He had to leave his car because it wouldn't start. The car was left for a few hours and by the morning, was gone. No phone call, no warning, nothing. We found out that someone had towed it. Now, Ram's Eastgate Towing is charging us $400 to get the car. They said the fee was set by the city/county. I called the sheriff and PD and they said that this was not true, that rates are set by the towing company. Only NC highway patrol can set rates and by their website, a non-collision is around $185 and $40 storage fee AFTER the first night. The car was picked up early Monday morning and we picked it up on Tuesday. During a state of emergency, these people are capitalizing on people during a hard time. Without warning or notification. We did not get a chance to even get our own tow company and we're not sure if they we're out looking for cars to tow during the storm! They were rude and and unprofessional. We have been without power and water and these people only think about themselves as they kept showing my son the flooding in their driveway at their business, like we should be helping them! Do not recommend this place of business, at all.
