We left our car with the shop and was expecting a call with a quote while out of town. We never received a call and no work was done including diagnosis. When they finally Got to the car it was not repaired and needed a larger job to be done. The car has sat for another week untouched, currently 3 days after we were told it would be done. Unprofessional . Made an appointment for Thursday and dropped van off Wednesday night . Thursday 3:30 PM. No update on repair. Called 3 times and left a message. No response. Thursday at 4:30 went to see what was up. Business closed. Van was not touched. Took van home and went over of Friday afternoon. Shop closed. I needed the key I left with them and they are closed Saturday and Sunday. So they just thought I could be without a car for 4 Days !!! No sign on door and no message on answering machine. Have stopped in a couple of times in the last year or so. New owner with same great service. They go through the troubleshooting to give a better estimate of what the problem may be. They don't just hear the problem and give you a guess at what usually is the trouble with the issues you've stated. Prices are on par or better with other shops. My car needed an oil change urgently So I called Bob's and got an appointment same day, they helped inform me on which oil my car takes and plugged two nail holes in my tire I didn't know was there. I dropped my van off to have my brakes replaced, because I thought I heard a scrape noise. They called that afternoon telling me that my brakes were not worn and did not need replacing. I waited 5 weeks for them to get a hoist repaired to install a suspension system part on my Ford ES350 van. After calling many times, I finally got an appointment to get my active suspension system installed on my Pleasure Way Van. We arrived at our appointment time, on time, a person came out to greet us, and said what are you doing here? We cannot do the job today as some other customers truck was on the hoist. By the way, (you don't need a hoist to do this job), I said to the person, we have an appointment that you made for us. He said we can't do it today! They did not call us to let us know they could not do it or to offer a different date to do it. We are done with Bob's! No apology or rescheduled offered. Very unprofessional!!! Took my car here to Bobs Auto Repair to have two simple things done -- replace two knock sensors, and one Engine Gasket because it was separating from the metal and oil was leaking out badly. Was originally quoted around $800, due to the amount of labor to dismantle almost the entire engine to get to that Gasket. Agreed to that price verbally over the phone and told him, Mike the "owner", to go ahead. They called a few days later and told me the car was done and to come pick it up. When I arrived there, suddenly the bill was over $1,200 and he never told me anything about this $400 increase at ANY POINT. This was the first point of dissatisfaction. Second, they DID NOT TEST DRIVE THE CAR after "fixing" it. Got less then 1 mile away from their garage, and my car is now Misfiring like crazy and bucking like on a crazy horse. The car worked just fine before I brought it in, it was just leaking a little oil -- which I had been constantly checking and refilling -- so it never got empty. I immediately turned around and brought it back as soon as this happened. Yelled at them for not bothering to Test Drive it, and told them to fix it properly. Well, they kept the car for a total of 2 months--I called once a week and got the same bullshit story "oh we are working on it". Meanwhile, I drive past there once every few days and the car is sitting in the same spot it has been forever. So they are full of shit! Obviously they do not know what they are doing there. Bunch of morons! DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE unless you want them to break it, and then NOT claim any responsibility for ruining it. They had the audacity to tell me it would cost another $2,600 to fix this "new" problem that they had caused. So displeased with this place. Should be illegal for them to work on any cars if they do not know what they are doing! read more

Bob's is great! Hands down my favorite and most trusted place for our vehicles. We've had the best experience with Bob's Auto and we've tried 3 other places in ZHills that didn't work out as well. Bob's has done extensive work on both my car (timing system update on Lexus, dash fan replacement, O2 sensor replacement) and our truck (Turbo system replaced on our super duty Ford, also cleared gas from the diesel system when we loaned it out and it was mis-fueled) plus general service, tires, and air-conditioning. They are honest and reasonable - something you hope for but don't always find. read more

