The service was good and friendly, although we did have to flag someone down to get the check and to get water refills. Overall, the weight staff works really hard and does their best. The food was pretty good. Some things were way better than others. For example, the tuna on potato was cold tin tuna over a cold, soggy potato, but the chicken skewer, special, the potatoes, and the prawns were delicious. The ambience is very festive and bustling. Lots of good energy and it can get a bit loud. Overall, a good experience and I would go back.

This place started as a Sherry bar and has evolved to a Tapas wine bar. Quality/Quantity - Slider - Good size (for a tapa), cooked well. Roasted Chicken Thighs - Just enough for two people, good flavors. Green Beans - Again, just enough for two people. Cooked well, nice and crispy. 1906 Red Beer - Good start. Good beer. Spanish beer. Well, we are having tapas. Wine is also available, I like the wine chart, see picture. Actually, they had a fairly good selection of wines; I should have gone in that direction. See menu and decor. Atmosphere - Got here late with no reservations. 2 floor restaurant, bathrooms upstairs. Ground floor is for walk-ins, upstairs is for reservations. Got seating in the corner next to the steps. After realizing that was a really bad location due to the traffic, I had the waiter move us. Indoor/outdoor seating available, too cold tonight to sit outside. Bar seating is also available. Open 6 days a week from noon to 11:30pm; Saturdays from 5 to 11:30pm and closed Sunday. Service - Hit and miss, overall good. Server was NOT very helpful but the good news is that the manager started helping him and service improved. Price - $70AUD, $47US expensive for what we felt we got. Overall, the quality of food was good but the service could have been better. The manager was better than the server. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2012 and your 4 businesses. Congrats on all your awards.

Fantastic service on a Monday night at least - when I asked for a wine recommendation the bartender let me try two reds so that I could pick the one I was happier with. It is a much larger venue than Tapavino the original restaurant in Bulletin Place - so less cosy but also less cramped and easier to get a table. The menu has a fair bit of variety from the jamon to the cheese to the tapas to the larger seafood and meat dishes. I tried the chicken liver pate which was creamy and came with nice rye crisps but lacked a bit of flavour (e.g. a bit of pepper would have gone a long way). I also tried the poached octopus and kipler potatoes which was cooked perfectly but again lacked a bit of punch. For dessert the baked apple is sweet and comforting on a winter's evening. Overall I enjoyed the experience and would like to come back to try some of the meat dishes (think lamb shoulder, flank and tripe) but it wasn't a standout location I'd be rushing to tell my friends about.

So this time round, now that I am merely counting down the days to a nursing home tub chair, we settled on something here in Sydney. That we are soon off to Madrid made me long for Spanish food but our morbid dread of overpriced, cod ordinary tapas, nearly steered us clear of that culinary quest. Then we found Postales... Stereotypical to my sexuality though it may be, I do not gush easily and give out full marks even less but here, we found the perfect romantic place to eat. The glorious architecture of what looked more like the crypt of a great cathedral than a reconfigured old post office, the cosy and comfy booth, the subdued lighting and the effortless service, all served as a perfect backdrop to an exquisite array of fine food. We chose the 'Fiesta' menu 'cos it well, sounded like something you'd eat on your birthday. Among the stand out performers: the calamari, which was light and tender, the chorizo, which was elevated in flavour by a deliciously spicy sauce and the sautéed spinach, chickpea and cauliflower, which had a bold authenticity thankfully not dumbed down for the local palate. Throw in some churros and crema catalana for dessert, along with a jug of refreshing sangria, and this ranked as one of our best dinners ever. If I had to quibble over anything, it would be to beg the owners not to stop at just one slice of that delicious 'miche' bread. Highly recommended, especially for lovers...

