Update 8/19: After reading the owner's response below, I want to correct a few statements for anyone considering booking. I paid $250 total -- $75 to Jennifer in advance and $175 directly to the entertainer on the day of the party. I did not pay $175 as stated in her response. I also was never told that I was booking a trainee or that a trainee would arrive without the attire, table/chair setup, or level of service the owner had described. Had that been communicated before I booked, I would have chosen another company. The owner initially acknowledged to me in writing that she had missed my requests and failed to communicate the level of service I was booking. I stand by my original review and unfortunately would not recommend this company based on my experience. Original Post: Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with our experience. We paid $250 for two hours of face painting and balloon twisting for my son's birthday party. On the company's intake form, I specifically selected that we wanted the entertainer to arrive in costume and that she would need to bring her own table. Neither happened. The entertainer arrived in jeans and a gray college sweatshirt with no company attire or costume, and without a table or even a chair for herself. She had only a small tray for her supplies, so I had to find a bench and figure out where to set her up. She was pleasant and the face painting and balloons themselves were fine, but there was very little engagement or presence as a party entertainer. Several guests didn't realize she was the entertainer, and I spent time directing parents and children over to her instead of enjoying my son's party. When I contacted the owner afterward, she initially apologized and acknowledged that she had missed my requests on the intake form and that the communication failure was on her end. She also explained that their artists normally arrive in company attire. I was then told that the person sent to our party was actually a trainee and that trainees do not bring tables, chairs, specific attire, or costumes. This was never disclosed to me before booking. Had I known I was paying $250 for a trainee with a substantially different level of service, I would have chosen one of the other entertainment companies we were considering. I understand that mistakes happen, and the entertainer herself was perfectly nice. My disappointment is with paying for one experience, receiving something very different, and only learning afterward that we had been assigned a trainee. I was looking for a photo booth rental for my daughter's baptism reception. Most of the other vendors that I looked at were out of my price range or the minimum was 3 hours. I came across Tickle My Face and due to the reviews and the price, I decided to contact. Jennifer was really responsive via email. There were a few times that I contacted her when I didn't hear from her but it wasn't like weeks that I wouldn't hear from Jennifer. I only needed the rental for 2 hours and her price was within my price range. You can pick the template that was already set but if you don't see one you like, Jennifer would work with you. She was very accommodating with my vision for the photo template for the baptism. On the day of the baptism, her team member did a wonderful job setting up and helping with the guests take their photos. I had little kids at the reception and he was able to adjust the camera for their height. He was very nice and he did a good job (I'm sorry that I don't remember the name). Afterwards, I got a flash drive with the pictures. We are Mac users so we had a bit of trouble having to unzip the files onto our computer. Still, that was not a big deal for us. I feel very conflicted writing this review, so I will give it 3 stars to be generous. I didn't feel like my service was great or terrible. I thought it was mediocre. I reserved a 2 hour package for face painting and balloon twisting. Jennifer was prompt with replying and confirming everything with me. Aubury came to our party and she was late. I was not notified that she was going to be late. As she was setting up one of my friends noticed and pointed out to me that her paint brushes were not cleaned or prepared yet. She forgot her markers as well, so none of the balloons had faces. We had a bunch of faceless Pikachus and the kids were a little confused by it. Towards the end of the party, my daughter popped her sword and went over to ask for a new one. I watched from afar and saw that she had rolled her eyes making the new sword for my daughter. My daughter is only 3 years old by the way. I thought it was weird that there were no picture book/list of examples for the guests to look at to choose what they wanted, instead they had to look at a list on Aubury's iPhone and there were very limited choices. Aubury was pleasant and kind towards the guests. Her face painting work is good. I would encourage more preparedness and professionalism.
