Well. I'm disappointed to be honest. I had come in during valentines with my gf. It was around 4:30pm. So I know it can get a little busy so I was being patient. I had ordered large chili cheese fries with a chocolate shake. My Gf had ordered number 14 which is a chicken sandwich combo. We were ordering just as another customer was getting there food and the cook had made a few mistake with his order. He also had given him cold fries as well. So I was a bit hesitant to continue to order but I still did. I paid 21.29$. We had waited for around 15 mins, which is fine because there was about 3 other people who were inside that had ordered before I had did and a small line outside. But from what I had heard some people who have been waiting for nearly 20 - 25 mins. So that didn't sound good. Well we finally get our order and they had forgot my shake so I waited for that while I ate my chili cheese fries. Well, they're mediocre at best. It's something you could easily make and more for the amount it cost. It was 7.49$ for the large chili cheese fries. But for that amount I could have easily gotten the ingredients from the store and get the same taste. Plus I'd have a whole lot more for the price. But I get it. The high price is for the atmosphere right? Wrong. It was dead quiet. No music, no joy. Everybody seemed a bit disappointed. Not to mention my disappointment with my chocolate shake. It was 5$ or to be exact 4.99$. It tasted spoiled. Not to mention it's not a good shake. Now that could just be me. Because I had asked a few other customers and theirs were fine so it's ok I guess. My GF didn't say much about her meal so I can't say about much with that. I'd just keep an open mind about this place. It's not like Fat Jacks. I plan on going to this place again when it's not as busy. I want to give this place a second chance. If it's better I'll update the review and I raise my 1 star to something higher. read more

I believe this place just opened yesterday, and I loved Fat Jack's so had to try it. They left all the decor the same inside, but that's about all that's the same. The burger was okay. Not great, not horrible. They serve crinkle fries with a little seasoning on them, and they were ok. Walked in an Ozzy Was playing on the radio, so that's a win right off the top. Visual aesthetic the place is a 50s dinner with pink tables, bar stools and all the standard Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, cars art on the walls. Was not hot inside despite being in Summer and full. Been here a couple times now. Food is decent and service is ok. However, they really need to update their menu. They have a sign all menu items cost an additional $1. Ok. I had the #1 combo and was pleasantly surprised to have crinkle cut fries- not too common in these parts. Crispy on the outside and yummy all around. Tonight was our second time here and I confidently can say they earned 5 stars from me. To me the taste of food from a restaurant is my top priority by a wide margin. I loves burgers of all types; from gourmet, to fast food, and all points in between. Was I expecting House of Ju Ju or Eureka Burger? No, and that's perfectly ok! Ok, let me get to it... The FOOD: BURGER: I got a Jalapeño Avocado Burger with cheese and I added Bacon. The patty was seasoned well with salt and pepper and cooked just right for this kind of restaurant. For a gourmet burger I prefer them cooked rare to medium rare, and I wouldn't want a burger from this kind of place cooked at that temperature. I do expect it to not be over cooked so it keeps its juiciness. Bob's Good Burger delivered! Admittedly, I felt my burger was over cooked and under seasoned on our first visit. This time it was just how I like it! The avocado portion was generous and they left it fairly chunky and not over smashed, which I prefer. The jalapeños added the heat that I like and the bacon added the savoriness. Speaking of bacon, it wasn't the best quality, but I wouldn't expect it to be. It was "good" to me and cooked well. The buns were lightly toasted on on both sides which makes for the warmth and texture I want in a bun with the a light crunch. Combine all this with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, and a thousand island type sauce and this burger hit the spot! FRIES: Large crinkle-cut, hot, fresh, crispy on the outside and hot and soft on the inside. Seasoned with a multipurpose seasoning and it was game over! Some places put too much seasoning on their fries (Dog House, I'm taking to you) but these were seasoned just to my taste. They were exactly what I would hope for at this type of burger place! It's a quick burger place, but surprisingly tasty. They have indoor seating