We tried the patatas bravas, meatballs, garlic prawns, paella and fried chicken wings and they were all cooked well and were delicious with good flavours. I thought the serving size was fine for the 4 of us. They have a choice of banquets but I have never seen a banquet that wasn't overpriced anywhere, so I steer away from them. Order from the menu and ask for double serves if you are a large group. You can always order more! Their wine list contains a lot of wines from Spain but they are not overpriced and you can try to relive that last holiday in Barcelona, sitting in the sun by the sea with a glass of the rose!

I went to Bocados with my younger brother and we're both known to be quite big eaters. We ordered paella (however the waitress informed us it would be green), chicken wings and bread. Overall, I was very satisfied with the meal. With a good serving of seared salmon on the paella and fresh seafood, this matched the strong lime flavour of the paella delightfully. The wings had a good amount of spicyness, but were definitely over-priced for the small serving size. To conclude our meal, the only sensible option was to order churros. I wasn't overly impressed with this desert. The chocolate could have been sweeter, and the churros could have been slightly more crispy on the outside. However, I'm willing to give bocados the benefit of the doubt that if I were to return, the desert would be on par with the main meal. Overall, Bocados is a great Spanish restaurant. My advice would be to get your fair share of wings, maybe this would be a fantastic first date location, especially if your partner is hesitant to pig-out on food..

Went for my dad's birthday dinner after googling "the best restaurant in sydney" and he told me…read morethis was 7th. I don't think this is the 7th best restaurant in sydney and I'm not sure what website my dad found but either way we ate here for a sunday night We ordered several tapas, potatoes, prawns, some rustic sourdough, mushrooms and paella. We opted not to get chorizo because we were advised that chorizo would be in the paella but if you see my photos they were not there... nor were there any prawns in it which surprised me. Anyway what's more disappointing was the service. I'm not sure if the waitress was new but she knew the menu but was just not in the game mentally. She forgot to get us tap water. Forgot one of the orders. Forgot to remind the kitchen we had 6 people (gave us 5 prawns when we asked for servings for 6) Forgot to get us sangria. Geez im not sure if it was just that day but seeing we paid about 35pp including drinks i thought it was reasonable but the lasting impression was the poor service. We had an entertainment voucher and paid about 28 dollars less

This place changed this for me. This place offers mains and Spanish tapas, I was keen to go mains and not share but the majority ruled and one person ordered.. Now another thing I'm not a fan of!!! But! Man they did a good job. We started off with the Spanish chorizo in this incredible sauce that amazing tangy flavours! Then came out the potato and cheese croqets. Then scallops and prawns and beautiful woodfired cheese and bread mmmmm after a few rounds of that out came a pulled pork paella yep. By the end I was so full but oh so satisfied! After washing it down with a few tasty Spanish beers. Heaven. It was getting late so thought to have dessert there as well. And what do you have at a Spanish restaurant? Churro! Come on! Ok. Don't get the churro they were rubbish. Like really bad. But that tells you how good the rest of meal was it still got 4 massive starts. I was even thinking 5.. The service we great! One guy was serving us the whole time, he was very helpful and made sure we understood everything that was coming to our table. The only thing he got wrong was he said the churro's were really yum! Not cheap about $50pp full on eating experience but I think that it's pretty worth it for fun night out with good people, might as well marry that up with tasty as foood!!

So this time round, now that I am merely counting down the days to a nursing home tub chair, we settled on something here in Sydney. That we are soon off to Madrid made me long for Spanish food but our morbid dread of overpriced, cod ordinary tapas, nearly steered us clear of that culinary quest. Then we found Postales... Stereotypical to my sexuality though it may be, I do not gush easily and give out full marks even less but here, we found the perfect romantic place to eat. The glorious architecture of what looked more like the crypt of a great cathedral than a reconfigured old post office, the cosy and comfy booth, the subdued lighting and the effortless service, all served as a perfect backdrop to an exquisite array of fine food. We chose the 'Fiesta' menu 'cos it well, sounded like something you'd eat on your birthday. Among the stand out performers: the calamari, which was light and tender, the chorizo, which was elevated in flavour by a deliciously spicy sauce and the sautéed spinach, chickpea and cauliflower, which had a bold authenticity thankfully not dumbed down for the local palate. Throw in some churros and crema catalana for dessert, along with a jug of refreshing sangria, and this ranked as one of our best dinners ever. If I had to quibble over anything, it would be to beg the owners not to stop at just one slice of that delicious 'miche' bread. Highly recommended, especially for lovers...
