I have been meaning to post this for a couple of weeks. While visiting a friend in Phoenix we passed this place on the highway & I told her we should go.. so as a surprise on my way back to the airport she took me there. First of all we noticed it was getting late and they were closing at 9pm, but we called to tell them we would not be there until almost 8:30PM and they said "no problem" - very nice right off the bat, especially since it was on New Year's Day and I am sure that the staff was tired and ready to go home. Once we arrived we were greeted by very friendly staff - our server, Adam was amazing. He was able to answer all of our questions (with enthusiasm) including what he recommended & he was excited when we chose to try his recommendations. BBQ Brisket, BBQ chicken, loaded mashed potatoes and macaroni & cheese. Obviously it was a lot of food & I would not normally order so many heavy items, but every single thing was very very good - including the corn bread. It was also my birthday, since the kitchen was closed at that point, he still went and made a cute little birthday ice cream dessert. I was heading on a flight back home to Chicago - but I still took a small to-go box with me that Adam made sure was securely fastened to travel on the 4 hour flight. My friend took the rest home ... the servings were so big, everything was so good. Yum Yum Yum!!! The best part was how friendly the staff was ... not just our server, but everyone working there & these days in the restaurant industry it's hard to find staff at all, nevertheless a group of happy people that even stayed open a little later for us. It was such a welcoming feeling and delicious food. Overall wonderful experience- definitely worth more than 5 stars, but that's as high as Yelp goes. LOVE! read more

My nephew took me when I came to Phoenix in November 2023. I personally didn't like the food. BBQ I had wasn't good, no BBQ flavor and taste like boiled me. The mac & cheese mediocre. I think people go for the free donuts. They are good but not worth me returning. The restaurant is beautiful. I never went back after the 1st visit in December 2023. I was lucky enough to be invited to a party catered by Bobby Q. The mac and cheese was mmmmm mmmmm good. Perfect el dente macaroni with a great blend of gooey cheese. The pork was lightly seasoned and cooked enough to not be too stringy but not rubbery. The ribs were just the right amount of sloppy. Wow, really good job. AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING. We had a waiter named Bryce who made our first visit here the best service, experience, and one of the best meals ever! He lets us sample some things we were unsure about and helped us choose and we were super overwhelmed by all the good choices. Now the food.... Corn bread fantastic, ribs ridiculously good and literally fall off the bone, bbq chicken great, brisket sooo good. The ribs really were my favorite and my fiancé he loved the chicken. Get Mac and cheese as a side, ranch beans were a little sweet but yummy. But seriously everything was delicious, there was nothing we didn't like. And they give you donuts when you leave, complimentary. I can't rave about this place enough we have been itching to go back. I can't say enough wonderful things about Bobby Q's catering. They recently catered my wedding and I am so happy we found them! My husband and I like to try and be unique, and this was very evident while we were planning for our wedding. No ordinary venue would do... we wanted to get married at Scottsdale Stadium. But how could we make the food unique on a budget, when most catered food tastes like it has been in warming dishes all day and is very meh? Bobby Q's! We decided to go with the barbecue chicken and grilled salmon with citrus glaze. The food was amazing! They grilled on-site, so everything tasted fresh - a major plus in my book. Several wedding guests approached me to say it was the best dinner at a wedding they have ever had. And then, there was the service! Nicole went WAY out of her way to make sure our day went so smoothly. We had a cocktail hour prior to the ceremony as well as after... she had everything setup and ready to go before the first cocktail hour because she didn't want the guests to have to see the "behind-the-scenes" of getting ready. Even though that meant she had to be there earlier than normal. Her buffet table looked beautiful! She incorporated our colors and decor and it fit right in. Then, at dinner, while all of our guests were getting their food, she found my husband and me to give us each a BIG plate of food to make sure that we were able to eat that night. Great food and great people!! We recently had a party at our home for 60 people which went off without a hitch. NIcole the catering manager was a delight in planning the food selections, answering any questions and even scouted the event site prior to the day. The staff arrived 2 hours early for set up, was efficient before during and after with not a drop of trash or dishes for me to deal with. My guests loved the food and the bartender, who kept everyone's glasses filled. We have another event to be catered by them next month! read more

We just recently had a Western Dinner for about 130 people catered by Bobby Q's and it was fantastic!! We had BBQ Pulled Pork and Beef Brisket sandwiches which were tender and juicy; The Best BBQ Beans ever! Delicious Cole Slaw and Peach Cobbler! The hot dishes were hot, the Cole Slaw was fresh and cold and the Cobbler was delicious with it's crispy crust and fruity filling! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our wedding guests raved about the food and went back for seconds. An uncle from the Midwest declared it the best barbecue he'd had in years and the Texans wanted to go back the next night to the restaurant. So glad we found Bobby Q. Our visit to Bobby Q's as a group for a project at school was very pleasant. From the moment we arrived the service was quite memorable. The place was clean and the people were courteous. When the waitress arrived with our food we were astonished by the looks of it. The hamburgers were huge and juicy. The ribs were so soft that the meat fell right off the bone. The french fries were fresh and the ranch beans were flavorful. We give this restaurant five stars. We would highly recommend it to bbq fans, to go and share this experience.