but we had a picnic in the car. I ordered the patty melt and it was delicious. It's a bit different in that instead of rye bread it's served on grilled Texas toast type bread. It was piping hot with melty cheese and grilled onions. The fries are crinkle cut and seasoned. I also got a root beer freeze that I'd highly recommend. So often freezes and shakes are too thin and milky for my taste, but this was nice and thick. I thought the prices were more than fair, less than many other quick service places I've been to lately. My boyfriend really wanted fried okra (hard to find around here) but they were out of it... In the picture is shows that it has bacon and cheese. So I to make sure that it did in fact have bacon and cheese the gentleman said yes it comes with bacon and cheese. Worst customer service ever. Google says they close at 10 PM so we arrived at approximately 9:40 PM and all the "OPEN" lights were on. When we tried to order they told us they were closed, I requested to speak to a manager and they said they had "no manager at all" and ended up taking my order after all. One of the girls in there kept looking at our car and making gestures displaying her annoyance at us, so completely unprofessional. We got our food and it was cold and mediocre to say the least. Will never go back to this place again. Save your money and go somewhere else. Sadly, this is why small businesses go out of business; the unprofessionalism, the inconsistency, etc. Also, the most recent review below is correct, they print out your receipts on a Sears receipt, very tacky. The food was good. One of the things I was disappointed in though was that I ordered hot wings so I assumed they would come in a little tray and the wings would be smothered in the hot sauce. But they came in a little bag and it was basically just fried chicken wings. A container of hot sauce was given on the side. The other disappointment was that I had asked for a combo and it was not rang up as a combo but I didn't notice at first. When the food was ready I went to go pick up my order from the window and inquired about the fries to which I was told did not come with it. First of all, I was led astray by the internet listings for nearby restaurants close to the Home Depot where I was shopping. The listing for Fat Jack's was full of glowing reviews for burgers, fries, shakes, etc. Four-and-a-half stars out of five. So, I typed in the street address and the GPS system zeroed in on the exact location. Yup, looked like a vintage drive-in or dine-in cafe, all right. But the name of it was Bob's Good Burger. We were there, and wanted a meal (dinner time), so we got out and went inside. The menu board was hard to read, especially for my husband, who cannot tilt his neck back. (The board was slanted instead of straight.) Anyway, we each ordered a regular hamburger and banana shakes. And one order of fries and one order of fried okra. The girl who took our order was very nice. We took a seat and waited for our number to be called. When we picked up our order and took it to our table, we just figured they were working on the milkshakes. After a while, we inquired about them. Some guy said, "We already gave them to you!" (Noooo, you didn't.) So, we got the shakes, which looked good. But the whipped cream on top was at least half of the volume of the shake. Underneath, the ice cream was the "softee" type, rather than premium ice cream. After sipping it a while, I asked my husband if he could taste any banana. He shook his head no. I did see a few flecks and specks, as if there might have been a few bits of old banana in there, but even so, we could not taste any banana. It was basically a serving of softee vanilla ice cream melting with whipped cream (which was probably artificial). On to the burgers -- VERY small, like for little kids. I would hate to see the size of the ones that were actually on the kids menu. The meat patty was the exact same thickness as the pickle slice, and was wayyyy overcooked, bordering on burnt. Dry and chewy and burnt-tasting. Meat did not taste fresh. Neither one of us could finish even half of it. The fries were the crinkle-cut kind, which I don't like, but not gonna fault the cafe for that. BUT, they were extremely over-salted to the point where I had to try and wipe a crust of salt off before I could eat it. I gave up on that after trying a couple of fries. The okra was pretty much okra mush coated with cornmeal. We could not eat those, either. Rather than raise a fuss, we decided to just go and make a mental note not to return. One more thing -- we could barely eat, because pesky flies kept landing on us and our food the entire time. Beware this place! read more