Anybody remember the Good Ol' days--Sinclair Dino-Gas, S&H Green Stamps that you would trade in at Publix? Well, take a trip to Bob's and you'll go back in time. They operate out of a fully functioning (except for .29 cents gas !!!) old, Sinclair Station. It even has restored pumps out front--Way COOL !! These folks are total motorheads and they sure do a fantastic job. I took my 2008 SRT-8 Dodge Charger in for some brake pads, all four wheels. I actually brought my own SRT-Brembo Pads and they installed them with no fuss. Some other shops MAKE YOU buy the parts from them---not Bob's. The price was over $100 less than the local Dodge dealer. The Technician "Robert" did an excellent job and even took the car down the road to "Bed the Pads" & make sure it had no squeaks or pad shimmy. He didn't mess with my driver's seat adjustment settings at all(which I appreciate). When he returned he quickly went and got a heat-sensor gun, just to make sure all wheels were in spec and not dragging any pads. I am very, very impressed with this shop. Even the nice, desk clerk girl, "Nikki" was a total gear-head and loved talking about her Hot Rod Mustang GT! It doesn't get much better than this: Fair prices (most are posted up on the wall with rates) great service and even some gourmet coffee from the Kuerig Machine in the break room/lobby. Go to Bob's Auto Repair and have a great customer experience---they fix it PERFECT the FIRST time!! read more

I think they overcharge and due poor work. We had to bring our truck back after they supposedly put new steering fluid lines and Also when we had our door repaired Neither job was done correctly. In addition to the inconvenience of having to return for a botched repair it's also dangerous to lose your power steering while driving. I'm disgusted with this business, every time we get an estimate the charge is always at least 300-500 dollars more! read more

Great place. I had my 23 year old son go there after reading these reviews. My son has Illinois Plates on the car and the guys there were honest and complete on what they did. My son is 23 so, he doesn't appreciate help most of the time because he knows and dad doesn't. Well, he was treated well and they suggested to have all four headlight bulbs be replaced. Good suggestion and they indicated it would only cost for the bulbs because when they got the first one burn out the rest are close - fair price of $160 to replace all four bulbs and he had two of them he came to the place with. I have lived in Z-hill for a year and a half. I've driven past Bob's Auto Repair many times and always noticed how neat and clean it looked. After making an appt. at the shop I've used since moving here and being irked AGAIN by their not being ready plus the place is ALWAYS a mess, I finally decided to try Bob's. Well, it's one of the best decisions I've made. I stopped in to scope out Bob's and MAYBE make an appt. I was greeted by the lovely and polite, Kelli, the owners wife. She worked with my schedule and the appt was made. Arriving a few days later at said appt time I was promptly greeted and my vehicle whisked away for service. Everything was done with a few xtra perks like fluids topped, brakes, belts and hoses all inspected for my upcoming trip to the snow lands of upper NY for Christmas. I was served coffee while waiting in their neat, clean waiting room which has a plethora of reading material and is decorated in nostalgic signs and slogans of yesteryear. This is a place your wife would feel comfortable waiting. Kelli isn't always behind the desk, but she assured me the young gentleman who shares the chair with her is every bit as polite and proficient. I'm not one for posting reviews, especially negative ones, but my experience here needs to be shared as all the other reviews are positive. I'm not a vehicle guy so I will spare you my attempts at relaying the actual issues/replacements they performed. It honestly doesn't matter for the story. 1999 F-150 broke down on the way home from work. Got towing from my insurance company. Looked on Yelp for the closest local auto shop because I try to give the little guy my business as often as I can. Upon arriving I specifically told them that this is an older vehicle with some issues and do not want to spend more than $1000 on fixing the vehicle. (Which I thought was generous given that it blue books at $1250). I get a call 2 days later that it'll be about around $650. Ok, that's not too bad. Wife drives me to the shop the next morning, and I drive it off the lot and head to work. That same day I'm attempting to pull out of the work driveway which connects directly to hwy 301, and the truck dies. I'm able to pull off and get it going enough to eventually get back to work (died 3 more times). I call them back and have it towed there. Next day I get a call stating it'll be about 300 for the next fix. Ok, that puts me right at that 1000 that I didn't want to spend, but it is too late to go back now, so I say go ahead. Wife drives me there again (second time she missed work time) but this time the truck won't even turn over. The same exact problem I brought the thing in for. I wait for about 30 minutes before deciding that I just need to get to work as does my wife and I will deal with them later. Get a call later that day that they believe the part they installed was defective and will be warranty replace it themselves. Made a point to tell me on several occasions I wasn't being charged for it. Well no **** I won't be charged for you putting a defective part in my truck. 2 days later it is ready and I drive it off (3rd day wife drove me). Get ready to leave after work and it doesn't start again...I'm livid at this point. Have them tow it at their cost and get a ride home. Next day I call back and they say it'll be another 300ish. That puts me at around $1250 (I'm pretty sure the real total was more like 1350, but I don't have the bills in front of me). So...I now have had a garage not fix my vehicle several times, but I am s.o.l on that cost anyway. Decision is do I let these same guys that couldn't fix it try again, or eat the cost and move on. I eventually come to terms with the fact that I was basically screwed no matter what and just had them fix it again. Couple days later I pick up the truck and it was running well enough. Summary: Multiple attempts at fixing vehicle with no success and increasing costs (above the budget I gave them from the start) Multiple days of lost wages/time due to their lack of testing a vehicle they claimed was fixed This was a totally unacceptable experience and had I any real choice I would have removed my vehicle from their care earlier. I did have a positive conversation on the phone with Paul who basically just listened to me vent, but I still ended up paying over the predetermined sum and was left with a vehicle I basically cannot trust. (Traded it in for a new vehicle this past weekend due to this and received a whopping $800 for it that I negotiated up from 500...) Lesson learned: Just go to the big corporate sites that cost more up front but fix it the first time. read more

