    Entrees at Bocado Grill
    Barbara D.

Bocado Grill was a spur of the moment lunch choice while traveling through Montreal. This is a small Portuguese grill with authentic, fresh, delicious food. I would have tried everything if I could, the food and menu, while unfamiliar to me, were explained by the owner, who let us come by for a quick lunch before the Eurocup finals game, Portugal vs. France. (Go, Portugal!) during which he had a large party of fans coming for a meal and to cheer on their team. (Go! Portugal!) Highly recommended! PS, Entrees are equivalent to tapas or appetizers. Full dinners were also on the menu.

This is very nice small restaurant. Foods are extremely delicious. and, the staff is very nice and warm. Would give it five star if there is a paperbased menu with pictures.

My new favourite resto! My husband discovered it on Yelp, because of its stellar ratings. When we…read morepulled up I was a touch concerned - how good could a restaurant be that's situated in a strip mall? Answer: unbelievably good! When we walked in, I was very surprised by the ambiance. The decor is welcoming, cozy and inviting, and looks more like a place you would find in St Sauveur. Everyone who works there is warm, friendly and helpful, and we had a fantastic server - thanks Amelie! As for the meals? Oh my. My husband and I were blown away by the wide range of choices on the menu and how delicious everything was. I got the maple salmon on the table d'hote (please add it to the menu full time, it instantly became my favourite meal of all time) and my husband got the Portugese chicken plate. Everything was delectable, including the fresh generous side salad and the hot, tasty fries (yum). Even the veggies and rice were extra delish. The prices are very reasonable, considering how high-end the experience is, and it's even BYOW. I highly recommend Viana Sol! I know, I know, a bit out of the way, but trust us, it's well worth it.

The food is so good here, that I have stopped ordering from the menu: I simply trust José and Miguel to make for me the most amazing culinary experience I've ever had. By the way, I've been to Portugal. The food here at Viana Sol is as fresh as, and even better than, the Portuguese food I had in Portugal. I'm from California, and I'm just blown away by the quality of the food and the service. Another thing: this restaurant is quiet and peaceful: it's good for a date, for good friends (and better wine), and family (including elderly family with hearing loss). I cannot give them enough stars. JUST GO!

Went here last night in the Old Port and had such a great experience at Porto Mar. You need to…read morecheck them out ASAP! Our server Alex was super chill and attentive, and one of the owners, Melanie, came by and was incredibly kind. We even got the chance to speak with the chef, which made the whole experience feel really personal. Food-wise, everything was fresh and full of flavor. The spicy shrimp were a standout so delicious, I'd go back just for those. I had the turbot (yes, it's a real fish ) and it was cooked perfectly. The potatoes on the side were also amazing. We also had a seafood medley with rice (loaded with clams, mussels, shrimp, salmon, cod basically everything) and it was super saucy and satisfying. Drinks were on point too loved my old fashioned. To finish, we had a porto-braised pear with ice cream and it was honestly the perfect dessert. Beautiful location, especially if you can grab a window seat. Definitely a spot we'll be going back to.

This restaurant seems rather large and had a variety of tables (and a bar). There's also apparently…read moretwo doors to get in. We ended up coming in through not the main door. But we were seated at a table for two upon arrival with no reservations. The interior had a lot of nice wood natural looking items, but it also felt a little dated. But the holiday decoration did look really nice. Our waitress was nice. We ordered our dinner and she made sure we always had water. Service was a little slow though especially in the beginning (to take our order) and at the end (to get our check and then pay). We did come in right before they were shutting down for an extended holiday period. They served table bread and olive (with their pits). Ended up ordering an evening table that came with an app, main, and dessert. I got the grilled chorizo, salmon and chocolate mousse. We also got the pork scallops. They didn't have the Portuguese soup at this time. The chorizo was good, the sausage casing had a crispiness and snap to it. The salmon was fine and it came with some potato hash and vegetables. The portion was a little small for me. The pork scallops was also good, pork slices that were topped with a meaty, garlicky sauce. It also came with potato hash and some vegetables. The portion was a little a little small. The chocolate mouse was good and nice way to end the meal.
