Good tapas, friendly service. The churos with chocolate and dulce de leche is fantastic and a great way to finish!

Great service and great food. The empanadas were amazingly good, and the olives are a great starter to any meal.

Went for my dad's birthday dinner after googling "the best restaurant in sydney" and he told me…read morethis was 7th. I don't think this is the 7th best restaurant in sydney and I'm not sure what website my dad found but either way we ate here for a sunday night We ordered several tapas, potatoes, prawns, some rustic sourdough, mushrooms and paella. We opted not to get chorizo because we were advised that chorizo would be in the paella but if you see my photos they were not there... nor were there any prawns in it which surprised me. Anyway what's more disappointing was the service. I'm not sure if the waitress was new but she knew the menu but was just not in the game mentally. She forgot to get us tap water. Forgot one of the orders. Forgot to remind the kitchen we had 6 people (gave us 5 prawns when we asked for servings for 6) Forgot to get us sangria. Geez im not sure if it was just that day but seeing we paid about 35pp including drinks i thought it was reasonable but the lasting impression was the poor service. We had an entertainment voucher and paid about 28 dollars less

This place changed this for me. This place offers mains and Spanish tapas, I was keen to go mains and not share but the majority ruled and one person ordered.. Now another thing I'm not a fan of!!! But! Man they did a good job. We started off with the Spanish chorizo in this incredible sauce that amazing tangy flavours! Then came out the potato and cheese croqets. Then scallops and prawns and beautiful woodfired cheese and bread mmmmm after a few rounds of that out came a pulled pork paella yep. By the end I was so full but oh so satisfied! After washing it down with a few tasty Spanish beers. Heaven. It was getting late so thought to have dessert there as well. And what do you have at a Spanish restaurant? Churro! Come on! Ok. Don't get the churro they were rubbish. Like really bad. But that tells you how good the rest of meal was it still got 4 massive starts. I was even thinking 5.. The service we great! One guy was serving us the whole time, he was very helpful and made sure we understood everything that was coming to our table. The only thing he got wrong was he said the churro's were really yum! Not cheap about $50pp full on eating experience but I think that it's pretty worth it for fun night out with good people, might as well marry that up with tasty as foood!!

I didn't say anything cause I just wanted to spend a good time with my family. We ordered several things that weren't anything special: bravas, torrades (5$ for two pieces of bread!?!?!?!?), croquetas and Pinchos Morunos , the last ones came basically raw to our table. We asked them to please cook them through cause we couldn't eat raw meat, they came back 10 mins later with the meat in the exact same condition. I've eaten pinchos morunos a 100 times... Maybe? Never nearly raw. Not only that, but we all felt quite sick and heavy after dinner. So, after all this, I can definitely say I'm not going back, not recommending it to anyone. I'm Spanish and I've been asked like a 100 times for a good Spanish restaurant, I thought this was going to be it...!! But no... One positive thing I have to say: both our waiters were nice.

They have small plates, cured meats, cheeses, several kinds of paella, and salads. The sharing platters look amazing, they have a little bit of everything on the platter. We ordered a variety of tapas which were all delicious: Gambas con crema y vino blanco -prawns in a creamy white wine sauce. Delicious and comes with 6 prawns. Need more bread to soak up that creamy goodness. Empanadillas de carne: Spanish pork and chorizo empanada pastry -good Jamón stuffed figs: figs stuffed with goat cheese and wrapped in jamon -great Vientre de cerdo: crackling pork belly with cabbage and caramelised apple sauce -good Croquetas de manchego: croquettes filled with manchego cheese -great For the main course we ordered: Paella Serrano: chicken, pork, and chicken chorizo, green peas, and sofrito. -highly recommend Churros and chocolates for dessert! That was not an issue but the service fell off from there. She said she was bringing clean plates for the pallela but forgot, I guess. She also forgot 2 beers we ordered and the omelette dish. I asked about our missing items, especially the churros, my favorite dessert and she said the kitchen forgot. She didn't seem to care but I am still really unhappy. Located on the main strip of restaurants and shops on The Strand, is the little sister of Jah Bar in Manly. Jah Bar in Dee Why is across the road from Dee Why Beach. My friend recently moved to Dee Why and Jah Bar is her new regular. Jah Bar serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The wine list is ample and they have a good cocktail list too. We tried the fish tacos, salt & pepper squid, croquetas and patatas bravas. The fish tacos were the star dish with a crisp taco shell that delicately held the kingfish. The flavours were fresh and delicious. Since my visit to Jah Bar I have learned that their food is sourced locally (oh yeah, looking after our local farmers) and all seafood is fully sustainable. Big tick of approval here. It's so important to source sustainable seafood and buy produce from local sources where possible. My friend shouted lunch (thanks babe) so I can't comment on the final bill but plates start at $12 each and the most expensive is $20. In summary a nice place to stop for a drink or have a meal. Will be heading back to Jah Bar after a swim at Dee Why Beach for a refreshing cocktail and fish tacos.
