I hired Amici Catering for a work event recently. It was a Thursday evening event that I booked very last minute. I was frantic to find a caterer and at the recommendation of a friend who had used them for a corporate event, I reached out to see if they were available for my date and to get a quote. Lori responded immediately with confirmation that this date worked. What I appreciated most, was her recommendations for what to order, based on the time of day and audience. The event was a success, the wait staff was fantastic and fun personalities. The food was incredible. I will be using Amici again and cannot recommend them enough!! read more

I wanted to have our daughter's bridal shower in our backyard but I had no experience with catering. A fellow Phoenician on Threads suggested Amici and I am so glad that I followed that suggestion. Lori was truly lovely to work with and didn't make me feel ignorant about the process even though I 100% was. They came into our house stocked like the Marines ready to get it done. They prepared passed appetizers for an hour and then did a plated meal. Delicious and so elevated! LisaBeth was our main server and she made sure those with allergies were given TLC and she managed our water, ice, and wine table with precision. They were kind enough to do all of the dishes even though we had not paid for that time. I think a first time planner should know that there will be additional fees for staff and large rentals (chafing dishes, etc.). I didn't factor this in at the beginning but, of course, it totally made sense. I only wish I had a life where I had more catered events coming up as everything was so lovely and now I want to try all of the foods that I didn't have the opportunity to add to our event menu. read more

This was my first time catering and it was for my daughter's baby shower. I could not have been luckier to hire Amici Catering. Most of our communication was via email because of my long work days. Anything could have been misunderstood but Lori is a real pro. We managed to arrange everything within two emails. Lori showed up right on time (actually a little early) and got right to work getting everything set up. We had the mac and cheese martinis - which were FABULOUS, especially with all the toppings to choose from. Highly recommend that item on the menu. The Amici menu is so diverse and the prices are really reasonable. My daughter wanted light snacks with some protein for an 11am start. The frittatas were yummy and the sausage and bacon were gone within 20 minutes of opening the lid. Everything we had was fresh, gorgeous and all of the hot plates were empty by the time our first guests left. My daughter and son-in-law were absolutely delighted. I'm so grateful. I truly wish the scale went higher than 5 stars because Lori and her incredible team deserve every star in the sky! We got engaged just before the 2020 pandemic and after booking a venue one of the first vendors we booked was catering with Amici after a delicious taste testing session at their offices. Well then the pandemic happened and we had to cancel our wedding not once but twice due to the venue we had booked (which we ultimately walked away from) we decided to spend our wedding budget on a home instead and I don't regret that choice but it did mean waiting several years before we saved up enough for the wedding of our dreams again! Cue 2024 we booked with a new venue who included catering in our package so we went for a taste test with their preferred caterer and it was...disgusting. So feeling defeated that we were going to have awful food at our wedding we gave up hope, until we remembered we had paid a deposit with Amici Catering! We decided to call and give it a shot though we expected to be laughed off the phone for even requesting such a thing, instead we were greeted with the warm sweet voice of the owner Lori who after we explained our dilemma met us with an "Oh my gosh is this Sarah??" she knew exactly who we were and let us know that they had thought of us and hoped everything had turned out after we cancelled the second time. We had the most heartfelt conversation with her where her excitement for us was so genuine and so heartwarming she could have said she needed $50,000 and I think I would have sold my kidney to make it happen because the wedding industry can be so cold and lacking in excitement on what is a big day for you and your fiance but here was Lori more excited for us than maybe some of our own family even was! She offered us an incredible deal with the costs that have gone up and we booked it immediately! I am so so proud to say that Amici Catering catered my wedding on 02/28/25 and it is by far the most talked about thing from our wedding, the food was INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!! It is to this day the best fettuccini alfredo we've ever had! I grew up in an Italian household and rule #1 is you never say anyone's pasta is better than grandmas, but even my grandmother came up to me and asked what they did to make it so delicious! When we went to the bridal suite to sign the paperwork and bustle my dress for the first dance Lori had put a plate of the appetizers in there for us to enjoy since most couple's miss cocktail hour, the bruschetta is the bruschetta of my dreams and I wish