Was very excited for this place but was a bit disappointed. The wait to order was SO long... it took 25-30 mins to order and then get the drinks. Granted it was their grand opening and everything was broken so I'm sure things will improve! I ordered an oolong milk tea which was one of their popular/recommended drinks and a kung fu black tea at 75% sweetness. I am not sure if they messed up on our order but the oolong milk tea was the worst drink I've ever had. It didn't taste like oolong at all--I took one sip and threw it away because it was so bad :/ The black tea was good but it was SO sweet. Somehow this place popped up without me knowing it! It opened a week and a half ago, and it's proximity to me is going to be dangerous hahaha. Their flavors of donuts change each week, and we tried all six of their flavors (for $15) and they were all delicious! The inside was so soft and the outside was crispy! I went with my friend who has lived in Japan for several years, and she said that these were better than the mocho donuts that she tried there! Flavors were strong as well. Coming from California, I had my fair share of boba and mochi donuts. Honestly feel this is one of the best you can in the area. But it definitely isn't my #1. I tried 3 different times before I wrote the review. This place took over the old Main Street Poke spot. Other than wall design and different counter, it's pretty much the same set up inside. Boba drinks are pretty decent. 2/3 perfect, 1/3 stale boba. I had the same drink all three times, brown sugar cookies and cream milk tea. As for the mochi donut, I've gotten the 6 pack each time and there was always one flavor that was stale. First time I wasnt even sure since it was the very first donut from here I bit into. And yup stale. Idk maybe the funnel cake/churro always the stale ones. All three times it was that. Other than that, the girls on the counter are friendly but definitely loves side conversations over packing up orders sometimes. Most seem pretty new so there was always another girl telling them what they needed to do. Maybe I try again soon after they settle in their spot. read more

Starting with the donuts, they're incredible. They're so unique that there's not a great way to describe them. The donuts are chewy (in the best way possible), yet fluffy at the same time. The flavors rotate weekly and you can see what flavors they have on Instagram @mochidoughcarmel. Highly recommend! The boba tea was ok. I got the brown sugar milk tea with tapioca boba at 25% sweetness. The sweetness was great, but it wasn't super flavorful. TLDR; solid four stars (maybe even 4.5). Good drinks and fresh mochi donuts. If you're in the area it's worth a stop. Longer: this new spot is super cute which is genius because everyone will want to take photos and tag them. Super fun decor! You can self order or order at the register. Self ordering is nice because you can scroll through all the options but in general takes me longer personally because I want to see everything. I opted to do the best seller milk tea with "brulee" on top and the stir fry boba along with a box of three mochi donuts. I would normally do Thai tea with boba (and would next time). In terms of cost I think this is more than I would normally want to spend on boba/milk tea drinks. There is also a charge for light ice. I felt like my drink was very tasty but definitely had a lot of ice (I forgot to add half ice for the .60/charge) which made the boba harder to get to and come out. It was good and the right sweetness for my personal taste (sweet but not super overly) and the boba tasted good and fresh as well. It took a while to get but, again, new spot and almost everyone seemed to be in training so totally fine just note if you go some time soon that you might need to be a bit patient with the crew. This drink tasted like a graham cracker without the cinnamon to me. The cheese foam was subtle but a nice addition. I arrived right after opening so the donuts were warm and fresh. I got strawberry creme, taro, and biscoff cookie. Overall the cook was perfect, nice fried dough on the outside and chewy mochi texture in the middle dough. Personally I felt like the frostings were a little overly sweet (good, just a little more sugary than I'd prefer since the donuts are super yummy themselves). Overall one drink and three donuts cost about $17 (I shared the donuts but still feel a giant sugar rush). (Would have been more if I had left a bigger tip but I fat fingered the ordering screen while I went to leave a much better tip and literally left basically nothing so I felt like a jerk). Worst Boba I've ever had. I don't know what any of these reviews are talking about being the best boat they've ever had. I ordered the brown sugar milk tea with the viral toy that's in the cup and then I ordered a regular one. The one without the toy ended up tasting just a little bit better than the one with the toy in the cup. There was no Boba in either of our drinks, I know you can add Boba to it, but I assume that it came with Boba. If it actually doesn't come with Boba, they should really make that more clear. The reason I think that he may have forgotten or cooked it too much or something, you can tell in the picture that it is really dark at the bottom, it stayed that dark. It never got any lighter and that is the paste or whatever it's called at the Boba sits in. I don't know if you forgot to put the Boba in, but I don't know why he would just put the paste in there because it tasted nasty. It's funny when we walked in. There were three teenage boys sitting there and one of them said "this just taste like milk." Since I don't usually take what a teenage boy says seriously, I let it go, but after drinking it yes he was right. It literally just taste like milk. I am now on the toilet because of this. The guy who served us was just not someone that should be working at a Boba shop. He obviously doesn't want to be there and he makes it very clear. He hides in the back, does his best not to interact with customers. Maybe go during the weekend I guess to try it not during the weekdays. Where have mochi donuts been all my life? I've been hearing about the hype and had to come check it out for myself. I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon and was amazed by the intricate decor and insta worthy photo opps. It was quite busy and mostly everyone seemed to be waiting on their order. All ordering takes place at 2 digital kiosks which is pretty genius so the staff can focus on fulfilling orders. The donuts come in 3, 6 or 12 sets. They also have boba tea but I didn't order that this time around. I got there before the big rush so it was only about 5 min before they called my name to pick which donuts I wanted. I chose 3 more sugary ones - Oreo, year of the rabbit and graham cracker. Everyone was saying the taro is really good. They change the flavors about every week which will keep me coming back to try new things. I got them for take out and ate almost all of them on the way home because they were so good. The BEST boba tea I've had yet in my life. The Carmel Brulee, with brown sugar boba is my go to. I've been twice now and it's been great both times. They were out of the tapioca the first visit, and I still loved the drink, but it is much better with the boba. The Mochi donuts melt in my mouth and are such a perfect sweet treat. Beware, Tues dollar doughnut deal is pretty strict & if you do not ask you will not get it. Doughnuts are good if you get them fresh. We liked them a lot, the first time. Then came to realize the doughnut itself is the same, for every different flavor. The topping is what makes the doughnut different. But, most times it all tastes the same. The ambiance is full of pink and flowers She loves the strawberry tea with passion fruit popping pearls (she calls it a Barbie Drink) and the Ube Taro donut. Went with my teen daughter to get her a fun drink and six mochi donuts before her hair appointment next door. There was a guy at the counter but we ordered at the kiosk because that's what we have done in past visits. She ordered her drink and donuts. Unfortunately when we got her drink the guy accidentally made the drink with a cream topper, not what she ordered. We told the guy the accident was made and he said, "I can try to scoop that off the top!" I let him know that we'd like a new drink as ordered and it was made but the attitude given was not customer friendly. This wasn't a mistake on our part.
