Easy 5 stars here. The pizza is very unique, with the crust being the real stand out. When not eating (the one, true) Chicago Style deep dish, I like a really doughy crust. This had dough and air pockets for days, which means a double crunch as you bite into. We split the shaved brussle sprout salad, but we subbed the ceaser dressing for the dijon vinegarette because my wife is a vegetarian. That was nice, fresh, definitely enough to make a medium entree or split between two people with healthy portions. Then we moved onto the pizza. I got the Korean BBQ Chicken as I had never seen KB Pizza before. It was great! A bit on the greasy side, but you don't want your pizza to be too dry. Not greasy to where it acts as a detriment, but if you want to avoid that, it may be better to order the Margherita, which is what my wife got. She says it's very tasty, but could use a bit more cheese (but she says that about most things). The sauce was clearly their own recipe, not something out of a jar. Her crust also had giant bubbles! She says she would definitely come back for this pizza alone. We each ordered our own pizzas and ate two of the six slices a piece. Looks like we have pizza for lunch next week, no complaints there. "Pilsen Style Pizza"--the creation of the Bob's head chef, Matt Wilde, is crazy good. We had been wanting to go for a few weeks since we received a mailer encouraging us to visit this relatively new addition to the Evanston food scene and were at last able to stop in yesterday night. We ordered a Pickle Pizza and a Bob's Sausage Pizza. The sausage pizza was made with quality ingredients and a fluffy, flavorful dough. This was the first time that I had ever had pickled onions on a pizza and they added an extra zest to the pie, while retaining the crunch of a fresh onion--definitely an ingredient that I would love to see on more pizzas. We chose the pickle pizza because we were curious to see how this pizza could possibly be good. We were expecting it to be salty and overwhelmingly dill flavored. But we were very pleased to be proved wrong. The toppings are a refreshing combination of mortadella, garlic cream, and dill pickles--but it seems as though that the pickles are only lightly pickled (still retaining a fresh crunch), sliced very thinly (perhaps before they are pickled) and expertly seasoned with fresh dill. The pickle pizza would have to be our favorite of the two that we tried, although both were great. The only thing that I would change would be the way my beer was served--which arrived at my table with no head; which may be because I don't know how many people are ordering Old Style from the tap, but it was something that I was looking forward to, but became something that I was ultimately disappointed with. read more

The ambiance was great! I had to walk through the tight aisle to get my pizza though. I had the Margherita pizza. Asked for extra cheese. I found the pizza lacking sauce and cheese. If I wasn't so hungry, I wouldn't have eaten more than one slice. I ordered extra cheese to share with my pup. I ended up giving the pup most of the cheese I could find. Honestly pizza was overrated. Everyone kept taking a bout how good it was went at 10 for the slices that might've been the mistake. Got pepperoni it was okay taste wise nothing crazy. The server didn't really check on us he seemed out of it and he charged me wrong then proceeded to say he refunded me and needed to take my card again for the right amount. I'll start by saying this Bob's pizza in Evanston is 10 times better then the original in Pilsen from the service to the taste of the pizza! Bob's pizza is located Inside of the whiskey thief tavern. You tell them that your there for bob's at the front when you enter they don't have a seperate counter. Pizza was certainly made from high quality ingredients. Dough was amazing! The texture was on point with a nice bite cooked perfectly. The pizza itself tasted phenomenal...I ordered 1st half cheese and 2nd half dill pickles and ham. This was my first time eating a pickle pizza and l loved it. I'm happy I got half and half a hole pickle pizza would of been to much on the pallet...the cheese half helped cut some that rich dill pickle flavor or else it would have been overwhelming. The service was great. My wife and I were in a closed off booth with a candle light witch was pretty cool and romantic. 100% recommend! read more
