. There is currently a national shortage of the medication, so you would think this pharmacy would work with its customers to make sure that they could get it by answering questions such as what formulations they currently have in stock so that the customer could tell her provider what to write the prescription for. Nope. They told me I had to have my doctor call them and find out this information himself. The pharmacy tech was rude and distracted. She asked me three times for my birth date, and then would not give me information about my prescription. And it's not just this branch of CVS either. They are all equally terrible.

Beware Parker's Pharmacy…read more As some of you may know there has been a national Adderall shortage and it's been difficult for those of us with ADHD to get our meds filled for the past few months. Based on good feedback I've seen online I decided I would try to switch to Parker's Pharmacy because with Walgreens it takes so long to reach anyone to find out if they have it in stock. I called Parker's to see if they could fill it, and they told me they could not answer unless they had my RX in their system. I didn't think much of this at the time but given what has happened since I think this may have been the first red flag. I got my doctor to send them my RX and they then told me they wouldn't fill it unless I could transfer some other prescriptions to them as well because they wanted to "avoid scrutiny from the FDA". When I explained to them that this was the only RX I take, they said it was store policy that they couldn't prescribe just my Adderall. This certainly seems suspicious and I suspect they are just hoarding the drug because it's so hard to find right now. All this marketing about being locally owned and operated doesn't amount to anything when they are refusing to fill prescriptions for the local community.