I could have more now as I write about it, it's soo good and their pesto is perfection itself! Where we stood before being called in to the grand entrance to the reception was back where the catering setup was and as we stood there waiting to be announced as husband and wife Lori came around the table to us and she held my hands as I stood there in my wedding dress and we tearfully exchanged one of the sweetest moments I've ever felt where she was so happy for us and we were so grateful to her. Working with Amici Catering is not just choosing food for your wedding, it is gaining a cheering squad for your big day, it is feeling seen and thought about every step of the way, Lori makes sure you actually EAT on your wedding day because trust me you need it! She made sure the food was fun, delicious and interesting. The attention to detail was noticed by everyone: personalized fortune cookies dipped in gold and chocolate, lettuce wraps clipped with a very tiny clothes pin, stir fries and Pad Thai in take out boxes - amazing. I loved working with Lori. She's creative yet organized, a problem solver and makes things happen. We forgot olives for martinis and someone was sent to the store. The flow and timing were perfect. I use Amici Catering for work functions, they never disappoint! Either Lori, Scott or the chef will bring the food and set up. On the ride up the elevator one day, I was chit chatting with them and discovered that they used to own Tuchetti's! I freaking loved Tuchetti's and I never understood why they closed. Seriously, when I worked in the Biltmore area I remember going there for lunch at like 11:00 a.m. because I couldn't wait! Anyway, their catering services are awesome. They do a great job in setting up, believe it or not some caterers just drop off the food and ask you to sign the invoice, but not them. They are always well prepared and put on a nice presentation of their food. I cannot say enough good things about how delicious their food is, from breakfast, lunch and dinner. They offer breakfast croissant sandwiches with either egg ham and cheese OR egg mushroom and spinach, I've never had a better breakfast sandwich in my life. The desserts are also amazing. There's one called... the name escapes me but anyway, it's do die for -- individual cakes with chocolate gooeyness inside served with a side of whip cream, but nothing like cool whip, its the most delicious whip cream I've ever tasted, it shouldn't even be called whip cream anymore. The rest of the food they make is just as good. They really go out of their way to deliver top quality and I appreciate them! I just wish they still had Tuchetti's so that I can get a fix in between work functions. read more

Dear Lori, I attended a conference in Phoenix AZ Feb 27-March 2, 2018. I was at first pleasantly surprised, and then continually delighted by the quality of the food provided for breakfast and lunch. It is not only delicious, it's a lovely change from my 30+ years of "conference food" that always include cheap dishes easily made in bulk. Heavy pasta with cream for lunch, overdone meats and limp vegetables are what I'm used to. Delicious foods that include salads with pepitas, quinoa and scratch-made salad dressings have been a delightful and progressive change. Along with a hat's off to your chefs, I cannot underscore the importance of our servers. Kirk was lovely, friendly and pleasant on the day she served us. Every other day we had Holly, who has exceeded every expectation I had for personal attention, courtesy, attention to detail, efficiency and exceptional service. Our family is going through the worst tragedy imaginable. Our beautiful son passed away. My husband and I wanted to plan a celebration of life party for him. We knew what we wanted but couldn't get it together enough to make it happen, so we decided to hire an event planner. After we initially spoke to Lori we knew she was our girl! I did not feel we would have a good working relationship because she became very impatient with me during our interactions. She was very knowledgeable about her industry, but unfortunately lacked any empathy or compassion for a bride who does not. I would not recommend this company. I am so happy I found Amici Catering through Yelp! I recently used their catering services for a corporate breakfast in December 2014. From the start, Lori was so easy to work with and very accommodating. This was my first corporate catering event and she really helped me and provided some great advice! The event was for 50 people. After submitting an online request for an event I needed to have catered, Lori contacted me within the hour asking when a convenient time to talk. I explained my needs and sent over a little write-up of a menu and a budget, and she took it from there. Lori and Scott offered suggestions and worked amazingly with my budget for a group of clients I had in Phoenix. Even through the holidays, they kept in contact with me, responding promptly to any questions or concerns I sent their way. Sometimes when I use a caterer in different states, I become skeptical as I have been put in some pretty sticky situations the day my food should be delivered, but I had confidence and felt trusting with Amici from the start. I appreciated that they stayed in close communication at all