I don't think this is the 7th best restaurant in sydney and I'm not sure what website my dad found but either way we ate here for a sunday night We ordered several tapas, potatoes, prawns, some rustic sourdough, mushrooms and paella. We opted not to get chorizo because we were advised that chorizo would be in the paella but if you see my photos they were not there... nor were there any prawns in it which surprised me. Anyway what's more disappointing was the service. I'm not sure if the waitress was new but she knew the menu but was just not in the game mentally. She forgot to get us tap water. Forgot one of the orders. Forgot to remind the kitchen we had 6 people (gave us 5 prawns when we asked for servings for 6) Forgot to get us sangria. Geez im not sure if it was just that day but seeing we paid about 35pp including drinks i thought it was reasonable but the lasting impression was the poor service. We had an entertainment voucher and paid about 28 dollars less

This place changed this for me. This place offers mains and Spanish tapas, I was keen to go mains and not share but the majority ruled and one person ordered.. Now another thing I'm not a fan of!!! But! Man they did a good job. We started off with the Spanish chorizo in this incredible sauce that amazing tangy flavours! Then came out the potato and cheese croqets. Then scallops and prawns and beautiful woodfired cheese and bread mmmmm after a few rounds of that out came a pulled pork paella yep. By the end I was so full but oh so satisfied! After washing it down with a few tasty Spanish beers. Heaven. It was getting late so thought to have dessert there as well. And what do you have at a Spanish restaurant? Churro! Come on! Ok. Don't get the churro they were rubbish. Like really bad. But that tells you how good the rest of meal was it still got 4 massive starts. I was even thinking 5.. The service we great! One guy was serving us the whole time, he was very helpful and made sure we understood everything that was coming to our table. The only thing he got wrong was he said the churro's were really yum! Not cheap about $50pp full on eating experience but I think that it's pretty worth it for fun night out with good people, might as well marry that up with tasty as foood!!

We did a little research and found a dinner menu at an amazing price at Bodega 1094, in the Tramsheds facility in Glebe. Tramsheds is a large dining facility in an industrial building, the former Rozelle tram building. One of the numerous restaurants is Bodega, 1904. This restaurant and wine store has been brought to us by the team at Porteno and Bodega. For $65, we received a glass of bubbly and 5 courses including dessert. For an extra $50 we could do the matching wines. The menu is predominately Latin American and Spanish inspired tapas and the menu arranged for New Years was pretty much everything we love to eat. Food is made using fresh produce from local suppliers and prepared in tapas style dishes. On New Year's Eve, you were aslo able to do Ala Carte. We received a glass of NV Cruzat Premier Extra Brut champagne on arrival. The staff were kind enough to top us up with another as the previous dining timeslot was still being served. We appreciated this. The first dish were 2 Sydney rock oysters each with a Yuzu mignonette as well as a Crudo of scallop and finger lime. This went perfectly with the champagne. We very much enjoyed the butterflied wood grilled king prawn and smoky capsicum butter, served with NV Alma Negra Sparkling wine. We then tried a super soft steamed bun, with soft pork belly and a super crispy crackling, served with a tasty flavour of roasted sesame, wombok and salted peanut, served with the 2017 Amalaya Torrontes Riesling. The standout of the dinner was the incredibly delicious. It was the ricotta gnocchi, with zucchini flowers, chervil and a buttery sauce. We could have had a few dishes of this. This dish was paired with 2016 Alpamanta 'Estate' Chardonnay. The final main meal was a lovely Hanger steak with kohlrabi, xo. This meat was like a brisket and nice and smokey. Accompanied with a 2015 Tikal 'Natural' Malbec Syrah. To end of the meal was a refreshing strawberry granita atop a coconut sorbet. This was lovely. This came with the NV Cumbres Andinas Moscato, a very sweet drink to end on. We very much enjoyed all the food here and look forward to returning, especially for that gnocchi! We sat at the bar, just beside the little wine store for our dinner, but the restaurant does fit larger groups. The wine menu is predominately Spanish based and the Sommelier can assist you to match your dishes. You can also purchase a bottle or two to take home. Bodega 1904 also does a great lunch menu and brunch on the weekend. We thoroughly recommend a visit.

The locale opened about a year and a half ago and now has four tables on George Street. Not exactly the most peaceful area. With all the excellent Columbian specialties it is no surprise that it attracts a Spanish speaking clientele so it feels a little like South America.