Very pleased w the services provided at Bob's. I brought in a 2001 Honda van w over 200,000 miles for an oil change and inspection. They recommended new valve covers and two new tires. Not urgent they said but I decided to be on the safe side and get it done right away. As a single woman I liked that they took care of my vehicle like they owned it. Ah, Zephyrhills I am pretty sure this town has more mechanics per captia then any other town in U.S.A. So were does one look to to get a routine transmission fluid change. Naturally I was drawn to Bob's do to all the solid 5 star reviews online. Upon driving onto the parking lot one can't help but admire the quaint feel of the remodeled look of a 1950's theme gas station, which I believe is a very effective sales tactic as it shows attention to detail and gets my money spending gears in motion. The nostalgia doesn't end there inside the atmosphere is clean and well maintained. Early Americana time pieces decorate the waiting area, and a friendly hello and warm smile nearly causes my wallet to jump out of my pocket. I was immediately helped. While I waited I was served a fresh brewed, very large cup of coffee! My vehicle was serviced by a very proficient mechanic, as you can watch your vehicle through the waiting area's window to the garage. I feel the work on my vehicle was superb, and of high quality. Now my experience of the passionate, dedicated, and superior customer service doesn't end there. Latter that day I felt a surge of a D.I.Y. maintenance come over me, and figured I could change out the fuel filter on my ZX2. Well I botched it up pretty bad and had no idea on how to fix it either. Having nowhere else to turn to, I went back to Bob's and asked Fidel for advice to fix the problem. Not only did he hand me the clips that was needed for the fix, he went with me to my vehicle and explained to me how to correct the situation. His expert advise was a tremendous help! That my fellow review seekers moved me beyond a merely satisfied customer to a loyal customer who will give Bob's Auto Repair repeat business; ambitious standards long-term quality service but, above all, reliable, trustworthy service. The saying is that the customer is always right. While most business supposedly stick to this mantra, few truly go the extra mile for their customers. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, I have a Rodeo I bought used from my neighbor, I drove it for 2 weeks until my work schedule allowed me to get a tune up, oil change, and have it looked over for any other work that needed done. The Rodeo sat there for a week after they told me it would be ready in a couple of days, they then charged me $2,100 for repairs they said needed done, I finally picked up the Rodeo on Friday afternoon, had to run a couple of errands, after coming out of the store and this was about 4 hours after picking up the truck it wouldn't start, I had to get a jump to start it, I drove it home and it's been sitting in my driveway ever since. When I got ahold of Bob's they then informed me they did what they were suppose to and they have a tow service they could come and get the Rodeo and see what the problem is, are you kidding me?? I just had it up there, paid $2,100 and you want me to pay you for a tow? I was told by Slicky's when I got it up there that they battery cables were so corrioded that they were ate through and when Bob's did the tune up or any of the other work they did this should of been caught. If you need some repair work done DO NOT GO TO BOB'S, he will majorly rip you off. read more

Let me start by saying I own a uto repair shop in new jersey . We have a son at st Leo's university near Tampa. First day back from Christmas break his jeep would not start. I checked local places that looked reliable. I decided to try bobs, after the initial call I felt very comfortable. Talked to Jessica who was very sympathetic to my situation . We had the car towed over . I called in the afternoon only to make sure the car had arrived . Jim the manager answered and told me he would check it out and get back to me. I left my garage around 5 pm. After I was home I got a call from Jim around 5.45 . We talked and he told me the problem. I'm in the business , and trust me , he knows his stuff. The next day he called me to tell me how everything turned out and that it was done. The price they charged was very fair. My wife and I are so happy that we feel very good about having bobs (and Jim ) around if our son needs any car repair !!!