times, not hesitating or assuming when they had a question about how I wanted/needed things done. Their suggestions were open-ended and I didn't ever feel pressured to alter my plan or make last minute decisions. Not to mention I hear their food was amazing. After speaking to several caterers and personal chefs, it was obvious during the first telephone conversation that Lori and her crew were heads and shoulders above the rest. Lori listened and quickly came back with a suggested menu themed around my husband's Polynesian 70th Birthday Party. I only did minor tweaking.....thrilled that she had listened and creatively altered some of the dishes toward that theme. She and her crew arrived promptly and set up discreetly during cocktail hour. *I work for a luxury hospitality company and have experience in Event Planning, so I know the dedication and attention to detail that is required for these type of events. Lori and her team recently catered my Grandfather's Celebration of Life at St. Francis for 200 guests. I submitted an online request around 7:30am and received an almost immediate response. I submitted several other similar requests to other caterers and some took days to respond. Lori seemed to understand our requests right from the start: we wanted food that allowed us and our guests to a) socialize and move about the room (i.e. no utensils required) and b) eat as little or as much as they'd like. Her initial proposal hit the nail on the head (again, other companies I had to counsel in to getting this right). Everything about Lori just "felt right" so I selected Amici for the service - so glad I did. The food was delicious and well above what I had envisioned for a catered event. Chicken salad tartines are amazing - I wish I could make them for myself at home. Above and beyond the food, was the service. The hall at St. Francis was a tad tight for 200 guests and the buffet lines but they made it work. In my planning phase I questioned if we really needed 4 servers - and yes, they were all hustling to make sure the buffet was refreshed and presentable at all times. Lori had to leave for another event but left us with Holly (I believe was her name) and she was just as fantastic. We had 4 kids under the age of 3 in attendance and when one got loose and headed for the lemonade pitcher, Holly jumped right in and prevented a disaster. At the end of the event they packed up all of the left-over food and loaded it in ours cars. The entire process was flawless beginning to end and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend or hire them again for future events. read more

I used Amici's catering for our daughter's Celebration of Life event; the staff at Amici's made a very difficult time much easier for us. They were extremely helpful from the minute I called Lori, who helped me pick out a beautiful menu while keeping mindful of the cost. She was very experienced and gave me helpful recommendations, even told me when I was ordering too much food; she was very insightful and kind. The servers Scott and Holly delivered and set up the food, served and cleaned up; they were very professional and respectful. Actually, they were more than that; they were very attuned to our event and were compassionate as well as flexible and accommodating. The food was amazing; everyone loved it, from the stuffed mushrooms, homemade meatballs, salad, lasagna, chicken piccata, chicken parm to the tiramisu. Everything was the perfect temperature. The staff took care of everything so seamlessly that I felt that we didn't have to think about anything but honoring our daughter. If I could give Amici's more than five stars, I would. We recently had Amici cater an intimate dinner for my mom's 60th birthday and Amici delivered every step of the way. Amici Catering recently catered a weekend-long conference I attended, both breakfast and lunch for three days. The food and service were fantastic! Every meal was consistently better than the next! Highly recommend the ham & cheese croissant, the edamame hash, and the steak/chicken tacos. Amici catered my mom and now stepdads wedding in May at their home in Scottsdale, and I can't say enough good things about their staff, the tasting, the communication up to the event, and the food the day of. Our event captain was Kirk - she was such a joy to work with and made sure that everything went flawlessly the day of their wedding. One server Holly was really on top of everything and made a huge impression on my mom and stepdad. She was always making sure they had a plate of food and a drink in their hand. I did a surprise party with 40 people. I hired Amici to cater the food. I was worried that the food would be just ok. Once I did a tasting I was hooked. The food was very good. Now only if they could do the same for my party. They did!!! The food was tasteful and fresh. Many of my guest commented on how delicious all the food was. Amici catering helped us last week to host a large party. Lori came to the house a few days before the party to advise where the food, drinks and seating arrangements were best. She arrived early the day of the party and had everything in place a good 45 minutes before the guests were due to arrive. We had to plan the wedding from out of town and were only able to meet with Lori twice before our event.
